you're just being ignorant tbh
"ooh these fashion people look so silly and i am above them because i am a nerd scientist guy who only dresses for functionality"
fuck that shit
Its a of pair military fatigues with boots and a headscarf, I'd hardly call that fitting into a layering inspo for streetwear, I understand things like Rothco boots and camo pants but this is just military wear.
more than one shirt? i don't want to start sweating, honestly
exactly, so why should i buy more of the same?
i can't see the difference between my image and the ones above, they're maybe slightly different color
for fucks sake dude
why are you even asking for advice at this point if you're just going to be a whiny nerd about everything
sometimes you have to sacrifice a little bit of comfort for looks
and there's a huge difference in how things fit, also the fabrics, the shoes
not wearing a shirt covered in bananas or whatever doesn't mean you have to dress boring, there's way more variation in clothing than loud prints. there's plenty of good stuff at H&M, pay some attention
H&M quality might be slightly questionable at times but it's cheap and since you're getting started that doesn't really matter. They literally follow every trend and put out cheap pieces every season that match those trends. "All the same" would be more like uniqlo which focuses on consistent good basic pieces, H&M is the opposite of that

Was that your picture or something lmao :chillout:

There's nothing wrong with many of those layering pictures but that dudes shirt looks like something your dad mows the lawn in on Sunday.

I quite like the general style, tbh. Just if it was cleaned up a bit, I think it'd look nice.
It's literally just possible inspiration
[editline]8th April 2016[/editline]
you look at that imgur when you're looking for possible inspiration, and sometimes there are things in it that you wouldn't wear, but you can create and idea off
a bunch of other arts do the same thing
Ok, I guess I see what you mean by that. I suppose I was being too two-dimensional with my thinking

Yeah, the colors are inspiration to me. Those are my favorite colors: a deep olive, a dark burgundy brown, and ecru. Inspiration isn't always "fits that internet people posted"
Even though I already have a pair of black military boots, I am now looking for boots like that.
This is what I wore tonight

Toothbrush is the Phillips Sonicare DiamondClean for those interested
well shit happens :downs:
i can probably take the tradeback of not wearing full white shirts
im late but seeing as ur swedish maybe look at caliroots/hm/zara/junkyard/carlings all have lots of clothes, so hopefully u can find something that doesnt look 2 bad there.
And the shipping is usually free when u buy for more than 500 sek.
also skinny jeans>all
Eating a burger while thinking about buying a $160 allsaints sweater (after 30% off sale). Since I've been liking being skinny-fit recently, it's weird to look at buying a looser sweater (imma post an image after edit, it's an "XS" loll), but the color and material and looseness gives the street-y modern aesthetic that I see a lot and admire but don't feel totally right doing. All my sweaters are super tight.

I still only do 32 hr of minimum wage per week but I'm so sick of only owning like Zara and uniqlo and...that's pretty much it nowadays. Idk how to break out of the fast fashion stuff since the next tier is like four times as expensive.
Unrelated: anyone have any experience with G-Star?
[editline]8th April 2016[/editline]
decided to pass and put the $160 towards furthering my spycore wardrobe and look for a slim and not-shit commando sweater.
I got a pair of American Apparel jeans and they fit okay, not great... so I ordered another pair of the same jeans, same size and tried them on. Fit perfectly. :v: So I'm gonna return that first pair and be on my merry way.
My multiyear-long quest for good fitting, unfaded, light stonewash denim is now over. I also finally got a denim shirt from them that I like a lot. Feels good getting stuff you've wanted for a long time.
[editline]8th April 2016[/editline]
also I used the student discount on both and got the shirt for another 15% off because it's missing a button (but comes with an extra button)
The way you carry yourself is more important than what you wear.
Challenge yourself, do something different, go overseas to a country that doesn't speak English; try to survive, climb a mountain, meet people, pick a sport and dedicate yourself to it; become a pro level amateur, learn a language, skydive, fall in love, volunteer, meet that random person on craigslist. A life not risked is a life not lived.
Although, if you don't have a good reason to, you better not wear baggy clothes, holy fuck.
Girrafen the outfit you posted makes me want to bleed out of my eyes from how boring and sloppy it looks
No need to be a dick about it.
[editline]9th April 2016[/editline]
Talk shit post fit
^ seriously. If you're gonna rag on people that hard own up and put yourself out there for critique

Or just don't be a dick

i've looked at h&m many many many many times but they only have plain clothes
but as said, i usually only wear a tshirt anyway because it gets so hot everywhere
Girrafen the outfit you posted makes me want to bleed out of my eyes from how boring and sloppy it looks
as in, those are the clothes i can find at h&m etc
i think the hoodie is from kappahl, been using it since 2011

I know you've passed but I own an Allsaints long sleeve that's a size or two above and it fits really well, it's pretty long but it's still skinny around the sleeves.
Basically if you were to go for a long sleeve/jumper from them I'd recommend going for that kind of loose look, I'm XS/S myself and it's almost impossible to find Allsaints clothes that fit properly, they're always a little too big for small sizes

There's more than just how things look, it's important to get the right fit pal, honestly the best thing you can do for that is go out and try on tops and shirts in the store's changing rooms, that's what they're there for.

the right fit? i'm pretty sure i have xl, it's really uncomfortable to have smaller ones, and i've heard having bigger ones isn't to prefer
-snip-

If that's how you view H&M then I honestly think you have no idea how to dress yourself

well no shit sherlock, you figured that out now? :v:

this is my entire wardrobe, grouped into piles with unique designs (i never wear the striped shirt due to it having long arms and it gets too hot)
You keep complaining about how h&m is plain but tbh your entire wardrobe is far more plain than any h&m I've been to.
[editline]9th April 2016[/editline]
Also, you live in Sweden, not the Bahamas. I don't see how anything but a tee is too hot for you.
He literally refuses to believe that colors and materials and silhouettes mesh together or that anyone in this thread could possible know more than him about fashion.
I think if he's wearing XL that he's in the wrong self-improvement thread.

are you people not reading what i'm writing? i can't see the difference of my clothes on the picture and ones bought in h&m e.g.
in the wintertime i have to wear a jacket, so i can't wear anything under it really, and in the summertime it gets so hot i can only wear a shirt and nothing else

even when i was under 105kg i still had to use xl, i'm pretty tall, and xl isn't only about waist size
you just enjoy the bickering. love hearing yourself talk. literally the whole reason you're here.
I'm gonna just ignore this little feud and ask how come leather jackets have never really gone out of style
They've been around for 50+ years and they always work as casual outdoor jackets, some designs even just being flat out awesome-looking
isn't that cool
you just enjoy the bickering. love hearing yourself talk. literally the whole reason you're here.
can't really understand that question honestly, i loathe myself
why would you write stuff because you like yourself talking? do people do that?
but like..
oh there's a shirt that's longer.. what's the difference?
oh there's a shirt with stripes.. what's the difference?
oh there's a shirt that's dark blue.. what's the difference?

whenever someone throws criticism your way, you go "no not really" or deflect with an unrelated tangent about yourself
i enjoy helping and all but this is getting ridiculous

I don't know what else to say, if it doesn't work then it doesn't work
when people talk about fit they're not only talking about size, but literally how it fits. don't know the difference, go try out some clothes and see which ones look more flattering on you. try ones with slightly longer or shorter sleeves, check out different stores, read about matching and color theory, etc
