I'm mainly surprised he didn't just use a shill of his own to claim this and prevent from having to follow up on a promise, which he likely didn't fulfill either way. I'd be interested to follow up and see how long that promise really lasted. It was just a trick to look generous of course, he did it every time he made a post. It's funny that he even played the "nice used car salesman" role in some of them where "honest ol' Leo asked the big boss if he could give some servers away for free since he's so noble and charitable". I think it's the only way these posts didn't get consistently voted into oblivion. Advertisements are rarely well-received in forums.

The free server giveaway definitely came back to bite him. Considering we know his real name and address and such, I don't see why he's not reported for a bunch of bad business practices that are widely considered illegal, especially impersonating consumers for reviews and false advertising, lying about services that he's making money on. Probably wouldn't result in any jail or prison time or even a fine, but might scare him into actually obeying the law, or at the very least, get his business closed down.

I fucking love seeing FP history get made.

Fear of the law has never truly stopped him before. When one site goes down, another follows soon after. Legal action may never happen; the best solution however is to spread awareness and teach users how to identify scams and protect themselves. This applies in general; be cautious when dealing with non-reputable services and do your research with any product. This thread hopefully provides a bigger take-home message than just despising a particular individual.

But the way ray is phrasing his posts - 'we, our' etc isn't the way an advertisement would go down. Ray claiming raiding gamers is his site is the real kicker for me.
