They are remaking Spiderman already, originality is no longer a word that exists in Hollywood. It just disappeared.

Check this out, THE THIRD MOVIE SUCKED. I think it was good for Raimi to jump ship and save himself, and it allows for a new chance for some young upstart to get in and try.
Not saying this is the best idea, but look at it like Ultimate universe; reboot it to save it from itself.
Third movie didn't really suck. Sure the ending was a load of bollocks but it all went down pretty well. Could have made a good no. 4 if they tried. And with less emo high school plot lines that are going to be in the remake.
Honestly they should just leave spiderman alone. enough rape for one generation. Come up with some new heroes marvel. Stop milking the old ones.
No, the third movie did in fact suck ass.
What he did to Venom was unforgivable... not to mention making Peter Parker even more angsty than ever before.
Actually, now that I think about it... all of the Spider-Mans sucked except for maybe 2 because of Doc Ock.
Sam Raimi basically ruined Spider-Man.

Interestingly, Spider Man was the first superhero to have any sort of real life at all.
I'd be fine with remakes if they took really old movies, for instance black and white movies, and just gave them color and kept it mostly the same, but usually they change it too much and it becomes a shit movie.
imo just making a black and white movie in color for a remake would be way too much like the original. a good remake keeps true to the old movie, but still brings stuff to the table.
I thought The Crazies was the best remake I've ever seen.

Psycho wasn't terrible either.

He said he was forced to mess stuff up and that's why he didn't want to do Spider-Man 4.
I can't stand remakes after I saw what they did with The Day the Earth Stood Still. The original was ten times better.
It's Hollywood running its business risk free, doing what worked in the past.
Rarely are good, risk taking films released nowadays.
some are good some are bad. and stop saying Hollywood did this. it was the studios not Hollywood -.-
Sometimes they can be good. The 80's Scarface was a remake of a 30's movie.
I thought The Producers remake was actually alot better than the original. And the remake was a musical....With Will Ferrel, and they still pulled it off!
As a horror fan, I hate them. I recently watched the Friday 13th remake and was bitterly disappoint. It wasn't un-watchable but it was pretty damn bad. I think that remakes are horribly pointless and most of them butcher and rape the source material. As for the thing (< one of my favourite all time movies) and the Dawn of the dead remakes, I see DOTD as a re imagining of the Romero classic because of how drastically different it is. And I don't consider the thing a remake since it's based of a book...and more accurate than the original movie. As for the Nightmare on elm street remake; It seems Jacky Earl Harley is doing a more gritty, dark, realistic Freddy. I am not happy :@

Alfred Molina was the perfect actor for Doc Ock imo.
Oceans Eleven is a remake. it was good.
I hate every person involved in A George A. Romero remake.
Scarface doesn't really count. They are totally different.
I've only seen one Hollywood remake and that's Kind Kong. I never saw the original but I know enough to say that it (the re-imagined version) sucked my balls big-time.
Dawn of the Dead and King Kong were good.
It's fucking Michael Bay he produced both Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street.(The remakes)
My bloody valentine was ok. Standard hack and slash movie.
Plus the chick who was naked was hot.
I bet in the year 2020, they going to end up remaking 90s classic movies like Twister and Jumanji
Dawn of the Dead, King Kong...
I've noticed a lot of remakes have been pooling into the box office recently. A few days ago, I had this thought spring up: what if they remade Singin' in the Rain?! OH MY GOD, if somebody does that, I'm gonna start shooting people.
A remake of Citizen Kane..... :smug:
that is when I lose all hope for humanity.
I wish I could see all my favorite classics on the big screen. Stuff like King Kong, Casablanca, etc.
Then I realized that remakes are sort of doing this. Take Nightmare on Elm Street. No one, not counting small revival theaters, is going to get to see the original on the big screen now. For that movie, most everyone who didn't see way back when it originally came out will only see it at home.
The remake allows people to see Nightmare on the big screen. It's not the original though, that's the downside. It's still a way to get your Nightmare fix on the big screen, that's the one good thing about remakes.
I'd love to see a remake of Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

Spider Man 3 had the worst fucking script. I mean Jesus.
The Sandman is established as a criminal who's doing this out of necessity, and then twenty minutes before the end he turns into the fucking hulk and starts smashing shit for no reason. And then we get this boring hollow ass speech that makes no sense because he just turned into the fucking hulk and starting smashing everything for no fucking reason.
Eddie Brock is just awfully written. The whole point of venom is that you're supposed to kind of empathize with him, but in the movie they just make him into this sleazy car salesman who seems like he was written into the movie ten minutes before filming. So you don't give a shit about him when he's just eddie, and you don't give a shit about him when he turns into venom and he goes crazy, and you definitely don't give a shit about him when he dies. So the whole subplot is entirely pointless because it has absolutely no emotional impact.
And don't even get me fucking started on that "Ah cleaned yer fathers wounds and he killed himself" bullshit. Because not only is Jeeves a forensic pathologist who can identify knife wounds, but he's also a lazy fucknugget who can't even inform his employer until months after it's useful information.
The whole movie felt like someone took a bunch of different scripts and squished them together in an attempt to get as much fan hype as possible. And then added a dance number.

What the fuck could you possibly do to improve on one of the greatest masterpieces of film?

I live near a theater that constantly plays all the classics. Last week I watched The Maltese Falcon. :smug:
