on a more serious note, today I proved just how fucking weak my shoulders are
I somehow managed to hurt my shoulder doing pull ups today. I have deep aching pain in my front left delt, and at its worst the pain felt like it was shooting down to my hand. any idea what it could be/what I should do?
i'm icing it atm

I didn't feel or hear a pop btw, it just started hurting after doing 10 pull ups or so
Did you use a wide/behind the head pullup?

Wow you beta bitch, 15 hour shifts should net you a lot of money.

lmao little babby zee captain is obsessed with me
Hello everyone, I normally dont post in this section because I dont weightlift or workout that often. However, I am looking to change this.
I am 6' and 160lbs. Skin and bones; eat like a pig and nothing happens.
I am looking for heading here on how to start/ proceed to build muscle. I have strong cardio but no arm or any abdomen strength. Building muscle for me is not about my peers but about my future career as a law enforcement officer.
What is a good starting point for these things? Ultimately my goal is 50 Push-ups, 25 Pull-ups by june if thats possible :v. If it helps I can do like 3 pull-ups and 10 push-ups as is now.
[sp]People keep talking about P90X - worth it?[/sp]
I've done P90X and it's good for initial boost if you've the motivation to follow it, as it's pretty arduous. I lost 9 kgs following it and got enough basic level strength to continue onto more effective work outs. Most people here will probably tell you to not follow it though and I do sort of agree, as it's not the most effective program out there. The videos do help though, as they force you to follow the program exactly, rather than lazing off at every free space.

What would you recommend as a good starting program?
Well, as most people here would say, Starting Strength or Stronglifts would be your best bet, if you wish to gain strength. More info on those here: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1094249
You could also try doing the 100 push ups/150 dips/200 squats/200 sit ups challenge if you wish (google for those), they're bodyweight only so there's no need for equipment and judging by my own strength gains the programs are fine (obviously the strength gains will be less than with heavy equipment, but they're nice if you want to improve push ups/squats/dips).
What should I include in my diet if I'd want to lose body fat without losing muscle mass.
My aim is getting dat sweet definition.
I already work out about 4-5 times a week, either running, gym or Krav Maga.
What are some good oblique exercises?

um just eat a lot of protein and some carbs? right? and limit unhealthy fats like always
if anything just maintain a caloric deficit, nothing too huge though. you want to lose 1-2 pounds a week

Hold it or strap it?
Hold it or strap it?
I hold it, but lightly. just enough so that my head is resting against it, and not like my head is pressing into the plate
just do squats, dls
Here's a (bad) comparison picture between 95,4kgs and 123,3kgs.

EDIT: it's me of course.
Here's a bad picture of me at 300lbs, I was in a very bad place at this time in my life, locked in a cycle of depression and eating, and the bigger i got, the more I ate and the less i went outside, further reinforcing the cycle

all these years later, I still see the stretch marks...
they act as both a painful reminder of what I was, and a joyful reminder of what I have overcome.......
that's a touching story
Indeed.
