Bucky [sp] Killed his parents. In control or not, it's hard not to blame him. [/sp]
also, this was probably RDJ's most challenging portrayal of tony yet. top notch acting by him
i thought the [sp]young Tony / RDJ bit[/sp] was scarily well done

Even though it still sorta looked like CGI it was pretty damn amazing.
It also helped the movie, that there were only a few scenes with funny bits. Overall liked the serious and mature tone.
Mulling it over a bit, I always find that the best way (in the MCU films) to guilt Tony is to show how some mook died and it guilts Tony. Honestly, was Coulson anything but a mook to Loki? Was the guy who helped him make the first suit? And Tony takes it to heart and it becomes some sort of standard that he has to avenge (heh). It's in most of the Iron Man films and it's in Civil War. And it pisses me off.
In Civil War, am I the only person who thinks Spider-Man was poorly done?
[sp]It's as if the writers were thinking 'hey we don't have too many superheroes on Iron Man's side. I know, lets shoehorn Spider-Man into the big fight after only a five minute introduction, and we'll completely forget about him once the fight is over'.
He doesn't add anything to the plot. The whole movie would have happened the same if he wasn't involved, only that the battle would feature different specific superheroes fighting each other. I can see why they decided to include Spider-Man in the trailers for Civil War now: they were trying to generate as much hype as possible for the movie by featuring Spider-Man. Only to have him do a few scenes and not be mentioned again. Oh, until maybe the after-credit scene which I heard about, but I missed out on that.
Anyways I was disappointed that no character actually died in the fight, only one who got paralysed. The plot armour around all of the characters is way too strong.[/sp]
How has everyone in this thread already seen Civil War?
It's not even in theaters until May 6?
[editline]2nd May 2016[/editline]
It's already released in Europe? It's official now, Captain America has become self aware of this election and fled to Europe or parts unknown.

I take it Coulson didn't have a cameo in the new film to remind the avengers that he has been alive for quite some time now?
Again..

Finally caught up on AoS. It bothers me that the show is getting further away from the films.
I was hoping for the show to tie into Civil War in some way but it's clear they won't be touching it at all in the show. Very disappointed.
I was hoping for all the inhumans to be the people whom the government wants registered, and therefore it would be bigger than just the Avengers.
I feel like the show is degrading in quality again. I loved the first season, when the show very much a part of the film story. It's becoming less about secret agents and more about "which ancient hell monster is going to try and destroy the earth this time"?
They also hyped me up for Secret Warriors only for [sp]the team to split up and have a 5 minute mission before completely disbanding and never appearing again.[/sp]

I'd guess that there would be more of an impact from civil war next season. (if there is one)
I agree though. They've kind of been doing their own thing and they need to fulfill that role as the glue between the films again. It also hasn't helped that all the new marvel films this year premiere between seasons.

I'm still waiting for the inevitable [sp]team up with Creel because it looks like they'll just have him around instead of Stonewall[/sp]
Also, there's still a few episodes left so I wouldn't count out a tie-in with Civil War (or even just a mention) just yet. Besides, iirc, the show's already been confirmed to have another season.

Series 1 also had a lot more mystery with the whole Tahiti thing, series 1 also had Samuel L. Jackson at the beginning and end along with the actors who played 'Agent Sitwell' and 'Maria Hill' who were all in the movies. But series 2 and beyond doesn't even feel like it's in the MCU, they just mention the occasional 'Avengers 2:Ultron' thing and series 3 is all over the place and not really as interesting as series 1

You basically summed up everything on my mind. I don't mind the Inhuman plot, but the show doesnt really feel like "Agents of SHIELD" anymore.

I think we're 5-10 years away from a whole film where an actor is deaged like this. Both Ant Man and this were nearly flawless, the technology is all there it just needs a few more years to perfect it.
The implication is huge. We're all talking about how Evans and Downey Jr will one day get too old for their roles, well they don't need to. It can be like the comics. They never need age ever again. We can probably bring back dead actors with this. In 20 years this effect will be the norm. Never hire a new Indiana Jones as Harrison will do it forever, or hire your new Jones and have a young Ford's face pasted on top. It all really exciting. Also a bit terrifying. Annoying for the young jobbing actors who can't impersonate an A-list supreme.
agents of people who hate agent ward but we already killed him so now hes conveniently become the host body to some alien thing that ancient hydra happens to worship
I assume there is a contract with the actor for the 3rd season and they still wanted to write in Ward's death. I know he's trying to act different, but he still seems like Ward, they should have changed his hair or something.
Chris Stuckmann's got his review up. I don't entirely agree with everyone present having clearly defined reasons for being there (Ant-Man and Hawkeye just felt kind of there to me) but besides that, it's pretty much what I think about this.

And I have to ask again, what is with people treating Ant-Man going giant as a spoiler? Even as a non-comics fan, it's a completely logical progression.
I don't get Antmans powers, he's supposed to stay the same weight when he changes size doesn't he? So how can he crush cars and stuff as giant man if he still weighs the same as a regular guy?
I don't get Antmans powers, he's supposed to stay the same weight when he changes size doesn't he? So how can he crush cars and stuff as giant man if he still weighs the same as a regular guy?
wikipedia says that "Pym retains his normal strength when "ant" size, and possesses greatly increased strength and stamina when in "giant" form, courtesy of the increased mass. Pym's costume is synthetic stretch fabric composed of unstable molecules and automatically adapts to his shifting sizes."
(unstable molecules being a fictional marvel tech that allows that to happen)
short answer... comic books.

I think it's because some didn't expect him to do it in a Captain America movie and that they were saving it for his next solo movie.

What I'm more confused about is how he can shrink small enough to get inside of someone else's suit, yet his footsteps - which should have the force of a full-size person - don't affect the victim at all?
I like Ant-Man, I like his superpowers, I really enjoyed his movie and his cameo in Civil War was amazing, but those inconsistencies just irritate me.

"Punch them too softly, it's a lovetap, too hard, you'll kill them"
Hope explains this in the film. He can choose how much power to put behind things. Somehow.
I hope Ant-Man 2 explores the idea of the Pym Particle's effect on mental health (as implied by Hank in the first one), and possibly Scott's descent into near-madness, that'd be some gooooood drama bro.

This concept was there in the first one with Cross, but they failed to explain it. Hope mentioned in passing that the constant exposure to Pym particles were what made Cross so insane, but they never mentioned it again.
Yeah I know that, Hank mentions that it fucks with your brain chemistry unless you have a proper helmet (which is why Scott pops his helmet every time he goes small), but it takes a toll anyway. It'd be really cool to see Scott having to deal with that, maybe getting more violent etc.

I'm thinking Ward is at the point where tyhe can always change his character into something else. If they [sp] Can cure Skye of the parasite, they can cure Ward. he might have amnesia, false memories, or a new view on life which makes him come back to the team. I think May will die in the finale and Ward takes her place. [/sp]
