He's supposed to be exploding their heads with his ill-defined powers. I'm guessing the problem is this film is not R-rated, so they have to be super vague about it. Like how Raiders of the Lost Ark had to put a fire over top of the head exploding to avoid an R-rating.

that would explain why you only see a blood spurt out of the back of their heads.
if this was r-rated you would see full head explosions, no doubt.
And now it's back to 14%. Box office reports start coming out tomorrow, fellas, and that's where we'll find out the fate of this movie.
I don't think it can pull a TMNT and rake in big bucks despite critics shitting on it... that movie had the Michael Bay factor, and this one just has "from the studio that brought you Days of Future Past".

i wanna take a moment to say that even though we all like to thrash on these money-grubbing/rights-keeping scams, fant4stic is a whole other level. like, you look at it for the first time and think "yeah it looks like shit", but even when that initial anti-reboot feeling dies down i still can't help but feel like it's going to be a disturbingly bad film
i didn't even care about tmnt or the total recall reboot after hearing about how bad they were for a while but fant4stic? every time i look at it i go "wow, it really DOES look bad"

I've been intrigued by this movie since the first shitty trailer, and then even more by the fact that they changed the negative zone from brown to green to avoid bad chromakey due to their cloud cgi engine. Such a shame that it starts screening here only in 2 weeks.

even if it has a somewhat decent opening, i bet word of mouth is gonna kill it over the subsequent weekends. but it still has worldwide box office to salvage it so it'll still probably make back its budget enough to not be considered a total bomb, regrettably. but no chance they're gonna really follow through with a sequel, I just don't believe it.
Yay now we can have Doom or Galactus as the antagonist of Avengers 4!
if they do a sequel it'll be silver surfer portrayed by bad CGI, and galactus portrayed by a grocery bag
