Making Facepunch better - Don't post about ratings

Making me a mod would be a good start thanks for your support in the upcoming election folks.
Speaking of icons, there should be a way to reset your flag or something as for some reason my flag says Russia and I have never been to Russia and/or used any kind of proxy or VPN
[QUOTE=~Kiwi~v2;47770218]Robotboy said it was by post but for whatever reason it isn't working and is still going by reg ip.
Robotboy update on that?[/QUOTE]
I haven't looked into this since then, still no idea what IP it is using, vbulletin is a MESSSSSSS.
[QUOTE=Reagy;47767571]Right lets just iron this out.
Windows Phone: The icon colour [I]changes per what model of Lumia you use, 730 = Blue/Purple depending on who it is from, 930 = Blue/Red depending on who it is from, 735 = Blue[/I]
Windows 8: Black
Windows 8.1: Blue (Officially it's a dark blue)
Windows 10: Officially, its white or Cyan.
For all points and purpose
Windows Phone 8: should be left as Red or made Purple.
Windows 8: Black (it works)
Windows 8.1: Either turn into Dark Blue or leave it as the global Windows Blue Icon.
Windows 10: Officially it's white but as this can't be done on this forum colour pallet, either swap it with the global Windows Blue Icon which is currently used for 8.1 or use that multicolour Windows logo which is used a placeholder by Microsoft themselves.
Or alternatively, shut the fuck up.[/QUOTE]
Why can't we just have Windows 8/8.1/10 use the same icon, all WP use the same icon and then people can hover over the image to see the specific version? Unless for some reason I'm missing it's vital that people see what version of Windows they're using?
this thread owns and robot man owns
i also just realized we have the late rating back. anyone remember when ratings were literally changed to just agree/disagree/funny?
As for something that's not icons:
Can we get a syntax highlighting BBCode for several common languages?
[code][code][/code] only does Lua (I believe) and looks really weird for anything that isn't Lua. The ability to specify a language would be nice.
something that is relatively fixable:
there's like three different versions of memberpage: member.php?u=123, members/123, and members/member.php?u=123
can you fix it so it's all member.php?
[QUOTE=~Kiwi~v2;47771790]I remembered to ask thanks to someone.
Can us Aussies and NZers get a much better flag. It's just the differences between the AU/NZ is kinda hard for some and I even I can understand that.[/QUOTE]

Don't see it happening unless vbulletin is updated
That's never happening

Think subforums that have a lowercase description could get updated to have an upper case? Its kinda not a big deal, but its annoying.
Can you make it so we can position the location of videos?
Instead of having videos being in the middle and the middle only, we can have it to the left or right more.
it would make OP layouts more appealing.
For example.
[url]http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1466063&p=47747145#post47747145[/url]
Everything is on the right, nice and lovely, but then you see the video and it's in the middle and the flow of the layout is ruined.

I recall a short while where we had control over left/center/right justification and super/subtext and it was a trainwreck. Some things lingered explicitly for OP posts but that vanished over time as well
Oh god.. With Garry's birthday, and all these new bans. I need the ability to rate comments in the refugee camp again..

it's for purpose
Another issue: image.php won't always output the most recent avatar for someone without a current dateline parameter (no, it's not a clientside cache issue). So the avatars on the front page are sometimes outdated.
The postbit obviously does this right, so you should just be able to copy code from there.

I think mods removed that feature intentionally, tho not sure why.

It made people feel like they had an audience - encouraging permabanned users to blog for months. Also people would Agree with banned users and Disagree with mods which they disliked for obvious reasons.

Did you even read the OP?
What if ratings weren't visible to the banned person in the RC?
What was the point of removing ratings in the first place?

it has been a problem for a long time when the peanut gallery undermines mod actions (like being popular in a thread you got banned in meant a lot of backup rating hearts/agrees/winners on a person's plea, makes the person feel they were in the right and they don't learn a lesson about shitting up threads like they had been).
it's why when golds could post RC threads, you were under threat of heavy/permanent bans for fucking shit up instead of being helpful.
you should change the title to "read the op and get banned" because no one reads the op after they read it the first time, there's no indication that it was ever changed or there was a FAQ
hell i didn't even know there was a FAQ

make dumb the only rating
Could you somehow make it easier to rate while browsing on a smartphone?
I've accidentally rated/mis-rated because of how it works.

Yes, it could do with some tweaking, but I'm not sure how. It's also difficult to deal with ratings (such as giving a rating or hitting list) when there are many types of ratings on a post.

This used to work better, but recent changes messed with the scaling.
On both my tablet and my phone the list is now impossible to hit - the tap will instead pass through to the rating button behind it.
