Like honestly I don't know how people can eat enough to become obese because I could never do it myself
It's not hard really.. 1 Snickers bar (single) is like 500 calories (more or less). A bag of chips/crisps (300g) is a lot of calories too. Now most obese people first eats a lot of unhealthy, fat, calorybombed food along with soda, candy and snacks. I bet the food itself (Big portions) is too many calories. Now imagine adding additional 1000-1500 calories on top of that.
A snickers bar actually has 271 calories, but that means I could eat 4 of those a day and add an extra 1,000 calories onto my daily diet, woah
a lack of activity is the real cause
I just hope I won't have to alter my daily life outside of the gym in order to suit my exercise habits. If I feel more hungry, so be it. If I don't and have to force myself to eat more anyway, that is when it becomes less comfortable. In all likelihood if that happens I'll probably refuse to eat more, continue to exercise with the same intensity, and suffer any consequences that go with that (even if it means reaching a plateau)
I just really wish I didn't have to change my diet. I'm willing to work really fucking hard in the gym every day for some kind of results, but I'm such a picky eater and have an extremely low appetite... I'm just never hungry, so the thought of forcing myself to eat 50% more food every day is really painful [editline]30th July 2012[/editline] Honestly I can happily go all day with only one meal and feel alright, but this may be due to the fact that I do little in terms of exercise these days Maybe if I started lifting and doing all that I would be hungrier more often
I have the same problem. It sucks because I'm told there's nothing worse than going to the gym on an empty stomach. Which is why I usually go after 6, when I've had my dinner.

Would going to the gym after a bowl of cereal and then having Dinner afterwards be considered OK? My mum makes dinner for everyone so I can't really have it whenever I want, and she cooks pretty late (7ish). Only on the odd day I get to make my own meals when I want. [editline]30th July 2012[/editline]
Who told you that?
Some fitness guy on a youtube video, said something about burning muscle instead of fat, I dunno. But I can't imagine it being a good thing?

I don't think you're worried about forcing yourself to eat. What you feel "less comfortable" (uncomfortable) with is the thought of having to cook yourself something that you enjoy. Like you said, you're accustom to eating out. You still depend on others to feed you. As a kid, I remember having similar problems. I would sit in front of the tv getting hungry and shit, wanted a BLT, but the mere thought of making it was painstaking. I would eventually get an upset stomach and subsequently feel like I wasn't hungry anymore. I was lazy as fuck and didn't know how or like to cook.
The Leangains method wouldn't be very succesful if it wasn't lol, apart from a protein supplement before training you don't need to eat anything
I'm not familiar with that method. But you know more than me. Could I get away with having the supplement afterwards instead of before?
Did some Turkish Getups today, I think I'm in love with em.
can i use preworkout if i havn't been to sleep in about 20 hours? i usually only use it when im tired as fuck.
I'm not familiar with that method. But you know more than me. Could I get away with having the supplement afterwards instead of before?
The leangains method involves taking 10 grams of BCAAs before a workout as apart of an intermittent fasting diet. These people are not eating until after they workout and don't eat for periods >16 hours a day.
just go to sleep
that's what i did. anyways my friend's in a powerlifting club and they need a lightweight. Any insight on powerlifting? should i do it? they said they need a guy my size and trainin will be free.
Why wouldn't you go for it ? Sounds perfect
that's what i did. anyways my friend's in a powerlifting club and they need a lightweight. Any insight on powerlifting? should i do it? they said they need a guy my size and trainin will be free.
I do strengthlifting (dunno if its the same as powerliftin') in the lightweight class. They train you really well, you get muscles and shit but sadly you won't look lean at all since you develop alot of thick muscles around your back and stomach to support your body during heavy lifts. And that makes your body p. thick. Got third place in the nationals too.
I think you have the wrong idea. http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/why_bodybuilders_are_more_jacked_than_powerlifters Interesting read.

http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/why_bodybuilders_are_more_jacked_than_powerlifters Interesting read.
Interesting indeed. Well i do powerlifting it seems, but i told them i prefer to be strong in my own weightclass instead of being like my friend and going from 70kg to 105kg just so that he can do 25kg more in squatting and some more in deadlifting. I'm still p. inexperienced in muscle development, but i already know that most of the powerlifters here put on quite a bit fat. And that is not exactly what i want. I don't know if it's impressing or not but i'm 66 KG and these are my stats: Deadlift: 160kg Squat: 120kg Bench: a mere 85kg :(
Because i've had a wrestling shoulder injury that still hurts a bit. Wrestling ended about 5 months ago. i also got a lot weaker since i stopped doing 5x5
Because i've had a wrestling shoulder injury that still hurts a bit. Wrestling ended about 5 months ago. i also got a lot weaker since i stopped doing 5x5
Squat should be mo broblem. But if you have a shoulder injury, you should prolly just cut down on deadlifting.
Squat should be mo broblem. But if you have a shoulder injury, you should prolly just cut down on deadlifting.
I love deadlifting though :C
I love deadlifting though :C
Yeah me too, but it puts alot of strain your shoulders. So unless you are 100% sure it won't get worse then go for it, but a bit lighter then usual.
Yeah me too, but it puts alot of strain your shoulders. So unless you are 100% sure it won't get worse then go for it, but a bit lighter then usual.
my shoulder mostly hurts when im doing flys. and i can hear it and feel it move a bit. or a something get pinched
Damn, some of these olympic weightlifters sitting at 63kg make me feel and look like a skinny fat cunt.

I really don't understand how people can be so good at benching while others can't. It also takes a long time to progress even with correct technique.
Got third place in the nationals too.
What were your results in the competition?
It's funny, cuz a friend of my brother benches 90+ kg and he's skinny as shit. I really don't understand how people can be so good at benching while others can't. When I bench-press dumbbells my arms are wobbly as shit. But I can manage the weight fine (At least for 12 reps). Is this because in the past I've been using a machine for my chest instead of free weights, so my 'stabilization muscles' aren't really as worked as my main muscles? Feel free to tell me I'm talking utter shit here, but that's my guess.
Just tried actually bench pressing for the first time in ages (after just using machines because I had no one to spot). What the fuck. I am so weak. What is happening?
Just tried actually bench pressing for the first time in ages (after just using machines because I had no one to spot). What the fuck. I am so weak. What is happening?
Well, I don't have anyone to spot either. Did the roll-of-shame a good couple of times but I almost never have to anymore. You don't use nearly as many muscles on machines because you don't have to balance the weight, so it makes sense that you are weaker as a result of it.
