It would be amazing if this ended up being a continuation of Found On The Tape. Sadly, though, it's obviously not.
It's an AI.
It's an AI.
system doesn't necessarily mean computer system. Could mean her district, and I think her is the woman from earlier videos.
welcome aboard Leviôsa still I'm really curious what this is, and REALLY hope it ties directly into "my milwaukee" so we can finally find out what that one was all about too. Has anybody make a call to the dead-drop's number for the Milwaukee Tourism Committee since this all started up? also what the hell is up with copy-pasted youtube comments having a • randomly placed here and there
I haven't a clue, it just appeared. I would edit it out by retyping the message because it annoys me, but the editor is broken.
Hello all, I just created this account for this topic, so yay. Welcome me to the forums and stuff. Seems like a pretty cool community going on here. Aside from the garbage posts about half life 3/things of that nature. ANYWAY. I would like to bring back to light something I find most interesting and creepy about all of this. That this account has been active for 3 years; doing nothing more than presenting itself as a word pronunciation guide of sorts. It had a fair amount of views/subs, but whoever has been doing this for the last 3 years it would seem was not doing this just for views or even publicity. I say this because truly, aside from the sentences that accompany the pronunciation, this has gone fairly unnoticed or under the radar. So why now? Seemingly randomly after all of this time the sudden change. Alot of people are saying ARG, but what I find most interesting is the fact that any ARG or PR campaign, what have you, would need or take 3 years to accomplish? Especially when there is little to no REAL publicity related to your initial endeavours for such a long period of time? It is actually so convoluted, that is to say, we know so very little about what is going on, that people may just pass it off as uninteresting even. Also, compared to the 3 years of build-up, how much publicity/public attention can one stand to gain in just 77 days? To me, the very abrubt change, the lack of care for publicity for 3-years, is almost sociopathic in nature. I think the truth is, the interest, aside from the possibility of it being an ARG, is that people actually find this to be a bit unsettling. I know i do at least. It is just too random, under the radar, that, why would people care about what is going to happen? Anyways, like i said, a 3-year build up ARG.... covered up as a pronunciation guide?... No PR campaign lasts that long, and seeks to gain so little attention for such a long period of time, only to draw attention to itself through suddenly changing and startingly so. Saying "Something is going to happen" just the phrase may incite fear in some even. But i will say, from what we are seeing, a sort of story being told through the videos, i do believe that is all we have to go on. It's all so weird.. comments? Sorry for the long post guys, hope it was relevant. And that was my first post on these boards, evar! :D
welcome welcome, and just a heads up, this forum was founded around Garry's Mod for Half Life 2, so there's a large amount of half life and other valve related discussion. Far from the entire forum though. There's a few things that could explain the long buildup- Like the recent article mentioned, if it was a PR thing for BSG, they've been in production on and off for a while. Maybe they planned it to hit sooner, but something hitched and they had to delay til they knew they were ready. They likely knew it'd make a better mystery if it went for so long. my only gripe is that they gave it 77 whole days of "something is going to happen". On a scale of excitement, this is way too long to push something. There's giving time to gain momentum, then there's boring people to death with vague story clips for several months
So, Do you guys think the girl that's waiting for him to find "her system" is somewhat related to "Trish" or "Jackie"? or maybe even one of them???
Interesting and yes... it would seem that there is a disconnect between publicity, audience, and what is being done... having taken place for such a long time as well. The fact it's so far deviated from what it used to be, a simple pronunciation guide, is what is so strange as well. All so abrubtly. I also do not buy into the whole BSG article AT ALL. From the outset it says "We thought x, and we were right", and then they provide theory and opinion... seems like a bit of a fanwank to me because the truth is: We have absolutely no idea what any of this means, save for a disjointed story that can't yet understand the relevance of.
one alternative easy answer would be that he could have been writing a book this whole time since he's clearly a bit of a language buff and he's just doing this for his own ends another possibility is that he was genuinely not linked to anything but someone like BSG's producers thought it'd be a cool idea to pull a fast one, and they paid him to start injecting little clips as time went on, eventually landing a countdown when they had a definite date
I also do not buy into the whole BSG article AT ALL. If you're only looking for the bits that confirm your theory, you'll miss all the clues that debunk your theory and probably paint a clear picture of what's actually happening

I've been discussing this whole thing with a friend of mine, and we've come to the belief that if it were an ARG for a game, it really wouldn't make sense. It wouldn't make sense for it to be buildup to the movie Catching Fire, as corporate had no idea if Hunger Games would be a flop or a hit. If it was a Halo ARG (my buddy kept pointing out things like "Chief" and Mendoza. He also pointed to the whole "I love Bees" ARG that was done. A few other pieces of evidence, but I really can't remember as I have very little knowledge with Halo) why would it be buildup to Halo 5, and not have been buildup to 4? 4 Would have needed it more to bolster sales, since a new company took over and people were somewhat skeptical of them. The very fact that this has been going on for 3 years makes it very difficult to pin down exactly what it is going to be.

Once again very interesting... But if an ad campaign.. i don't know.. but i'm sure some people find this a bit offputting, as in creepy.. to say "Something will happen in x days"... instills fear on some level, fear of the unknown, it's almost like a power trip, because whatever the reason is for this the person/people behind it are the one's in control. Conversely, what about the people that genuinely thought and/or used this to assist in their pronunciation of words for the last 3 years? Imagine how offputting it must be for them? It's like... "Oh you thought this was a channel to genuinely help you pronounce words properly for the last 3 years? Fooled ya!" Very random. also... erm... how do I quote people? As in the fancy blue box x_X

However, Bungie's new 'Destiny' isn't the halo universe despite having clear design influence, and is confirmed for 2014. H4/5's team wouldn't have anything to do with this unless (like I mentioned earlier) the guy was innocently doing this project and they approached him to start injecting story and a countdown
this is interesting and all but I can't believe the comments on the videos about how people are crying because this is 2spooky4them like this
omg i attempt not to sound insane, usually, and i'm aware that these videos probably• are a completely non-scary marketing campaign, but they totally make me cry. something about them is just completely terrifying. i guess it's the seemingly nonsense sentences + the mysterious countdown. freaks me the fuck out.
and this
I'm listening to these and I'm crying but I don't know why like i know something is going to happen...
really, people.
system shock 3
Although unlikely, I would very much like this!
Exactly. And why a shitty Pronunciation channel? Why not IGN? Why not any other popular Youtube channel?
Clearly, this ARG's puppetmaster wanted to remain under the radar until now, dropping secret hints in plain sight.
So, Do you guys think the girl that's waiting for him to find "her system" is somewhat related to "Trish" or "Jackie"? or maybe even one of them???
Hi there ... another member who signed up simply to keep tabs on this "possible" ARG. And I'm dragging friends along for the ride apparently. I'm not sure who the "she" is ... Chief's ex-wife, Ann, Trish, Nicole ... but I know it's not Jackie because that character has been referred to in the masculine numerous times.
But what if this isnt' catastrophic nor is a PR or an ARG? What if this guy is actually counting down to him committing suicide because the chief has stole his girlfriend from him or worse! maybe he's killing the chief himself! Hence "I'm not talking about a disaster, i'm talking about a love triangle". I'm afraid we're actually watching a guy spiral into madness. Just like 'Alantutorials'
I had thought I read on one of the forums (perhaps here) that someone had deleted all the information from the Google doc. I also notice that it is not something that can be publicly edited. Does anyone know how to get in touch with the publisher of the document? I have nothing to add but in case I have some stroke of brilliance it might be handy information. (ETA: Nevermind. I found a different version of the document that states you must request access via the IRC node). Also, thoughts on why no one has looked more into the Belarus mention? PB has said it "sounds like my kind of place" but a quick Wiki search reveals that it is practically a dictatorship with rampant human rights violations. And it was greatly affected by the radiation from Chernobyl. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] One of videos makes mention of "2 scientists". There is also separate mention of a Dr. Colorado and a Dr. Lafayette. Could these be the scientists? Interestingly (or not), both are named after U.S. locations ... one is a state, the other a city in Louisiana (and someone has pointed out that references to LA could be Louisiana and not Los Angeles).
There's also a town in Colorado called Lafayette.
When he said "shes waiting for me, I have to find her system" I immediately thought he was talking sort of like a private investigator. Like he makes a mental note going over some files, she is waiting for him to make a move and he knows that. But he also is trying to find out her "system" or how she operates.
And who IS she? She must've been mentioned in one of his old videos...
And who IS she? She must've been mentioned in one of his old videos...
She's been mentioned a lot of times.

If it's an ARG, for what great purpose would you wait so much and undergo so much work? If it's a PR campaign, why would you keep this under the radar and just give yourself 77 days to get attention, plus, you'd have to be some sort of a fucking teller to be able to plan advertising a product three years from now, like, consider all the changes in the market and economy (or potential competitors) that could arise in that lapse of time. This whole thing makes no sense at all, what kind of mega-obsessed person would work on this for three years just for the sake of making a little ARG or an ad campaign, it's just non-sense. Unless... It's more than just ARG..

Regardless, keep up the investigation guys, i find every tidbit of information interesting, and i guess in 77 days we will find out. What i mentioned, and what Barttool states in his reply is what i found most intriguing. If a viral marketing ad for BSG or anything for that matter, why not go through a youtube channel with more precedence? And like i said, what about the people that were using this as a guide to help them pronounce words for the last 3 years? IMAGINE how jarring that is for them. Interesting to see how far this thread can go the next 62 days. Lets rock.
If it's not a marketing promotion, and it's not an ARG, then what the hell is it?
If it's not a marketing promotion, and it's not an ARG, then what the hell is it?
That's the point Tempunary. Despite pointing to ARG or BSG promotion or viral marketing, NO ONE really knows what this is about aside from the puppetmaster. :O
best way to find out is to solve the puzzles, although either there's puzzles we haven't discovered or we have to wait for the countdown to finish. Either way, could we keep speculation to a minimum?
