Apparently this is a legit site now: http://letstalkaboutsystems.tumblr.com/ It mentioned the "400 tacos" about 5 minutes before the video was released.
I like that rasta coloring on the taco text
Did anybody notice his voice randomly going deep at 1:24?
Puberty :v:
Is it in a different language?
Someone suggested Russian. A few of the letters do look a bit Cyrillic.
his voices just creeps me the fuck out by default, he just sounds like a depressed kid
I wouldn't think him as a depressed kid I think of him as a mental institute.
his voices just creeps me the fuck out by default, he just sounds like a depressed kid
I'll agree it's creepy and he sounds depressed, but why are you saying he's a kid? :v: [editline]6th September 2013[/editline] Somebody suggests it's PR for this book http://www.thomaspynchon.com/bleeding-edge.html I have to say the writing style is painfully similar. Like, it's scary. This bit of the excerpt in particular feels very PB right now
Sunlight reflected from apartment windows has begun to show up in blurry patterns on the fronts of the buildings across the street. Two-part buses, new on the routes, creep the crosstown blocks like giant insects. Steel shutters are being rolled up, early trucks are double-parking, guys are out with hoses cleaning off their piece of sidewalk. Unhoused people sleep in doorways, scavengers with huge plastic sacks full of empty beer and soda cans head for the markets to cash them in, work crews wait in front of buildings for the super to show up. Runners are bouncing up and down at the curb waiting for the lights to change. Cops are in coffee shops dealing with bagel deficiencies. Kids, parents, and nannies wheeled and afoot are heading in all different directions for schools in the neighborhood. Half the kids seem to be on new Razor scooters, so to the list of things to keep alert for, add ambush by rolling aluminum.
I'm gonna be so disappointed if its a damn book
I'm gonna be so disappointed if its a damn book
It is kind of disapointing I know what it is Pronounciation Book CD for schools!
It is kind of disapointing I know what it is Pronounciation Book CD for schools!
If it is for Pynchon's new book, I'd be surprised. Or maybe not. For those that don't know of him: he's considered by many to be one of the best writers of the past century, if not today's greatest living novelist. So his books, few and far between, are always sort of "literary events." (Sounds super pretentious, I realize.) Therefore, hoopla of this sort might well be in order. Bbbut, it totally breaks Pynchon's M.O., insofar as he can be said to have one. The dude completely shirks the media/publicity/public life, never having given an interview. Only like two pictures of him have ever been identified, and they're from the 30's... So, if PB is connected to Bleeding Edge, I can't say I'll be disappointed. Sure it's fun believing SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN, but since it's not, better this portends an awesome book release than an ARG with no actual, you know, point. My .02. Edit: Hey, also. Advance copies have been circulating the past few weeks. You'd think some internet culture-savvy critic would have spilled the beans by now. Hard to keep/enforce a gag order on mere information.
Someone suggested Russian. A few of the letters do look a bit Cyrillic.
I'm russian and I can tell that it doesn't really look like it's something written in russian.
I'm russian and I can tell that it doesn't really look like it's something written in russian.
It's probably because it's reversed. Some of the letters look like И's, Ю's, and Я's to me.
Chief's a dick for locking the bus driver in the bathroom.
Maybe he messed up and smudged the text together abit EDIT: I have afew theorys for the letters, does he mention any languages in his videos? with letters non-english?
Maybe he messed up and smudged the text together abit EDIT: I have afew theorys for the letters, does he mention any languages in his videos? with letters non-english?
All the video descriptions describe the videos as being the proper English pronunciation. All words are spelled in the English Alphabet even if they're loanwords.

If the whole spectrograph is just a guy pointing at us with the macro 'Tomorrow' I'd be awfully disappointed since we already know something is going to happen.
Well at least we know what it is now.
hi guys
If the text ends up saying "Something is going to happen tomorrow" I might just kick a puppy.
I mean it makes sense that the picture which will be complete on the day before whatever happens says "Tomorrow" but it's pretty lame and disappointing.
The picture will finish with one day to go. The text reading simply: tomorrow. And we will all be waiting in anticipation.
If it ends up being a kickstarter for something i'm going to shit a live horse and ride it straight to hell.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we get to Sep. 23rd and it says 'tomorrow'.
There's a part of me who wants it to be something serious but at the same time i'm scared...
There's a part of me who wants it to be something serious but at the same time i'm scared...
I was kinda scared when I first heard about it but I guess it'll just be a promotion for something.

Back in the beginning days of the ARG I worked with a small group of people to really dig into the whole thing, found quite some stuff, especially on Bender. Here's some of the info on him if you're particularly interested - http://77days.wikia.com/wiki/The_Thomas_Bender_Connection
17 is out, and it's really goddamn depressing.
"Water flows easily through the aqueducts and storm tunnels. Towers transmit waves that run to join radios in cars and trucks and houses. Paper rolls through the offset press. A conveyer belt feeds rock and sand into a concrete plant. The air conditioner cools its room on summer evenings. Inspection arms confirm the jars dimensions. Rails hold up trains that hold cargo. Roads hold up trucks that hold cars. Streetlights turn off as the sun rises. Satellites connect boats in different oceans. Powerful monitors emit new prices. What are you? What are you? What are you?"
New tumblr post as well: http://letstalkaboutsystems.tumblr.com/post/60540804339 Released just before the video, like last time.
-snip argh late snip- [editline]7th September 2013[/editline] anybody have a proper spectogram that isn't outdated?
This: And reversed, if you're into that sort of thing. [editline]7th September 2013[/editline] ... It's going to say "Tomorrow", isn't it...?
