lmao the last EA game i bought was BF2 never buying them again
Companies should NEVER complain about piracy if they treat their customers like this. They're putting it on themselves.
If you have taken the time to read this, I appreciate it. If you haven't, then that just shows how much EA really cares about its customers.
Nice job trying to guilt trip a CEO, I don't suppose you stopped for a second and thought he might be a busy man with shit to do did you? Or did you think that because Gabe had time to reply to every email to him that everyone else is like that? You may as well have just made a thread about how EA are worse than hilter and that Origin is out to get you.

I have 8 Veteran in BF3 because I tried to get my BF2 veteranship added and the support guy just added everything.
EA charged me 4 times for BF3 on my card, i bought it a week before it came out, and three duplicate charges showed up on my account a week later, almost wiping my account dry. I contacted EA and my bank, and I won't get my fucking money back for another week. I was supposed to put down a fucking deposit on an apartment with that money, thanks a fucking lot EA.
Should of got it from a retailer. Probably cheaper as well, was for me.
Yeah, I've definitely learned my lesson. Any games I buy online from this day forward will be from Steam. Never had a problem with them.
Steam support is lousy as hell too. Got reply after 3 days when, obviously, the offer was already over and it was of no use. But I chose the lesser evil.
I was charged twice for BF3, in the middle of emailing them...
I despise EA's support, it's the reason that, after being a massive Bf2 fanboy I decided not to get 3 and deal with Origin. They've screwed me out of about 15 dollars, due to DLC malfunctions in Mass Effect 2, and that made me never want to buy from them again (or at least no DLC). That being said, Sony Online is so so so so so so soooooo fucking bad. They've charged me 4 times when trying to pay for a subscription of Pirates of the Burning Sea, which coincides nicely with the amount of times I called Sony to get it fixed, it never did, but they gave me 2 months more to play the shitty, boring, and broken as fuck game that if I had known was that bad I would have never played. They also basically told me "tough shit" about the downloadable content I got with DCUO. I will never buy from Sony Online again, and I feel your pain about EA.
one of the main reasons i bought the disk for bf3 never going to use a credit card for EA games
I think it's safe to say 95% of the Origin userbase are there because of BF3.
And old republic eventually
I want to get BF3 so bad, but the fact that my money is going to a company that will drop support, stop patching, and give you the runaround 6 months after release is the only thing preventing me.
EA always seem to fuck up everything. Every time they've done something good, you don't have to wait long for them to redeem themselves as assholes.
I bought BF2 complete edition, lost the CD key. I had it registered to my account, so I figured I was ok, but it wasn't there. I decided that I would probably regret going through EA support. I think I'm glad I didn't.
EA really does suck with support. Found a funny comic about customer service on the Oatmeal (Great Site) http://theoatmeal.com/comics/customer_service That's pretty much what EA does
Once good game developers stop choosing it as a publisher, I'd love to stop buying games published by EA.
More people should choose valve to publish their games.
Exactly why I use Steam suppor-..... WAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIT
Once good game developers stop choosing it as a publisher, I'd love to stop buying games published by EA.
So you're going to continue buying things published by EA regardless of their business practices and teach them that it's okay to treat their customers like shit and they'll still buy stuff instead?
More people should choose valve to publish their games.
well, couple problems with this first, this is only an assumption, but I'm guessing Valve can't afford to fund developers the same way Activision or EA can secondly, and most importantly, it's the publishers that own IPs, so for example, even if DICE signed with Valve, they wouldn't be allowed to make battlefield games, not to mention Frostbite belongs to EA.

They have Steam, which is probably the most successful distribution system of all time, along with several AAA franchises like Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Half Life. I think they can afford to publish games. It's the fault of the developer for signing their IP over to the publisher in the first place. If developers would just, stop doing that, it would give them a lot more freedom with their games. Before anyone says that if they don't sign the IP over to the publisher they won't get published, that's bullshit. Bungie, developer of Marathon and Halo, recently signed a publishing deal with Activision, and that's all the deal is. Bungie has complete freedom over the IP and the development process and cycle, Activision just publishes it.

[editline]wef[/editline] also, comparing sales numbers, portal 2's sales came nowhere close black ops' sales, battlefield 3's sales surpassed it already, left 4 dead 2 is already 2 years old, with no news of a forthcoming game, not to mention the last half-life game came out in 2007 I mean, I don't doubt you when you say valve is very profitable, just I don't think they're at the same corporate level as Activision or EA
30,000,000 users on Steam and Valve gets a portion of every single sale. I'm sure they're making plenty.
Of course EA doesn't care about it's customers. It's a wealthy corporation that has tons of customers. Anyways, I feel for you, OP.
I find it funny because people actually want to trust Origin and EA just because DICE makes BF3, i stopped caring about EA products since the SecuROM install limit fiasco a couple of years back with Crysis Warhead and Spore. People say i'm a fucking idiot for being a Steam/Valve fanboy, and you know what you fags? i'm proud to be a valve fanboy because shit like this will never happen to us legit customers, not even if valve gets bigger than EA. EVER. This is also the reason i NEVER buy DLC, i take that back, i bought the dragonfly jet DLC for just cause 2 but only because i have only 60 cents at the time of the sale, but DLC is all together a terrible idea and i have said it since day one, DLC may not be a problem for you when you buy a 15 dollar map pack for MW2, but it affects the game industry and the domino effect spreads throughout the industry like cancer.
sigh, i used my credit card to buy BF3 and the card company only does paper for their credit cards so i wont know if EA double charged me until several weeks from now when i get my bill :\
