Making Facepunch better - Don't post about ratings

[QUOTE=benjojo;47878727]Hi! I work on the WAF (the captcha thing that is most likely causing you issues) at CloudFlare, if you RobotBoy/Garry can raise a ticket with our support I can take a look at why the hell that is happening.[/QUOTE]
I swear FP has a user that works at every company on the internet
[QUOTE=Robotboy655;47879247]I don't have any access to any of Cloudflare on this website ( or any other ), you can replicate the issue yourself by posting ( and in most cases editing ) posts. The "Enter captcha" thing seems to only occur if you start editing a post numerous times in short timespan, and in some cases after entering the captcha it just redirects to to a white page not sending the content.[/QUOTE]
I found out it happens quite a lot when trying to post code (html, c++, etc)
Its only happens to me when I take a long time making a new thread

It probably thinks you're trying to do script injection.
Which is retarded as long as it's in the [code] tag.

[sp2]How does no one know about this?[/sp2] When did this get added?
Any chance there will be a mobile compatible version of Facepunch? I'm not asking for an app just if there will ever be a more compatible way to view on my phone?
the power of css animation compels you to spoiler tag posts
Looks cool, but it should stay unblurred if you click it
Blur the entire rust subforum thanks
[QUOTE=darth-veger;47876404]Once again, please remove that godawful Cloudflare captcha thing when posting a thread. I now have to redo a entire thread because once again you get redirected to a blank page.[/QUOTE]
You should get in the habit of ctrl+Aing and ctrl+Cing your posts before clicking submit just to be safe.

Fancy but the transition is WAAAYYY too slow.
[QUOTE=wingless;47880980]Fancy but the transition is WAAAYYY too slow.[/QUOTE]
It's a spoiler tag, of course it is slow.
[QUOTE=James xX;47880587][sp2]How does no one know about this?[/sp2] When did this get added?[/QUOTE]
Oh cool, it works on mobile if you tap on it.
[QUOTE=wingless;47880980]Fancy but the transition is WAAAYYY too slow.[/QUOTE]
Work better really, give you a chance to realise you're being an idiot and pull your mouse back before it's too late.
It makes it obvious when someone pads out a spoiler though
Snape [sp2]______________kills____________[/sp2] Dumbledore

[sp2]Snape loves Dumbledore.[/sp2]
Problem solved.

So.. you can't abuse them as effectively anymore. Sounds like a good thing.
Snape and Dumbledore [sp2]aren't actually real, it's all a hallucination, Harry's in an asylum.[/sp2]
[sp2]I'm just wondering if this one [b]properly[/b] [i]parses[/i] [url=http://www.example.com]BBCode[/url]. [sp]Because [i]OG spoilers[/i] don't.[/sp][/sp2]

Nope.

Sorry if I sound dumb (I'm quite illiterate on web development), but couldn't you just parse the inner string and then apply the tags?
clicking on spoiler tags only to have it bring you to another webpage is really shitty. For hover spoilers it would be OK, but not for click spoilers. Although I don't like having actual spoilers contained in hover spoiler tags since you can accidentally hover over them and read something you didn't want to read.
IMO these new hover spoilers have a neat effect, but I think they would only be useful in cases where it is a joke spoiler tag/spoiler abuse, not when there are actual spoilers involved.

I figured that was probably why original spoilers didn't parse [url[b][/b]] (though the reasoning behind everything else being disabled still escapes me), but with [sp2[b][/b]] the text itself is still the same color, so if there was a link it'd be a blue blur instead of a black one.

to have [sp2] work over other bbcode tags like img is on my wishlist atm.
What I liked about sp is that clicking made it visible until reload
although selecting text in sp2 is the alternative

So, with everybody using and talking about the new SP2 tags, it has come to my attention that I am apparently the only person who has regular SP tags reveal on hover.
Everybody was talking about how people might potentially spoil something for themselves with SP2 by accidentally hovering over them, and I was very confused, because the regular SP tags had always done that for me...
I have no user scripts/extensions other than the FP dark theme, so I don't know what that's about.

there should be a real spoilers tag like [rsp] or something for when it is a real spoiler and the only way to view it is to select it. It would look different from the normal spoiler tag, maybe a different color like dark red, and if you used it when it wasn't an actual spoiler you would be banned, and everyone would know not to use that shit unless it was a real spoiler, or unless you wanted to be banned

Your browser is showing as Opera for me, maybe that is something that happens because of your browser? Not sure. For me [sp] only shows when you highlight it, or click it.
On ticker mentions, is there any way to make it so that mentions only appear if the text is visible in the post? I see people use a trick with email tags or editline tags to hide a bunch of usernames in a post to spam mentions.
Bring back Bad Spelling and Bad Reading. Add a system to where you can track your ratings and turn winner back to goldstar. Reinstate the auto-banning system and bring back smartness on top of post count.

I think robotboy mentioned multiple times that those ratings aren't making a return

He said it's not in his power. So this isn't the place to fight for it.
And bad reading isn't that important either.
