Is this the final Fox film before they hand the rights back to Marvel?
Isn't there another Wolverine film coming?
Ugh why is Wolverine there.
Hopefully just a cameo?
Because Wolverine is the center of the X-men universe and it all revolves around him. He is a tall, athletic and attractive man who is ultimately quite level headed and savage without ever really being at all savage. He's smart and speaks eloquently. He's Indiana Jones with claws. Why shouldn't he be the most important character of the XCU!?!!?!?!??! ...it's so wrong :(
To be fair, though, with this movie practically a war they'd want all the help they can get. On top of that, they already know that Wolverine had a connection to the future, so they may try to get advice as to how to stop Apocalypse. As much as I'd like them to focus on the other X-Men (Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Nightcrawler; specifically), I admit, Wolverine isn't completely out of place or forced into the plot (from what we know). Now it's just a matter of how much they focus on him. Addendum: Plus, I feel like they're trying to completely obliterate any trace of Origins from the continuity, since they also revealed [sp]Blob[/sp] (spoilers for the more sensitive ones) will have at least a cameo in the Mutant Fight Club.
So Professor X is absent through the film and JLaw is basically the lead. Okay.
Watch Wolverine get his yellow costume in this movie
Considering no one else is wearing the blue and yellow costumes, I highly doubt that
Let's all just be happy that this is the last one. I'll go see it, probably will even enjoy it, but after this there really isn't any excuse to make new films unless they do a hard-reboot, which I feel is inevitable because - money
Considering no one else is wearing the blue and yellow costumes, I highly doubt that
Let's hope they have it, or something similar, in Wolverine 3. It being the final Jackman film, I can see something resembling it being used in its finale fight.

To be honest Apocalypse is like their ultimate villain they can't go anywhere after it. Just like after Thanos in the Avengers movies.

Might be Singer's last film, might be the last 1stC film, but they still have 30 years of material to mine and a studio that wants Superhero money.
center of their universe
It's funny you say that cause he pretty much was, also for thirty years, unless you can name another marvel character that actually staved off Marvel's bankruptcy for a couple years. While a carrying character is only as good as their ensemble cast, Marvel didn't sell out to Disney because they liked Disney's tumblr page.

FOX could make a deal with Marvel and/or Sony to have Deadpool appear, have Dr. Doom be rebooted into the MCU, have Galactus appear. Now that Marvel + Sony have come to a deal we have Norman Osborn and the symbiotes that could be big villains for several movies. It's seemingly leading up to a fox deal though. Even if they don't reboot F4 into the MCU they can still use Dr. Doom. Given the 3 years of planned movies they already have, I can see a deal working out so they can have a good phase 4-6. Possibly Spiderman, Black Panther, and Dr. Strange as the 3 main leads of the new avengers if that happens. For the x-men though, I really can't see where they go after it, even when I watched the cartoon I remember apocalypse being the last one thing I watched of it. Which is why I guess this is the final film for the x-series. I wonder if Wolverine will be replaced if they did come to a deal and rebooted the series. Spiderman with Deadpool or Wolverine cameos would be great.

Subtle Abnett and Lanning reference there [editline]25th April 2016[/editline]
Nathan Fillion is Simon Williams? My excitement is off the charts, I'm giddy right now.
Although really, I think it's just meant to be a cameo if anything.
I know, but I love Nathan Fillion and I love Simon Williams/Wonder Man, so seeing the MCU acknowledge both makes me ridiculously happy.

X-Men Apocalypse looks so by the numbers. There'll probably be one cool scene everyone will rave about, action scenes consisting of the same stuff we've seen before (but with wilder camera angles), obnoxious references to the comics material whilst still tied to this early-00's insistence that superheroes ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS, Jennifer Lawrence doing a bored expression (and getting lots of scenes, probably a romance, maybe a lot of sequences of McAvoy intensely staring at Lawrence having a happy life), lots of scenes of people yelling at something, incredibly weird costume design, and a finale that hints at a more comic-accurate sequel which will probably not happen. [editline]25th April 2016[/editline] Oh yeah, and decade-accurate pop culture references. Also heavy handed symbolism about Magneto being like a Nazi or some shit like that.
To be fair half of what you listed can be found on any super hero movie, including MCU films
To be fair half of what you listed can be found on any super hero movie, including MCU films
The difference is that the MCU films haven't been doing it for sixteen years, and when they do it, at least they try to do something different. The last time the X-Men franchise tried to do something different with First Class, Synger literally killed the fun characters off-screen.
Except for GoTG and Winter Soldier, I wouldn't say any of them were really "different". As much as I enjoyed most of the MCU films, I can't deny that while seeing most of them it felt like I had already seen it all before

considering how restrained and intelligent days of future past was compared to its contemporaries, I'd be really surprised if Apocalypse is just a mindless city explosion film. Of course they're going to put that stuff in the trailer even if it's only 1% of the film.
some spider-man footage [vid]https://files.catbox.moe/aq19ht.mp4[/vid]
man tom holland's spider-man voice is perfect, he's like just whiny enough that you can tell most of the other heroes would have a love/hate relationship with him and it's perfect for dealing out sarcasm
Spiderman's display of strength, holy moly i'm hype
Yes, an actually strong spiderman. Usually in fights he's just using his webs, but the dude is strong as fuck.
