Just don't drink any dairy, it prevents getting sick, reduces flem, staying off of it will generally keep you leaner. But if your some phaggot who depends on cow milk go right ahead and drink it.

No reason to avoid milk if you don't get any negative responses from it. Also, if you take in consideration that the slow-fast protein old bodybuilding notion, is scientifically proven then on the contrary, you should add some milk to your diet rather than avoid it. Same with Gluten.... (minus added benefits, as it has none) If you find it causes some distress, then drop it.
No reason to avoid milk
I particularly meant processed versus unprocessed milk. I personally don't see any reason to believe why pasteurization or homogenisation would make milk drastically worse.
Hey, is there a reason why for stronglifts 5x5, you only do one set/5reps for deadlifts, and not 5sets/25reps? Also, what things to you do for dumbbells? I currently do 3 different things when I use the dumbbells. Snatches, where you stand normally, knees bent a little, and have the weight just hanging like you were just walking with it or something. The whole thing is to explode and raise it straight up above your head, hence why it's called a "snatch" Second thing I do are called skullcrushers. You lay down like a benchpress and hold dumbbells in each hand so you work both arms. You hold them straight up, then bend your arms 90 degrees towards your head as if you were going to "crush" it. Third thing I do are offset grip curls. You sit in a inclined seat and curl with an offset grip. You grip the weights towards the outer edge instead of the middle. I have a little trouble with these because they are fairly intense. Are these good? Bad? Mehdi doesn't seem to specify what exercises to do with dumbbells, so I don't know if these are necessary or not. EDIT: I don't know if this would have gone better in the sticky'd thread, but somehow I ended up posting this in this thread. Probably doesn't matter though.
Anyone try the Bane workout? Its basically a glorified 5x5 but goddamn it looks like it works.

Furthermore, SL provides enough volume for the OCD beginner lifter and is using a good meduim range for both strength and hypertrophy. Secondly, because Deadlift uses so many muscles and usually is done at high intensities, it's recommend people do 1 set, especially under SL's conditions, as it's being done more frequently than every 7th day. Thirdly, there's nothing wrong with dumbbells and it's even recommend if you have imbalances due to an unbalanced posture (99% of people do). Besides that, I assume you aim for hypertrophy, and adding a few isolations won't do anything but benefit that goal.
I wanna look like that guy from Fight Club What is first step? Gym membership? Or should I use my school's gym? (I am in highschool) Or buy stuff? I'm a skinny bastard at the moment. 123 pounds and 5' 11". [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] Also my right forearm, a couple inches below the wrist, has been aching for months now, that puts a damper on things. Otherwise I'd already be at least doing some calisthenics. Got an x-ray, no tumors, no fractures, nothing. Took ibuprofen for a while, nothing. Wat da fuck do I do? My GP didn't help.
Soo what do you think of avoiding processed milk products? Are there actual scientific facts behind it or is just another bullshit hippie thing like the aspartame scandal. What about gluten? As far as I've understood it's only bad if you happen to be sensitive to it which is unlikely.
Pretty much what Seith said The only reason to avoid them is if you have intolerance for them. However its gotten out of hand, t-nation did a fantastic article about how ridiculous the industry has gotten with recommending dairy-free and gluten-free diets to people that really have no reason for it. Dairy intolerance is pretty easy to detect yourself, gluten intolerance can be a little bit more tricky. Some people can tolerate gluten in as far as not perceiving any problems, but find they feel better when they eliminate it from their diet. Me personally I fucking love dairy and gluten, shit owns.
milk gives me really bad gas should I avoid drinking it? I can tolerate other dairy products though. this is a serious question btw
A lot of people have problems with milk, you should limit your milk intake if you do. So yeah, avoid it if you can or try to limit it.
I literally drink one glass a milk of day and I will fart like a motherfucker
I gradually developed something like a selective lactose intolerance over the years of me drinking a ton of milk. Now I need to drink lactose free milk. If I drink normal milk or especially eat creamy cakes or something similiar, I get horrible gas which is very painful. Cheese has no effect on me on the other hand. Doctor tests come up with no indication of lactose intolerance though.
great lightning.
Man, this Brad Pitt fella had a more intense regime than I realised
Man, this Brad Pitt fella had a more intense regime than I realised
Piss off. Ok so I came across this, and it kinda disappoints me that I signed up for Planet Fitness, even though it basically is the only gym I can afford. The Planet Fitness I go to doesn't suck or anything though, as in they aren't strict AT ALL (they don't care if I do deadlifts) and the smith machines don't go straight up and down; they have more of a slope to them. Though I do understand that if I move on to another gym that has truly free weights, I'll probably have to pretty much start over because I'll probably have subpar technique with squats and benchpresses due to having the help from the smith machines. What am I gonna do though....in my financial situation, I'm a bit limited.
Afford it when you can, don't push it unless this something you truly want no matter what. A pullup bar is a fine choice when it's all you have.....
I recently turned 18 and I've been working out seriously for about four months (before that I had no consistency, workout structure or any knowledge about what to eat). A-am I ready for creatine usage?
You should have started using it from day 1.
yes.
Well then, it is decided. What do I need to know about it?
Fuck creatine loading. Take 3-5 10 mins before training and blast away.

What multivitamins would any of you that take them recommend? I looked at optimum nutrition opti-men, it sounds pretty good, judging from the reviews.
