Question: Lift to Failure each set? Yes or No?
no
It will put too much stress on your nervesystem going to failure each set, If I'm not mistaken? Also guys, how can I tell if a muscle part is out of proportion?
you compare it to your other body part.... we're bipedal creatures so ...
My left forearm hurts when i lift (the tendon), it heals and goes away, but comes back within a week or two of returning to lifting. Its starting to hold me back, as i can't really progress to a heavier weight, so i've made very little gains in the last two months. I use a straight dumbbell bar for curls, and i was wondering if switching to an EZ-bar would help since it is easier on the wrist/forearm.
where exactly does it hurt ? it could be a number of things ... i suggest you google wrist stretches and such and foam roll the forearm.
where exactly does it hurt ? it could be a number of things ... i suggest you google wrist stretches and such and foam roll the forearm.
Slightly past half way up my forearm, on my Ulna, its tender to the touch if i agitate it. Only hurts after I set my weights down after doing a few curls. I've been stretching and massaging it regularly, and it helps it heal. But I've also come across a lot of people saying that an EZ-Bar can help as it reduces stress. Only curls agitate it. I can do bench work, and do pullups, pushups and other exercises without a problem, and that's what ive been doing lately. The pain is gone right now because i haven't agitated it in a week or two, and have not done any curls, but if i returned to doing it, I would most likely need to stop in 3-4 weeks to prevent it from getting worse/allow it to heal. This is the second time in 3 months i have had to stop to let this heal. (Im not going to let this develop into type 2/3 tendonitis).
I've had a similar issue as well. use a different exercise and it will go away ... and I also had been using a straight bar, so, yes an ez bar in my opinion would be the better choice.

How much should I be increasing my bench every week? Right now I'm increasing at about 5kg a week That okay?
uh, 5 kg a week seems a bit excessive how long have you been able to do that? because i don't think you've had enough weight on the barbell to begin with if you can put 5 kg on it every week
