I live in the US and love Canada. The people who think all Americans are arrogant super-patriots annoy me though :sigh:
Bloody Americans say we know nothing about their country. Honestly, there was more coverage of their election in our country than our own election.
Gotta love those wacky Canadians.
Mounties: RCMP aka Royal Canadian Mounted Police. It's a national investigative/police agency that could be akin to the CIA/FBI/SWAT. They do everything from investigations to police work to security detail for the Prime Minister.
The equivalent of the CIA/FBI is CSIS. Our police forces in major cities have SWAT-style units as well. RCMP is just a national police force, nothing else.
Youtube doesn't work for me today :crying:
Did you guys know the mounties had international juridiction?
And universal health care isn't a good thing either.
:frog:
Goddamn I wish the democrats didn't be such submissive bitches to the Republicans and water down our health care bill.
I'm British and I can't think of a single invention that benefited society in any way made by a Canadian. Tanks and shit don't count.
Alright so there's this guy on youtube who interviews beach goers in California and asks them about topics that the community chooses. In this weeks video he asked them about Canada. To be honest I wasn't surprised... Some of the members are NHL Players and Olympic Athletes though. I completely forgot about CSIS though. ;( Also: The RCMP does fill a role close to the FBI, as they even handle international investigations with the aid of INTERPOL, along with providing the security detail for the Prime Minister.
Canada > USA.
Canada=USA. I lived in both and there isn't much of a difference, they're both awesome.
The reason there is less knowledge of Canada in the States than the reverse is because it's necessary. I guarantee almost every country in the world would know more about the States than about Canada because it's the economic center of the world at the moment and because it's got military presence in many locations. Also, it's far more likely for Canadians to go to America for vacation than for Americans to come up here. Where I live, tons of people go to Grand Forks to shop.
I don't understand where people get the thing about Canadians having milk in bags from. I've lived in Canada my whole life and have never seen bagged milk.
You aren't missing much, bagged milk sucks ass and tastes like plastic

Canadians have created, insulin, the telephone, light bulb and the pacemaker... those haven't benefited the society in any way? and that's not even close to all the inventions Canadians have made.
