so I'm a skinny nerd and I started stronglifts, did my 2nd session today and I have some questions:
should I be taking protein supplements?
is the inside of my elbow joint (like on the elbow part up the arm but the non-hairy side that faces inwards) meant to hurt when I extend my arm?
is this all the upper body workout I need or should I do some more stuff to get bigger guns and all that shallow stuff?
cheers
1. you should eat lots of protein, but remember, it's called supplement, not replacement
2. dunno lel
3. keep doing it and eventually switch up to some split or something, don't be one of those biceps/ab/chest guys, give all of your body attention
focusing on just working upper chest now and hitting shoulders twice a week
shit be LACKIN
A girl said I looked better before I started lifting.. Is this swole-hate?
A girl said I looked better before I started lifting.. Is this swole-hate?
not really. my own girlfriend expressed her displeasure when i gained some srs mass over a semester, but she got over it.
girls tend to prefer ottermode boys in terms of attraction, but who fuckin cares; lift for yourself and ignore deez haters
Don't workout for girls, if you want chicks, turn maximum homo with the gayest hairstyle you can think of, crush your balls with the tightest pants you can find, become nigh-anorexic and swim in bitches.

your body will naturally go in a path where it can push or pull a load most efficiently aka easily. however, from what you've described it sounds like your arms can't catch up.
is it only on this specific exercise or a general sensation throughout your back training?
bad news bear
i was doing OHP today and my right shoulder completely gave and I felt/heard a tearing or grinding sound
major pain in my rear delt area and mobility is very limited
:( i am ruined
rotator cuff possibly. first thing to do is rest. avoid everything that causes pain, find out for yourself which is what.
secondly, facepulls and mobility exercises ... (ill pm you what you need to do)
depending on the injury, it should be about a week or two to completely be rid off.
thirdly, ohp is something most people can't manage structurally aka bad posture, so.... there are better alternatives.

General sensation throughout my back training for the most part so this could make sense, I've never had strong arms at all, I can only curl wet paper bags for weight compared to actually being able to lift good weights on my other trainings.
man going up in weight sucks, you get muscles yes but you still look like shiiieeet. I feel like the little fat i get HAS to collect around my belly.

hngg gonna compete on saturday wish me luck .
I just realized that I don't know what I'm working out for and its killing my motivation, help.
Is it normal to not have any end goals? I just kind of do it because its the right thing to do but on these few last reps where I really feel the burn, I don't really have anything in mind to focus on to help me pull that last rep or two all the way.
no. if you want to be successful beyond a simple hobby you'll need to set goals. daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. start by setting up goals, abiding by them, achieving, conquering if you will and come back here and tell me you're lacking motivation.
I fucking love training; i train, nothing else. no bad thoughts, happy thoughts, i just want to see myself being pushed, break a pr over and over again. it's all about goals.
Is chocolate milk + whey protein a good post-workout shake?
Talking about it like that, I guess I do have some goals.
For now I'm really looking forward to do my first pull up, I've always been a heavy weight so this would be a huge accomplishment for me just to get a single one done.
On this topic, I have a rack where I can do pull ups and stuff and there's also these bars I can do dips on, would doing reverted rows on these dips bar help me for pull ups?

I'm talking something similar to that.

I mix my whey protein as a post-workout shake with simple skim milk because I'm counting the calories but I don't see why chocolate milk would be bad though I never tried so I don't have experience, I'm just assuming since its basically milk.

I'm also wondering if I should buy a barbell, my dumb bells are getting really crowded and I don't have any place to buy any more weights on them so I can't progress on certain workouts like shrugs.
Should I buy a barbell or just invest in some hex dumb bells with the weights I need.
Been doing weight lifting as a class at school for a few months now, I have it in the morning so it really helps me get woken up and everything, it's been pretty great. Haven't "seen" any results yet, but I'm able to lift a bit more and more every day, which is a good sign I guess! :v: I just received an insanity workout set from a friend who didn't have the time to do it, is that worth doing really? Not necessarily just for muscle building but just fitness in general.
so i tried ZMA to see if it would improve my sleep, well i did sleep more, but it was in tiny segments of sleep, and all had bizarre dreams.
one involved popping a pimple on my forehead and resulted in a raw egg volcano on the top of my head
i think i'm done :v:
bought a hookah. feels good man.
saw a doc today and he said I probably have a partial tear in my rotator cuff
out of commission for upper body stuff but imma get turnt da fuck up on dem legs yadigg
