first one is best, second one is creeping into scene-kid/post punk territory but it's still fine.
both are objectively better than v-necks
deep v-necks are 90's porn star, regular ones look fine imo
The 90's porn star look is great, what are you talking about?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/1oc1Udk.jpg[/t]
Since when has "90s" porn star been a thing?? What does that even mean?
70s porn stars sure but 90s? and what about v necks makes them 90s porn star?
does this mean you think everybody thinks v-necks have aesthetic value?
i mean i think they're so simple and elementary that their merits can't fall out of style. the part where i mention confusion is the part where i clarify that i don't understand why it's not universally seen like that.
i said that based on a few simple observations
- they're bought reluctantly if at all by resellers
- i have been told as much by at least two people who work in high end retail
- the kids arent wearing them
[editline]27th April 2016[/editline]
they're not in right now. save the v neck sweaters for grad school or when they come back in five years or whatever.

they're simple but crew necks and o necks are even simpler
I'd say they've been out of style for a few years now, most designers don't make them anymore
[editline]28th April 2016[/editline]
when I think of v-necks now I think of bright colours, way too slim fitting clothes, and gelled hair
also this shit

so what you're actually referring to is 'forever in style' and not 'objective aesthetic appeal' (which suggests a v-neck is inherently & inescapably attractive to everybody, which is false)
& thanks for the box. it's no wonder at all why I misunderstood you (maybe because your words did not match your ideas??)
when I think of v-necks now I think of bright colours, way too slim fitting clothes, and gelled hair
ya v necks bring to mind the club scene, but i don't think they're all that wildly distinctive to the point of being unwearable or anything. compared to like, aztec prints which are going to look pretty dated in a few years time
I'll admit, as much as I like v-necks, they're not really in. If anything, they're perfectly fine to wear in the summer.

And if you are getting those for work, crew necks are the safe way to go.
i kinda like v necks, granted they're not deep. if they're like just slightly lower than crew it's perfectly fine imo. but i'll always choose a crew over the v, looks better in pretty much every situation
however i also own a solid black v neck that i think looks really nice and for some reason stands out more and looks better to me than a crew if i'm going all black
i think v necks look fine as long as you got the collarbone to match
I think when a V Neck looks good on someone, it's in the way they might be a respectable old gentleman or a well dressed maths teacher.
It's taken me about 30 attempts to phrase that.
get v-necks to wear under a shirt but not on their own

what do you want lmao
V necks are only okay if they are deep enough so you can see the top portion of your abs.

I think vnecks have lost popularity since restricted collars have been admired aesthetically. Used to be that buttoning the top button on a shirt made you look ridiculous but now that, and stuff like tight crew neck sweaters have been in for a bit.
Of course swoop neck tees are more in now too so I'm guessing v necks just look very 2010.
[editline]28th April 2016[/editline]
Also reminder: just because something is out of fashion doesn't mean it can't look good. V necks flatter your chest and delts well. Plus they are so basic that other pieces of your outfit should be receiving more attention anyways.
Finally [del]dropped the bal on thesel[/del] bought these

Are we sure he didn't drop the ball on that stuff?
I'm trying to find a good spring jacket and am trying to decide between these two. They're the MA-1 Slim by Alpha Industries and the Moto Jacket by American Giant.

Both in either blue or black. The Alpha one I can get at work with a decent discount but already have a regular (though a bit too puffy for my taste and maybe a size too big) MA-1 by them as well as like 4 other bomber/varsity jackets. The american Giant one is unique but I've heard their sizing is kind of all over the place and don't want to have to get a 2xl in order to have something long enough to fit me (I'm 6'4"). Thoughts?
The MA-1 bomber is a pretty popular look at the moment. You could probably go a size down and be fine with it. JCrew was selling a nice one a while back (a bit overpriced imo) but it's sold out now. I'm so glad I was able to pick it up a few weeks ago

Not a great pic but I love it
[editline]1st May 2016[/editline]
And if you do get an Alpha jacket, please, for the love of god, take off the red tag. You're not a pilot, flight is a metaphor for life, it looks tacky, get rid of it
I know right? First thing I did when I got the Alpha one I have. Like I said I've got the regular one by them in 2x and that is too big for me even length wise, which is surprising. Definitely too baggy and puffy to wear except in the winter but even then it just looks and feels a bit weird. Warm as hell though.
To briefly return to v-neck discussion: I had been under the impression that V-necks are better for fat people (like me) while O-necks are for skinnier ones. Not deep V-necks obviously, just normal sized. Have I heard incorrectly?

I'd say V-necks are better for fat people. The collar doesn't ride as high, especially with cheap brands. Also makes for easy sunglass storage.
Source: I'm a fatty myself.
