idk who didn't like sp2, i liked it a lot. it was much less distracting than huge blocks of black lines.
and also now all the spoilers are shown
I believe the issue was lack of support amongst all browsers, compared to SP which has no issues. Mobile browsers would generally not blur enough, non-text elements wouldn't consistently blur across browsers, and certain browsers wouldn't blur anything at all.
The mods have shown that abuse/preference doesn't matter, so that's the likely explanation

I don't get why sp2 didn't get turned into an alias for sp, though.
Right now, all spoilers hid with sp2 are perfectly visible. Making it work exactly like sp would prevent that, even if it was removed after a few weeks.
Is there a way to convert all current SP2 lines to SP somehow? Because a lot of people used it instead of SP so now a lot of spoilers are out there
Uhh... who let the doctor onto the forums?

Has Facepunch always had this much trouble with spam bots?
Has Facepunch always had this much trouble with spam bots?
You see them sometimes but I've never seen a bot make 20 threads in 2 minutes
Yeah that was pretty amazing. There's been some talk about limiting the number of threads/hour a new account can make. Should be able to limit some of the worst spam.

It's a very popular and visited forum worldwide
makes it a good target unfortunately

You could also disable thread creation for users that has less than 25-ish posts

What about all those poor people who wish to join and advertise their servers? On a slightly more serious note, I've seen people join to ask a lua related question, or ask for help with a bug on their server.

Then just allow a single thread per day for users that has lower than 25 posts or something :v:
I think minimum of ~10 post, with FT not counting as boosting post

It never made sense to allow newly joined users with no backhistory to suddenly start posting a lot of threads in Sensationalist Headlines to make their racist cause known.
So, I was wondering if there were any plans to reintroduce the old functionality of tags?
The best things about them was that they allowed for drop-down boxes of images, so they were useful for nsfw posts in threads like the DAAS.
would probably be useful to change SP2 to that kind of openable thing, so you can hide massive paragraphs, image dumps, spoiler junk, or literally the entire DAAS thread
I liked the SP2 blur thing but if it was too incompatible I'm sad to see it go. faster transitions and holding in place would have been nice if it was more stable across devices. I was hoping to play around with it a bit more but I guess it's gone forever

SJW's killed my dog and left my milk out on the bench to expire
Can we have sp2 just blackout like sp? I just got a lot of GoT spoiled for me
Can we have sp2 just blackout like sp? I just got a lot of GoT spoiled for me
Blame postal for telling everyone about it.
If you see [sp2] in the post, dont read it.
I don't want to make [sp2] the same as [sp] because people would just keep using [sp2] and I don't want that.
Just make it the same but without clicking so its worse.

First of all: Why would they? thats one extra character for them to type (two actually)
Second of all: I don't want to sound rude, but why do you actually care? like seriously

Could we have this as sp2 then?
What exactly was the issue with sp2 anyways?
What exactly was the issue with sp2 anyways?
people using it incorrectly, not as a spoiler but just a tedious way to get someone to read something

That was just the usual something-is-new-on-facepunch shitposting though
On the subject of cracking down on spammers and gimmicks, I did suggest turning the spambot and alt detection back on a while back. Anything to share on that front by any chance?
