• Why No One Should Ever Buy from EA Games Again

i remember when i installed mirror's edge the securom shit made it so i could never play medieval total war 2 ever again and i had to buy it on steam. i researched the matter and basically the only way to retrieve the damage was to directly hire a lawyer and sue ea under some specific law safe to say i didn't do that
...I'm more upset that they discontinued the madden series for the PC Surprisingly madden 08 doesnt cut it anymore
I've been saying this about EA for ages, but retards will just keep lapping up their shit without question, and as a result this is one company who won't change shit, because they don't have any incentive too besides the millions going "Man EA fucking sucks, but... JEEZ THIS IS JUST SO MUCH FUN"
Don't you think you could possibly contact your bank about it? They would sort it out.
Gotta have money to hire lawyers.
you might get lucky and get a grant from the EFF, talk to them about it [editline]31st October 2011[/editline] when I got busted for piracy (read: my neighbor hopped on my unsecured public channel and downloaded sherlock holmes) they helped me out a good bit. I know this isn't the same sort of issue but it still falls under the realm of the kind of thing they're in for and they'll probably help. even if you don't think they will, ask. worst that can happen is that they can say no.
Alright buttsex, I sent EFF a message.
The transfer of accounts from eadm accounts to origin accounts deleted my battle field bad company 2 vietnam key, what a waste of 15 bucks.
Why couldn't the first guy just activate Cerberus on the main account in the first place is beyond me.
Regardless if it's fake or not, EA are massive dicks. It's a fact. You can disagree, rate dumb, whatever, the fact of the matter is they are and will continue to be dicks, because they can.
Why couldn't the first guy just activate Cerberus on the main account in the first place is beyond me.
Because Cerberus already existed on that account. He couldn't add it twice (or so he said). Of course I suppose he could've removed and re-added, but then that's a two step process.
Thank you for contacting the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). Unfortunately, the situation you describe is outside of EFF's area of focus. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is a small, grassroots legal advocacy non-profit focused on defending civil liberties and constitutional rights online with very limited resources. As such, we have a very important but narrowly focused mission and are not equipped to address all of the potential issues that escape our limited scope. I am sorry that we are unable to directly assist you and wish you the best of luck. Regards, Mark M. Jaycox Intake Coordinator (415) 436-9333, Ext. 128
Oh well, it was worth a shot.
Here's my story: I wanted veteran status on my Battlefield account, since I had owned a bunch of the old Battlefield games. However they were all on a different account. I asked EA support if they could transfer it or something, and then for some reason a lot of the Battlefields turned up on my Origin account. ...even 2142... which I'd never bought. Sweet free game.

People bitch to death about Activision, but Jesus, I hear a whole fuck ton of horror stories about EA. If even half of what that former tech support guy said is true, EA seriously needs to be investigated.
I have to disagree, every time I've had a problem with my account (wrongly disabled, payment glitches, etc) steam support has helped me smooth it all out.
I wish I could say the same. I was once given some TF2 items by a friend since he was "quitting" the game. He then reported me for scamming him and my account was suspended. Appealing the suspension got me my acount back but they still insist I was definitely scamming my friend and if I do it again my account will be deleted. Needless to say, that asshole isn't my friend anymore and I'm no longer as fond of the Steam support team.

Did you take screenshots of where he told you that he was leaving the game and agreed to give you the items? Those two things alone seem like they'd get you off the hook. Your story is a little fishy.

I call bullshit but I decided to drop it and be happy to have my account back.
Isn't that just... unlawful or something?

They can't just be like "You're accused of scamming sorry you're banned." and when you ask why, go "Sorry that's private." If they didn't tell you why they think you scammed him, how did you know it was about the hats?

I adore Valve as much as the next guy, I've just been assuming that I got the worst possible member of the support team for this case.
BF3 is the only thing and the last thing I will get on origin
I think it's safe to say 95% of the Origin userbase are there because of BF3. It's basically one of those things people feel like they have to deal with in order to get something they want, and that's just pathetic on EA's part.

Your account was unsuspended, you're fine. If they still think you scammed, oh well it's not like they can ever know for sure. Blame your asshole friend, not Steam Support. If it was E.A. your account would be suspended to the depths of Hades.
I quite like Origin, but this shit is unacceptable.
Why did you buy something unreliable from a virtual program? Just go to a store and buy.

That was insanely over dramatic and probably fake. Why would a simple support guy know anything about other studios?
Why did you buy something unreliable from a virtual program? Just go to a store and buy.
You can't. Just tell the support guys you wanna talk to their managers, usually gets shit done except doing nothing for 30 mins. I literally was talking to this guy over BF3 alpha problem for like 20 minutes and then he goes "Sorry I can't help you even if I could". I lost my shit at the fucker.
Dw I also found this out after finding two major vulnerabilities in the ea and origin sites which puts all user data and accounts at risk (on a similar level to Sony). I contacted support and ofcourse they knew nothing about anything but agreed to pass it on (gave me a 20% off coupon valid for a month -_-) then a week later nothing back problem still there. So this time i contact them again and get refered to the communications chick who is on holidays... Then refered to some other chick who hasn't replied since sending the email over a week ago. WTF ea why you no value customer and services!!
I was a dumb ass when I got the new xbox slim over a year ago. I couldn't find the hard drive and in attempt to find it, i accidentally peeled off one of the warranty stickers. later down the road, one of my friends bent the cd tray, and it wouldn't go in or out, so I sent it in, but they wouldn't do anything cuz the sticker :c it ended semi-well, cuz I got a third party company locally to repair it, but it cost 60 dollars :( Oh well. other than that, all support teams have kindly fixed my problem but that's only because.... [sp]they spoke english and knew what they were doing[/sp]
I had the same sort of problems with Dragon Age - it took forever to get it to recognize that my DLC worked. I was literally working on it for several days.
