send money to Bioware directly, skip EA. [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] like through snail mail or something
I already gave up on buying EA games for the computer (and largely EA games in-general) not so much for incidents like this, but for their shitty Steam knock-off download manager that ran slow as hell. Really, the only company that has ever given a shit when I talked customer support was Valve. And even then, whatever problem I was having with Steam was just something they, I, or anyone else simply could not fix.
I thought you were never going to buy anything from EA ever again.
It's meant to be taken as "he's going to get me a copy of Mass Effect 3 for free but he can't reserve it for me this early."
I thought you were never going to buy anything from EA ever again.
You act as if facepunch isn't full of hypocrites.
Blizzard is good at this stuff.
Official RMT in diablo 3, having to always be online in that game too to be able to play even the single player. Shitting all over world of warcraft with easy lorebreaking expansion after easy lorebreaking expansion.
EA kinda ripped me off by not letting me get a spore account, when the game is heavily advantaged by having one.
You idiot, don't you understand that fanboyism doesn't apply for digital distribution, Steam's future monopoly is the best thing that will happen to everything May i even remind you that if it wasn't for valve you wouldn't be posting that in the first place Garry wouldn't be rich Digital distribution would still be frowned upon by publishers must i go on?
You shouldn't be a fanboy of anything because it implies you blindly follow something, regardless of quality. I like and support Steam because I've never had any problems with it. I dislike Origin because I've had nothing but problems with it. However, if that ever turned around with Steam being shit and Origin being awesome, I'd support Origin.
Fixed* . That is basically what you're trying to say.
That is quite possibly one of the most retarded comparisons I have ever seen. He has a point. You should NEVER be blindly loyal to anyone or anything.
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I just got a call from Russell Watson (the executive in my above post). All of my DLC is now authenticating correctly with my original account. He also told me to shoot him an email around the release time of ME3. (Apparently even employees can't reserve/pre-order things this soon).
That's great news, let's just hope he actually answers your mail once you can pre-order the game. But darn, it took you a while to get all your things back, should've taken like 2 days top.
Fixed* . That is basically what you're trying to say.
Except if hitler didn't have problems he wouldn't be the controversial figure we know him as today.
:Godwin:
Well my Dragon Age: Origins is working, they claim i dont own it, yet i have it on my list?
if you actually pay money for any non-indie game, you're a mug
if you actually pay money for any non-indie game, you're a mug
What if the developer is cool, like Valve?
if you actually pay money for any non-indie game, you're a mug
So you're implying we should pirate everything? Cause if that's the case you're not very smart. If everyone pirated everything, developers would stop making games for us.
if you actually pay money for any non-indie game, you're a mug
Sorry for supporting the developers.
So you're implying we should pirate everything? Cause if that's the case you're not very smart. If everyone pirated everything, developers would stop making games for us.
Look at Ubisoft (Albeit they inflicted it on themselves). They're doing exactly this.
Always on DRM. I miss the old days when you just had to put the CD in every time you wanted to play.
Look at Ubisoft (Albeit they inflicted it on themselves). They're doing exactly this.
Exactly why Ubisoft is one of the devs/publishers/whatever that I won't buy games from anymore.
Look at Ubisoft (Albeit they inflicted it on themselves). They're doing exactly this.
Sometimes I think it's less that people pirate the fuck out of PC ubisoft games and more that nobody wants to buy ubisoft games on the PC with all the shitty DRM they want to load it down with and then they blame piracy and get worse DRM and then less people buy it and it turns into one of those vicious cycles.
Why doesn't everyone boycott EA? I mean there are better games out there and they really don't deserve anybodys time if they're going to act like cunts once they've got your money.
Try the small claims court (or whatever they have in the US)
With all the things big companys have embeded in their 9001+ page EULA and stuffs they most likely have atleast 4 lines stating how the games you BOUGHT are just 'non-exclusive licenses' that may be revoked at anytime they feel, for any reason Oh and heres some 'Free 2 Play' EA games, that are pretty much 'Pay 2 Win' games http://world.needforspeed.com/ - A crappy MMORPG version of need for speed, with the 'blow $40 to get the l33st car ever d00d' and sync issues that literally make raceing other people impossable from the games launch, and the biggest community of hackers and cheaters I have ever seen, they post pictures of how they hack things onto their cars with glitches/exploits and the mods go 'we are looking into this!' every single time, never banning anyone that pays. http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/en/#panel1 - I dont even have to explain how this game is targeted to 5 year olds if you just go to the landing page, just like nfs:world you drop $40-$50 in 'BATTLEFUNDS' of course, just to make it seem like your not even paying money, do the math and one of the little hero dress up items like $15, dont forget to buy some 'widgets' like magical healing tonic that is more like cheating, get into a gun battle and just pop a tonic, BOOMYOUWINBOI. Dun had your failure Pay 2 Win games named and shamed EA... dont even get me started on all the glitches I found out how to do in the time I actualley played these stupid games, I knew how to use a jeep to push myself into a house in Battlefield Heroes, you could shoot and look out, but not shoot in, along with the people in Nfs:world hacking mercedes 'body kits' onto lambos for ugly spoilers..
Why doesn't everyone boycott EA? People value their games more than making the publishers/devs actually treat them well.
I want one of those Toshiba Thrive tablets, they look amazing. [editline]Wait[/editline] Whoa, wrong thread. On topic, what'd the guy say in that phone call, OP?
So you're implying we should pirate everything? Cause if that's the case you're not very smart. If everyone pirated everything, developers would stop making games for us.
because you're giving money to multimillion dollar corporations who already have profit streaming out of their ears at the general expense of everybody else, you stupid fuck (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Craptasket))
And if everyone pirated their games, they would have NO income coming from anywhere. Learn to think and learn to stop insulting people because you can't admit you're wrong.
The developer of KAG just posted a similar problem with Battlefield 2 http://kagdev.tumblr.com/post/13546944075/a-story-about-my-recent-experience-with-ea Of course, Origin being a piece of shit is nothing new at this point. [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] All the major game companies are trying to push their own DRM now.
I doubt the number of sales from all platforms are that dangerously affected by a small portion being pirated, and if it a multiplayer game I don't see why the developers are bitching since they cant play it online. I can see games for example skyrim or fallout getting pirated since, but i doubt they lost that much in sales. Point is if it get pirated much more likely it selling well and they don't give a fuck about a small percentage loss in sales
