It's free shipping for in store pickup and its more convenient than ordering to my dorm because I can't get my mail on Saturdays and Sundays. (The store is within 5 mins of my house 3.) Janoskis are 80$ for one pair and they are rated worse on durability than Lakai's 4.) Lakai is actually owned by skateboarders and isn't Nike. Not that I give a shit, but if you are going to say don't shop at Zumiez I'm guessing it's because it's not really a real skate shop. 5.) I don't know why you try so hard to be edgy, I think you have good style, but it's like you don't feel validated enough from that so you try to shitpost as hard as you can to get attention. 6.) Oh and a hot topic 7.) There are so many things wrong, WITH YOUR POST.
It's not about durability or the place where you got them being a "real" skate shop, it's that the Lakai shoes look like generic shitty walmart shoes. Very much middle school-tier, as he said $80 is not a lot for a pair of shoes
i sk8 in my timbs fuk the police

You're literally rubbing them against sandpaper repeatedly and regularly, they're going to get worn down even if they're made out of solid steel lol. Just buy good looking shoes for when you're not skating and get some comfy Vans for when you are. Buy a pair of high-tops or low-cut canvas classics and let them get shredded and swap them out every 6 months if you need to.
i dont skate but isnt the idea that a poorly built shoe will last even less time than a well built one? shoes have a short life span if you skate but obviously a quality one will last substantially longer than a shit one [editline]22nd March 2016[/editline] its not an inconsequential difference is what im saying
It's not about durability or the place where you got them being a "real" skate shop, it's that the Lakai shoes look like generic shitty walmart shoes. Very much middle school-tier, as he said $80 is not a lot for a pair of shoes
They sell both of the shoes that he mentioned at ZUMIEZ? That he very specifically mentioned SEVERAL TIMES was a problem. Also because yes surprisingly skate shoes get a lot of wear and tear on them it doesn't make a lot of sense to drop TWICE as much money on one pair of shoes that is going to not last as long as one pair that costs half as much? If you guys think they are middle school tier shoes than I can respect your opinion. What I don't respect is "wow there is so much wrong with this post I'm literally crying" Because I bought shoes s at ZUMIEZ? Because I bought shoes that you think are basic? lmao
i dont see any problem with them at all if you're gonna be using them for skating tbh. similar to work boots for example. i got the ones that were most comfortable, waterproof etc., not the ones that look the best because they're gonna get fucked up no matter what, who cares if i look fashionable when my clothes are dirty and i'm down in a ditch. why would i ruin my timbs, that are perfectly capable of doubling as work boots, when i can get the cheaper, more practical boots? function over form if they're for a specialized purpose i say
I wear the workboots that look the best :~)
I wear the workboots that look the best :~)
what do u wear tho i got those sick ass walmart work boots lol. they're lasting and really comfortable and for only like 50 bucks so i'm down
well you posted them in a fashion thread
Because I thought they were "fairly fashionable" which you guys obviously disagree with, which is fine. I was just defending why I had the budget I had when you brought up that $80 isn't a lot for a pair of shoes.
he's right tho, it is a fashion thread, not a skating thread. i think there's nothing wrong with your shoe choice, perfectly adequate for skating. but if you post them in a fashion thread, people will direct you to better looking shoes with a similar function. it's a fashion thread.

A pair of Janoskis which are on the upper end of durability will last ~2 months depending on how much I skate. A pair of Lakai's supposedly will last about ~3. Anything canvas is going to be bad for skating, I learned this when I put holes in my canvas vans the first day I got my skateboard, which prompted me to get something suede. I just needed some content to get to the 7th bullet point. I retract #3 from my still solid post explaining why SHoGuNN3R's post was bad in my opinion.

[editline]22nd March 2016[/editline] imma post my work fit sometime soon because I actually enjoy the silhouette and the fact that the uniform is changing to [VIBRANT PUKE GREEN POLO] makes me sad... ...that I'll be sweating more because I'm gonna wear a turtleneck over it every single day.

So I can't exactly support my local stake shop when it doesn't exist in the material relm. I also know what shoe goo is. I used it last friday on my shoes.
can we stop talking about zumiez already
not a skating thread but zumiez is pretty notorious for killing local business ozzboiiiiii so supporting your local shops in the states is a thing
I don't want to derail this thread further, so this will he the last I say about this. The idea that you would say that you should support local skate shops and then recommend shoes from the two biggest corporate players in the skating shoe market while condeming zumiez for pushing the smaller players out of the market is so hypocritical it's fucking laughable.
It's wayyyyyyy beyond that friend, skates shops actually care about local skate culture, are run by the same dudes you'd see at your local park, etc. it's the difference between shopping at your corner market and Safeway lmao Sure, Safeway has 2 for 1 jacks daniels microwavable pulled pork, but that corner market has your neighbor running it Also your zumiez probably put your local shop outta business lolol SO SUSPENDERS HUH
hey y'all wanna talk about suspenders they sure are dapper huh mlady
i exclusively wear my suspenders with shirts that have little anchor patterns on them, or little mustaches if i'm feeling quirky
Zumiez is WOAT, honestly. I still remember when everyone got that awful Diamond Supply shit from there in my first half of high school, 50 dollar shit quality t-shirt boysss
