Thanks for the first video. I needed to know that song
and all the songs.
having a problem with one of the vids, have to re-upload it.
Am I the only one constantly reminded of Perfect Dark with this game's musical style and setting?
Then again, I guess they're both dystopian.

This is awesome, man. Love you.
Only thing I'm cofnused by is the abundance of music from this video:

A little bit of it is there but the really cool second portion isn't. ;_;

Jackie's one of the most amazing characters I've seen in a while
Also if you're curious about his eyes he looks like this

BREAKING NEWS (or something)
A guy on the 77days forum called the number yet again, and now it's apparently outputting a morse code!
....- ----. .-.-.- ----- ----. ..... --... --..-- ---.. .-.-.- ....- ...-- ..... ...-- .-
This translates to numbers!
49.0957, 8.4353 A
The numbers are coordinates (presumably)! To Germany, in fact!

After I got over my disappointment on how PB was to promote BSB, I played First Impact and now it's one of my picks for GOTY 2013.
gonna go on a probably unrelated tangent but I'm throwing it out there in case there's some meaning and it's intentionally a reference
hearing 'first impact' and 'second impact' reminds me that in Evangelion, these were references to the extinction-level events that wiped out the dinosaurs (First Impact) and later wiped out the better part of humanity (Second Impact, September 13th, 2000). The entire series is them trying to stop the third from happening (since 2nd wasn't entirely successful and things keep trying to finish the job by causing 3rd)
given this whole project is at least partially in tune with 'This is My Milwaukee' I'm intrigued, because society in TiMM seems to live in fear of some form of exterior threat called godseed (eva's threat is referred to as 'Angels'), and they're confined to safe living zones and (if I recall correctly) socialistic work ideals all benefitting some ominous organization called blackstar.
haven't played the game thinger yet but anyone who's put some thought into it, let me know how well or ill connected TiMM feels and if any of these tidbits can tie links into even the most seemingly insignificant pieces
Has anyone got a list of stuff that gets "Unlocked" if I pay the $7?
holy shit
i just managed to convince Jackie Dalton to tesitfy against bear stearns
I didn't even know that was possible
this youtube channel was apparently meant to tie in with PB and horse_ebooks, but it never took off with the popularity that the other two did, and was cut out early on.
interesting thing to see here, read into it however you wish

tbh that journalist is being a prick about it. There's a comment there that pretty much summarizes it to me:
QQ poor baby. They wanted to complete the project without a scummy journalist using her connections to destroy what they had been working on for years. Psychopaths? GIVE ME A BREAK. How low can you get? "I wasn't about to burn a little guy" but you have no problem destroying a major project for your own gain? You deserve what you got.
Weren't you the one screaming BSG from the hilltops as soon as you thought you knew what it was? Well now you know why your friends and colleagues don't trust you
"I write comedy and satire"
scapegoat disclaimer for "shut up no you just don't understand my deep humor and journalistic wit"
this is only amplified by the fact the blog is through tumblr
It's a shame though that they didn't manage to make this into something bigger like they intended. I tried mailing Synydyne and asking if they would ever release what they wanted PB's ending to look like, or if they at least had in mind a continuation or explanation of the story they'd make public. I haven't got a reply, which could mean two things:
A) They don't read their emails.
B) They can't say because BSB IS that continuation/explanation.
Frankly B) seems like a bigger possibility given the characters in it. On that note, though, it's visible they really haphazardly threw BSB together in the matter of way-too-little-time. Seems like pretty much everything was shot at a greenscreen.

According to their site BSB has been around longer than PB so I'm not sure.

I don't trust her at all. First of all, the battlestar galactica article cost her major credibility points. Secondly, her story both makes no sense AND portrays her in a strangely good way while painting the PB guys as strangely sad and incompetent.
She seems to be suggesting that they DIDN'T have BSB in mind from the beginning, which is demonstrably false. The picture of Jackie from the spectrograph is exactly the same as the one at the end of the trailer, and the spectrograph starts with the countdown, so they have to have had things appreciably developed for at least that long. Then there's all the story references, like the characters Jackie and Chief, the term "dollar crime" and financial themes, and a ton of other stuff that's been there since before anyone even realized this was an ARG.
Even forgetting all of that, her story makes no sense. Marketing companies don't pre-build ARG's to sell, they work with the owners of a property to make something that matches what they're promoting. PotatoFool'sDay (POrTAl TwO) and I love Bee's, just for example, were filled with references to their respective properties that were revealed as the ARG went on. You can't pre-make something like that.
There's a number of other details that stick out to me as strange. Forgetting for a moment how strangely personal she's making things (cellphone text snapshots do not constitute solid evidence BTW) there's a lot of things that just don't add up. She implies it was a problem when Bender was found because people realized it was "just another ARG" which wouldn't be a problem at all. People knew that the radios in Portal were part of an ARG, but that didn't make solving the puzzles or finding new clues any less fun. In fact, that people know an ARG is going on is the ideal, because no one puts effort into solving puzzles they don't realize are there.
She's also now changed her story. She said she texted Bender in the DailyDot article, but now she's saying that Bakkila was the one acting like a weirdo, and that Bender didn't know about the 40k mess? I don't even know.
Not only is it too convenient for her, she keeps changing major details. It doesn't seem right, and if it's not then she needs to lose her job.

"Wild Milwaukee Hearts"

Please let this be substantial and related to TIMM
"Wild Milwaukee Hearts"

the end credits song to TiMM is "Heart of Your Dreams" to the fake "Blackstar no Blackstar" anime
also there was this

also checking arount TiMM stuff there's a pamphlet containing stuff like active remaining cities proving more of the dystopian last remnants of society thing
for anyone who hasn't seen TiMM, I thought you guys said the video was down but it looks like it's working

another evangelion potential bit, godseed fragment from TiMM, Adam from Eva, and another design element from one of the Eva Angels

[editline]e[/editline]
after realizing the folly of man trying to play/create a new god had doomed all of humanity, blackstar ended up having to destroy milwaukee "to save it", ending up burying the remnants of godseed (pictured below) deep beneath the canning district. "thousands and thousands of tons of concrete"
[t]http://i.imgur.com/GIgSIFh.png[/t]
he also eludes to it actually being like a tree where the leaves may grow back in the spring
in the end of evangelion, adam is kept in secrecy beneath the city, as is lilith, who/what is the catalyst for third impact. It's kept in the deepest part of the base, beneath layer upon layer of security, and some other spoilery stuff
[t]http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa305/secondgryphon/Sketches/EVA/Screencaps/15-HowIMineForRei.jpg[/t]
to further their goals, SEELE, the ominous illuminati-esque organization, ends up destroying the city above all this jazz in order to progress their agenda to cause third impact, all in all causing the protagonist to become the tree of life, god in physical form
FUN STUFF
For the record.....Febrezzio's mentioned on TIMM (01:49) and gets mentioned in the closing credits to First Impact. Oh, and Champion Dynasty is mentioned within the ending theme to TIMM, while Champion and Dynasty appear as the two guys on the phones (and as the Basketball Player and the street musician for the other video).
And did anyone else see the thing crawling on the floor at 2:38 in the TIMM video? o.o
A lot of the visuals from their trailer thing on youtube seemed to pay homage to NGE. Specifically this and this

Has anyone pointed out yet that Bear Stearns was a real financial firm that went out of business following the Stock Market collapse?
Might have some implications about the future of the story and/or its inspiration.

for placement on a timeline, the videos began on July 4, 2007. Checking that wiki on bear stearns, the "Start of the crisis - two subprime mortgage funds fail" portion notes the 2007 dates June 22, 29, July 16, August 1, and a few later ones, meaning we're right in the middle of this. We're on the right track with it. even the NGE graphic reference mentions mortgage threshhold excess
You know the first guy you see in TiMM? That's the guy from Bear Stearns Bravo, Dynasty.

bsb is goty
You guys should check the credits at the end of First Impact and listen to what Jackie says when you call him a sommelier (Thomas Bender's voice is in there, and you can see the "fennel" seeds that are planted all over Milwaukee).
But seriously, look at the credits. :zoid:
