This Origin shit has gone downhill from day one. I'm not usually a pessimist, but can they please just accept that this is not for them and give up? I mean, god damn.
uh this has nothing to do with Origin
-wall of Reddit posts-
Isn't a lot of that sort of illegal?
Sue the shit out of them.
Isn't a lot of that sort of illegal?
EA has a history of shitting on their workers. There was a big thing a couple of years ago by a whistleblower named ea_spouse or something.
Sue the shit out of them.
Gotta have money to hire lawyers.
you: You know what, forget it. You obviously aren't going to help me, so I'm just going to use this nice little crack I found to activate all my DLCs. I've already paid for them so you shouldn't even care. And just to be nice, I won't download Genesis or the 2nd Appearance Pack since I never bought them. I'll at least be nice about it. you: You can tell EA they've lost a customer for life you: I won't even be buying Mass Effect 3 because of this bull. you: I've been through 8 people, I can't believe it took me this long to figure out that EA doesn't care about people who've already paid them money. you: Not even going to try to convince me eh? you: Wow, not even going to be the one to disconnect? you: EA trains their service reps so well.
I hate to be that guy, but really, this is unwarranted self-importance, they won't care. Nobody at EA, especially the low-paid support guys, cares about the dramatic "You've lost a customer and also I'M GONNA DO THIS HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?!". This is the case with any company, or even group of people in general really. Regardless this is stupid and I really hope true losses for EA come sometime. At this point I don't care if actually good developers like DICE are affected, EA's fucked up the developing ability of every company they own/amoeba'd at this point.
EA has always been a shady company. No surprise here. The game developers are forced to meet unrealistic deadlines (hence why Battlefield 3 has so many glitches), get paid very little, and generally are forced to pretty much fuck over the people who buy their games in order to keep their jobs.
I stopped getting EA games after spore's secuROM busted by DVD drive.
Funny fact; my father worked next to an EA office for a while. It was a dead zone for cell phones.
And this is why companies shouldn't outsource support.
This is why I don't torrent all my games
And this is why companies shouldn't outsource support.
This is why companies should make it so he doesn't have to do this bullshit to begin with.
EA doesn't have Support Chat anymore apparently. You get redirected to the main support site, which is redesigned.
No they still have chat, it's just a roundabout way to get to it.

He just got screwed out of games he paid for and all they did was jerk him around.
No one should ever buy anything from EA because they have bad customer support? Does that mean no one should every buy Valve games either since their customer support is also terrible?

That is quite clearly bullshit. The part about the person on breathing support dying gave it away.
That is quite clearly bullshit. The part about the person on breathing support dying gave it away.
And a stupid support worker having such an insight in all the studios.
can't wait for mass effect 3
That is quite clearly bullshit. The part about the person on breathing support dying gave it away.
I don't think it is bullshit, as a matter of fact I will ask a support person about it.
No one should ever buy anything from EA because they have bad customer support? If Valve Customer support fucked up, I'm sure you could email Gabe or one of the other cool Valve guys and they'd fix it. Who am I supposed to email here?

The customer support employees aren't really EA employees so they probably don't know shit about anything, so it would be better to just contact someone who is from EA. I'm sure there's plenty of emails you can find on their website.
Try the small claims court (or whatever they have in the US)
I've never been screwed by EA, but plenty of times by Ubisoft. Thankfully the only EA games I play are Madden and technically Bioware games.
If Valve Customer support fucked up, I'm sure you could email Gabe or one of the other cool Valve guys and they'd fix it.
I know a guy whose Steam account was disabled because some dumbass didn't like his profile and reported it as hate speech. What's he supposed to do there?

Its fake. One of the reasons is that those breathing things have a backup power supply so stuff like that doesn't happen.
If it was actually hate speech, then it's his own damn fault.
If it was actually hate speech, then it's his own damn fault.
Except, it wasn't. That's just it, you can lose all your games (not just overpriced DLC) without any means of backing it up or defending yourself. And there are a lot of ways you can get your account disabled or VAC banned on Steam, and appealing it is useless. In other words, it's the same exact thing the OP is about. There's a fair number of people who have sworn off Steam because if something does happen to your account, there's fuck-all you can do about it. At least with EA, you can actually talk to a customer support rep and maybe get somewhere. I'm not saying EA is good, far from it, but the number of people acting as if Origin is terrible while Steam is the holy grail of customer support just smacks of fanboyism.

This thread makes me hate EA more, and fuck.. Just spent 20 minutes checking what charged my bank account because it was apparently EA that charged me (took some googling to find out). Seems that it charged my two days ago, and not when I bought the game initially, weird. Also, nothing but people from India on EA support now, I used to get a lot of Americans before.
