not that this has anything to do with origin, but origin was one of the reasons i didn't buy bf3. not the only reason, but it's definitely a reason. i don't like ea and i don't want to get a new client so ea can get more money. i might not even buy sw:tor anymore, even though i've been hyping and waiting for that game for years now.
You won't need an Origin account to play The Old Republic. It's still being published by EA, but at least they won't be able to fuck you over.
I feel bad for you folks who have such a miserable experience with EA's support. I must be the luckiest guy on the planet or something, as EA support has been nothing but helpful for me. Hope you can get this straightened out, OP.
I would suggest you set up a paypal donate button for your account, because I'd chip in five bucks for you after that shit But honestly, it'd be less hassle if you just pirated every EA game in future instead of giving them money.
Fuck EA I still have free battlefield and burnout paradise from some fucks up they did earlier Not installing origin though, fuck that program
I think it's really silly when someone threatens a big company like EA with the line "I will never buy your games again!". I don't think they give a fuck if you buy their games or not, because you're just one in a million and you're insignificant.

As long as they keep making a ton of sales, nothing will change.

EA sucks in every way possible.
Saw it on TV today, I lol'd after they tried to throw in anti-game propaganda.
well then, why do they sign it over to the publishers, if the alternative is clearly the better choice? [editline]wef[/editline] also, comparing sales numbers, portal 2's sales came nowhere close black ops' sales, battlefield 3's sales surpassed it already, left 4 dead 2 is already 2 years old, with no news of a forthcoming game, not to mention the last half-life game came out in 2007 I mean, I don't doubt you when you say valve is very profitable, just I don't think they're at the same corporate level as Activision or EA
Blackops, lmao you actually used that as an example. Activision is in no way behind how much money blackops makes, the brainless hordes are.
Blackops, lmao you actually used that as an example. Activision is in no way behind how much money blackops makes, the brainless hordes are.
Making cheap-ass DLCs and yet selling them at top price ($15 each, aka $60 for all of them) is kinda helping making money, especially when you're paying reviewers to make these sound awesome and when you basically program the game like they sound essential and shit. Sure there were fucktons of people who blindly bought black ops, a new console with it and all the DLCs (I bought the game on PC for 30£ on release thanks to a website), but Activision is responsible for exploiting a naive young demographic.
I was a dumb ass when I got the new xbox slim over a year ago. I couldn't find the hard drive and in attempt to find it, i accidentally peeled off one of the warranty stickers. later down the road, one of my friends bent the cd tray, and it wouldn't go in or out, so I sent it in, but they wouldn't do anything cuz the sticker :c it ended semi-well, cuz I got a third party company locally to repair it, but it cost 60 dollars :( Oh well. other than that, all support teams have kindly fixed my problem but that's only because.... [sp]they spoke english and knew what they were doing[/sp]
Reminds me of one of my old PCs. It had a warranty sticker on the back of it that made it impossible to open the case without destroying the sticker (and invalidating the warranty). So I couldn't effectively clean the dust out of it without screwing the warranty. When the CD drive failed near the end of the 2-year warranty period, they wanted to charge me for clearing out the dust bunnies. They dropped the matter when I pointed out the stupid sticker...
Ps , if you want to rape a major company. You find the major areas games are bought from. Make a lovely presentation with research , to find the cheapest games. Then distribute this lovely video on youtube or some other popular video/informational area that is free, as a informational and helpful guide to various other stores that exist and are overlooked. As well as using a similar store in your area as a example of better customer service, and satisfaction. They will experience a huge profit cut if you are intelligent enough to pull this off. While the often cheaper stores will experience a huge increase, and thus hurting no one ,but the big company which can afford to have losses. I personally say rally under a movement, and call it something funny so that it spreads. Get a few friends from over the internet to help you find these areas that are often overlooked by asking them for such in their areas that they live.
That really really really sucks, and I feel bad for buying Mass Effect 1! Hope you get your shit figured out.
I find it funny because people actually want to trust Origin and EA just because DICE makes BF3, i stopped caring about EA products since the SecuROM install limit fiasco a couple of years back with Crysis Warhead and Spore. People say i'm a fucking idiot for being a Steam/Valve fanboy, and you know what you fags? i'm proud to be a valve fanboy because shit like this will never happen to us legit customers, not even if valve gets bigger than EA. EVER. This is also the reason i NEVER buy DLC, i take that back, i bought the dragonfly jet DLC for just cause 2 but only because i have only 60 cents at the time of the sale, but DLC is all together a terrible idea and i have said it since day one, DLC may not be a problem for you when you buy a 15 dollar map pack for MW2, but it affects the game industry and the domino effect spreads throughout the industry like cancer.
you're proud to be a fanboy, fucking what you should be ashamed to be a fanboy of anything really
Am I the only one with issues related to "neverending" bf3 downloads? It's already 14.3gb but it claims the game size is actually 11.4gb. WHAT THE ORIGIN?
Steam support is lousy as hell too. Got reply after 3 days when, obviously, the offer was already over and it was of no use. But I chose the lesser evil.
Not to come off as a Valve fanboy or anything. But while Steam's support is very, very slow. They always fix things for you in the end. At least in my experience with them.
Not to come off as a Valve fanboy or anything. But while Steam's support is very, very slow. They always fix things for you in the end. At least in my experience with them.
I agree 100%. I've never had any issue that steam support couldn't resolve, they always speak perfect understandable English, and they've never taken more than 24 hours to respond to me. More companies need to take a page from Valve's book on how to run a company. More happy customers buying games will outweigh money saved by underpaying untrained people in other countries.
Blizzard is good at this stuff.
I do like Valve and Steam, but I can't say anything about the support. But I've never had a problem in the (3 or so?) years I've had an account, which I'm sure should say something.
Between EA and its poor attempts at mimicking Steam by forcing millions of people into using something they don't want and Blizzard requiring a constant internet connection/monitoring every messages sent for Diablo 3, the gaming industry is having some sad days. I'm not buying BF3, and I probably won't buy Diablo 3. Most companies nowadays are way too corrupt, I now buy only stuff that's on Steam, but also it musn't use any third party software. I remember the nightmare I had with Bad Company 2 or Bioshock 2. "Welcome to your game ! Create an account online in order to play! If you do not create an account, the game will close!"
you're proud to be a fanboy, fucking what you should be ashamed to be a fanboy of anything really
You idiot, don't you understand that fanboyism doesn't apply for digital distribution, Steam's future monopoly is the best thing that will happen to everything May i even remind you that if it wasn't for valve you wouldn't be posting that in the first place Garry wouldn't be rich Digital distribution would still be frowned upon by publishers must i go on?
There's this guy on FP that got charged twice for BF3 on origin, he told EA support and they said that they couldn't do anything about it. what horrible people
See this is why people love Steam, you can email actual developers, have good support, and fair sales prices.
EA games blows. They mind as well be a large asshole, because all they do is produce shit.
I had a friend who had a problem logging in ad they asked for his birthday, which didnt work for some reason, they then asked him if he had another birthday. He just flipped shit that they kept asking for another birthday. Who has 2 birthdays? Also if youre buying an EA game look in amazon. I got bf3 $13 cheaper by preordering the pc download version.

The priced ones are worse, but still, they're great if they're worth it. Things like Borderlands DLC. Most of those were worth it, I enjoyed it a lot. Hell, Secret Armory of General Knox was better than an entire game (CoD Black Ops) and not just in comparison to the price. The game itself was just better.
This is why i pirate all the games that are single player only (User was banned for this post ("Warez." - Seiteki))
