1 routine for 2 years? o lawd
I have a question;
everyone usually recommends a days rest between workouts, does this apply when you're working different muscle groups?
ie if I work legs one day would it be alright to work arms the next or should I have a day of rest inbetween?

No you're fine. Only really applies to doing the same groups multiple days in a row.

I don't exactly want to be "skinny" just lean. EG: Flat torso[/QUOTE]
So you want to look like a pussy? My BMI says i'm overweight, but I'm far from it. It doesn't really take into account muscle weighing much more than fat. As long as you're still fairly lean, put on as much weight as you want.
Oh you, guys. I pick the 5x5 workout anyways.
So, what's your opinion on strength vs endurance in the long term?
endurance is something else, strength is something else, size is something else, power is something else....

Who me?
Is my body "balanced"? I can squat 185x5(almost ATG), deadlift 275 for 5, but bench 140 for 5. I'm asking because i feel likke my numbers are lagging compared to other people, though i know that everyone's different, bluh bluh
[QUOTE=swat99;37920456]When I was 130lbs at 5'6 I looked skinny as fuck. 130lbs at 5'11 is gonna have you looking like slenderman[/QUOTE]
This.
I looked like a twig when I was 190lbs and 5'11.

Calling bullshit on this
I'm struggling with triggering hypertrophy in the lower area of my quad's, in the area where it meets the knee. Up towards my hip my quads pop out like fucking horse legs, but they look like twigs at the knee area. I've been doing 5x5 squats and all kinds of squat variations.
what do?

I have kind of the opposite going on :v:

Considering he's fat, "twig" probably means "not a whale" to him.

being 190 at 5'11 is either fat as fuck, or shredded kunt
When I was at 190 I wasn't fat as fuck but I was getting a bit chubby. Was around 15 percent bodyfat I'd say.

lol pls
you people and your bird like bone structures
i dont even have a large bone structure compared to some people I know. After a year of not lifting, just running, playing football and eating regularly I weigh 240lbs.
Nice, 5% bodyfat I assume :) ?
No, I look like an average person. Not lifting and running will do that too you. Idk my bodyfat. I just look, well, average. Kinda bones, but in a few weeks I'll start lifting again, as soon as footballs over. I took a pic in the bathroom, I'll upload it in a few minutes.
Just dropping by, gonna start 5x5 this coming week after moving and I'll stop by the local store to pick up some protein shake powder. I'm about 187 lbs and 6'4'', no idea about my bodyfat, probably around 16-17% which I'm gonna change.
I'm starting 5x5 next week too. Picking up my own power rack and 150kg of olympic weights + bar on Saturday, pretty excited.

update on the powerlifting part of my gym
I joined, met some cool like 70 year old coach called Brian, he taught me basic form on oly lifting moves. turns out im not as swole as i thought i am... can barely clean and snatch 60kg. he was impressed with a good intial lift, but fuck im disapointed.
[editline]8th October 2012[/editline]
oh and there is like; 4 swole guys, 2 russian powerlifting jesuses, 1 special kid with retard strength and 3 guys my age who are all aushwitz.
So I live to far away from a gym to use it everyday which means I have to workout at home. All I have is a bench, 2 dumbbells, and a barbell. I have about 160lbs in combined weight that I can use (I can always get some more weights)
100lbs for bench
25lbs for each dumbbell
50lbs for barbell
Can anyone let me know if the best possible combination of work out routines I can perform with these? And then how much I should increase the weight by?

not much to do with a 50 lb bar, you could curl it, press it. bout it.
for the dumbs you could do some shoulder work. bout it.
as for your bench... i wouldnt recommend using it as a weight.
aside from that stick to bodyweight stuff, dips, pull-ups, planks, pushups, squats etc
[editline]8th October 2012[/editline]
you could also squat with the bar... for a little extra resistance
Might as well pick up creatine monohydrate and maybe protein powder. Getting tired of being static weight.
