What the Hell, I think we being hit. I have no idea where the explosions coming from.
What the Hell, I think we being hit. I have no idea where the explosions coming from.
Stay safe, Yemeni fellow. I just started following your Tumblr - your art is great.
Stay safe, Yemeni fellow. I just started following your Tumblr - your art is great.
Thank you in both terms about art and safety. I just got reports from my friend about the situation. So apparently a bunch of Aircrafts has been flying around the city for some time, People were celebrating for the Yemen Unity Day. basically a traditional holiday in Yemen. until of course somehow the air crafts found some rigged cars filled with bombs. as the way my friend described it. the best solution they did was simply to blow up the cars. the blast radius must had been huge since even the doors were shaking.
Gee, I hope that didn't sour the mood of Unity Day too much.
It has been a month, anything new? I hope you are alright.
It has been a month, anything new? I hope you are alright.
Seems to be a normal life for Wheatley Grim. There is always Doubts in this situation but honestly feels like wars over for now. or has been for several months. electricity isn't fixed at all. it has never been a new thing in this country, even before the war Electricity seemed to be a old problem, it is basically very laughable in this day and age. and we still can't maintain electricity. oh well old habits never die, the only reason Solar Panels existed is because patrol became very expensive to the point that buying a Solar Panel is considered much cheaper than spending Patrol for your generator in a month. As for the streets. seems alive like the old days. especially in this Month. did you know they started building so many new Malls? it's nice to see empty dust and broken bricks turn into something lovely for the eye for once. but would be nice if the lamps on the streets actually work. only light sources from the stores around the streets. Nothing on the sky though. no aircrafts or sounds of missiles going off. just Empty sky with moonlight. As for me what to say? am never going to be the same neither am I going to act same from before the war. sure I have been through some rough times but who to say how a person reacts when he wakes up at 6am morning and suddenly am in a War where I could have died at any given moment. I spent too many nights in the dark I lost count on how long the war has gone on at the past. But hey I gain the ability to do art somehow so it's not so bad after all? now my old empty desk is filled with so many sketches and overly used pencils which I should probably throw out at some point. waking up doesn't feel like a death sentence for me and I can step outside without fearing as much as before. I actually appreciate how some people actually come back to this thread and asking about my status. it is very welcoming to know people care about my situation. Thank you. you have been a great help.
What gave you motivation to keep going?
What gave you motivation to keep going?
If am being honest. I have absolutely no idea. maybe how birds are singing in the morning? I sometimes have anxiety at night. and all the sudden I hear birds singing. like it was nothing wrong. very calming indeed. or Maybe it just an instinct since no one really wants to die especially in such a young age as I am. even though I wasn't exactly put in the middle of the battlefield the missiles didn't help increasing our chances of living. So what was I motivated? since basically the first few months I had gone into a depression and clinging on my bed hoping to dear life it was just a dream I mean missiles in a citizen areas? I must be dreaming. Slowly you get used to it I mean sure I can't describe the feeling I had before. I wouldn't even want to post anything in here if I still felt like what I did before. I had my family with me they're very supportive ,although it only helped a little to comprehend the situation. So I was alone at the morning. no electricity, I had a very dusty sketchbook from 10 years ago. and I started sketching away ignoring time and current situations until it's over. it made me feel much better. To summarize it all: Distraction. Distractions are nice. or even Hobbies are more calming. do something pretty. something fun. build something maybe. anything that you can put on your wall or desk that shows you did something for yourself other than being sad in your bed.
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Electricity has been opened. not electricity from the solar panels or the smelly generator filled patrols. Normal Functional Electricity that modern cities should have from the city's electric factory. IT'S BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND WE FINALLY GOT ELECTRICITY. AND SOMEONE SHIT ON THE TOILET AND DIDN'T FLUSH. The streets are filled with light. it's almost surreal how bright and wonderful it looks now.
So will you have to pay the bills now
So will you have to pay the bills now
Oh dear. I forgot bills existed. In a serious note am not sure. this is all sudden and new at the moment. I can't confirm anything until the next day.
I was surprised to see this thread here, I'm in Syria and it's same situation if not worse
I was surprised to see this thread here, I'm in Syria and it's same situation if not worse
I hope for your safety and nothing bad comes on your way.
I hope for your safety and nothing bad comes on your way.
thanks man, you too
It's really nice to hear that your situation improved. Long-term conflict is the worst thing to experience because of how much it drains people of both material things and mental wellbeing.
Hey Wheatley, since you are a Yemeni fellow, is it true that you have your own special dagger that you carry around with you? Or did they put a stop to that when the fighting started up?
Hey Wheatley, since you are a Yemeni fellow, is it true that you have your own special dagger that you carry around with you? Or did they put a stop to that when the fighting started up?
Well it's more of a tradition. you can choose to own one and wear it or basically wear it in special occasions such as a Wedding, it's not mandatory and no they didn't stop owning it when the war happened. although I do believe there might have been less people wearing it.
It's really nice to hear that your situation improved. Just checking in to ask how you're doing, is it all still stable? Also how's your drawing going?
Just checking in to ask how you're doing, is it all still stable? Also how's your drawing going?
Same old same. quite boring actually. somehow the Internet got worse through the days. to the point where am absent in every sort of online gaming. mostly because all games these days seems to like launch 9gbs content per update. but luckily It turns out I actually installed a few games at the past that I haven't played yet. so that's something. regardless of all that nothing has really changed. just peaceful as the old days. plus the fact the electricity is back up (Although it still turns off at times) makes it more believable that there is some problems being fixed. I wonder if I can travel for a lovely holiday someplace else? How's my drawings going? Never been good at drawing myself so I can't give the best critique, but I really like the new shading on the inside of the arms and the smaller mouth does look better. One tip I hear every now and then is that you should try and use less lines, as in you should practice until you can get that head shape in as little movements of the hand as possible. [editline]2016[/editline] Wow you've got some really nice stuff on your tumblr! Scrolling through it I can certainly see a clear improvement.

I agree with your advice although the previous post I kinda slacked off in the drawings though as I tried to finish it as fast as possible. I just started practicing art last year so there's still room for improvement.
Okay so am going to write this quick. Am hearing some really large flying sausages so am going to quickly open up my windows a little bit so the windows don't go break on me due to pressure and am going to hid somewhere safe really fucking quick. I should not be typing this. [editline]10th August 2016[/editline] How am I still alive? What the hell was that about? there wasn't any explosions, just really loud aircrafts. I wonder why. Am never going to get used to this.

I know how shitty of a situation it must be over there, but stay strong.
Hey you actually pretty decent in Arabic. keep practicing and you will get good at it (Also I can't type arabic because the keyboard aren't translated) But thanks though.
Sounds like some pilots decided to buzz the place. Fighter jocks can be assholes like that.
Bloody hell I needed fucking ear buds if they going to keep doing that. I have not slept well yesterday well. the bombing was very annoying and waking up this morning felt like getting birthed by napalm. Alright so let's make a summary of what I did last month. As usually I spent my time with my best friend/neighbour most of my times. practicing art and basically self loathing. although I did spent a whole month fixing up old consoles. I literally found a Game Cube. SNE and a Dreamcast. they all actually function pretty well although the only one isn't working is the Super Nintendo. it's missing an adapter. regardless they all include discs and cartridges. The best part is they are very solar power friendly. the amount of power they use is very low compare to my laptop. I can easily play them without fearing about losing too many power. As for other things I had to throw out two dead kittens. one at night and the other the next morning. the first one died inside a car. somehow it trapped itself inside the fans and it wasn't pretty. as for the other kitten well it also died with the first kitten inside the car. but it was able to walk around the house. and it was completely headless. it didn't have a head. I heard my mother screaming bloody zombies when she found the blood trail leading up to her door. Also Restaurants are extremely terrible. most of the food we ordered are either Raw, dry or bland. I seen my friends make the servers take away their food twice. first because it's undercooked and second because they somehow replaced the cheese with paper. so at the moment am sticking to home cooked meals. There is significant improvements here though. many constructions are being build. so hopefully this city will feel more alive and less desert then it should be. I have also lost the ability to play online games mostly due to ping levels. But hey I got Metroid prime so am totally fine.
Am curious, you spoke of high ping, what is the internet situation like out there? DSL? Cable?
Am curious, you spoke of high ping, what is the internet situation like out there? DSL? Cable?
Cable. for your information I have never ever got under 100 ping. and since the war. the ping increased heavily. I can't even download any single player games that I bought because steam resets the download everytime a game gets updated.
the cat walked around without a head?
the cat walked around without a head?
not sure the full story. based on my mother's description. the head was cut off clean. and somehow it was dragged from the car to the garden. Although it could only mean two things. either the Mother Cat actually dragged her kitten herself out of the car to the garden or the kitten actually moved to the garden without a head. No one really knows since it seemed to have happened after midnight. we assume that the head is in the car cause well. the car engines was acting funny for a few hours.
Dear god what a horrible experience I have put myself into. What seemed like a normal suggestion turned into a warfare between nature. I suggested to my friends that we should walk to my house since it seemed fairly close. I should not have suggested that at all. The moment we walked on the road. rain started. and after that. it was hailing. we barely had any sort of cover for our heads. the ice were like cannons. we had to run extremely fast and find cover under a few buildings one by one. It was a dumb idea but we were already too far from the starting point so the only choice was to run to my house. my friends kept complaining. their hands hurt as hell as well as their heads. fully wet. and my vision was blurred to the coldness so it caused a fog on my glasses. our ear drums felt like it been knocked out by explosions. Thank god I had my keys with me the moment we reached the door. i thought I actually forgotten about it at home. the moment we entered inside. one of us fell flat to the floor to catch his breath. I was barely breathing. the other one needed to take off his clothes from the coldness. Each of us had a headache that felt like a baseball bat to the head. I had to make sure they both are still warm so I gave them both towels and closed off all windows. What a dumb idea I suggested, I never knew it would rain like this, or rather hail. We all tried to relax inside the living room until the hailing has stopped. the size of the ice could easily kill someone who is unaware or still walking out there I still have a headache. Bloody hell I should have wore a heavier jacket.
