Weightlifting/Bodybuilding Thread V.4 - I wanna look like that guy from Fight Club

K so I did bench presses, with lower weight, actually going all the way to my chest instead of going about 1-2inches above it. But I noticed that it seems to go like really damn low. I don't know if I just can't arch my back enough, or the bench is too low, but it seemed like something wasn't quite right.
Also, I think I've been squatting kinda wrong, at least when I'm in to my 4/5 set. It seems when I'm a bit tired and working on finishing up my last sets, I like to scoot my butt out and I guess basically use more of my back to rise back up from the squat. I only got to 3 reps on set 4 because of this. But I think it's partly due to the damn smith machine. It's so fucking annoying to get under the bar and take it off the pegs, only to have to adjust my stance to make sure the fucking hooks don't clip pegs during a squat, which they usually do anyways.
But so between trying to get the best possible arch while bench pressing and using too much of my back for squats, I went home with an achy back. It's not injured, but it's a bit sore. Shit is frustrating, especially since I just bypasses my own bodyweight (155 lbs) for both squats and benching. I mean how am I having these problems now. Why didn't they happen earlier?
Rule from now on: everyone that smith squats has to suck at least 10 cocks per rep(JaegerMonster will be happy).
I got no other option so I guess I shall become the gayest squatter that ever wass
ALL they have at my shit gym are smith machines

Because cardio kills your gains

Gaining is a slow process. I would check and see if your diet is up to par with the amount of activity you do during the week.

Yeah, I eat around 3000 cal a day, but I may do too much exercise for that. I'll check the amount of exercise.

Cardio burns both muscle and fat at the same time. Why do you think fat people who don't lift and only does cardio turns out later to be skinnyfat/auswitch
I thought cardio burning muscle was broscience. I run twice or thrice a week and I have no problems with gains.
Although you obviously need extra calories if you do cardio also.
Yeah, to have good gains I keep my cardio sessions to medium-intensity twice/thrice a week, anything more than that and you're asking to minimize your gain alot.
Still, I wouldn't risk doing cardio and killing mah gains

wtf lmao
Cardio doesn't burn muscle, unless you mean like muscles are broken down and then rebuilt but somewhat bigger. I always thought that cardio ruins (muscle) gains because you need to eat more in order to compensate for the calories that cardio burned.
[/possible broscience]
jaeger please help
Fat people who lose weight super fast end up looking dyel because of how fast they lost weight, not because they did cardio. If you cut on a 3000+ cal deficit, you'd lose a shitload of muscle as well. Technically, if those people were to cut on a 500 cal deficit and do it the slow and steady way (which would take forever, why they don't do it), they could actually end up revealing a nice physique that has developed over years of hauling around hundreds of pounds/the strongest bulk ever, provided loose skin doesn't ruin it.
Cardio simply increases your deficit, really. If you eat at a surplus, you can do all the cardio in the world and won't lose gains. A lot of people trying to lose weight do cardio because they're rather create a deficit that way over just eating less.
Doing cardio BEFORE lifting can make you feel like you're losing gains because the cardio depleted glycogen deposits before you ever picked up anything heavy. The whole "cardio kills gains" thing is one of the dumbest broscience myths around.
After my exams (currently doing them) I will be doing a lot more cardio and not over eating (ie. eating like a normal person) as well as drinking a lot of green tea and water. I want to get my abs popping, I've never had a body that's slim and very toned at the same time, always just really skinny.
If all goes well I'll post a picture. :)

You'd better be doing planks as part of your routine or else I'll slap you on your titties

Planks are easy mang, got very strong core muscles. I prefer doing leg raises though, much more fun.
Actually I like doing reps of these bitches

That's easy mode, try doing it in hoops with your arms by your sides.
