ive seen billy madison recently and, ehh it went from good to meh for me. I liked it as a kid but its just not as good as i remembered it.
i remember watching click on the cinema and getting really emotional at some scenes.
i remember thinking how dumb and forced they were
I think the reason a lot of people thought Click was depressing as fuck at the end because no one went into the movie expecting that.
I think the reason a lot of people thought Click was depressing as fuck at the end because no one went into the movie expecting that.
I know it caught me by surprise. I watch Adam Sandler films to see Adam doing mediocre-at-best stupid shit with immature jokes (such as small dogs that hump anything and everything in sight). I don't go in for anything emotionally deeper than an especially thin puddle, dammit! With that being said, just watched Chronicle. Read my post in the film's thread for my thoughts on it. Film gets a solid 8.5/10 from me. Would definitely recommend it.
sin city 10/10 i have the comics and most of it is like they used the comic for a story board. a few changes here and there that are quite understandable. i remember when i went to see this movie. it was sick but i looked like an idiot cause i was in that goth phase at the time... fucking boots. all the acting is quite good, in my mind it's a pretty near perfect adaptation. i've seen it many many times and each time is as good as the last. i can't wait for the second one... if it's coming out still. [editline]10th February 2012[/editline] aw fuck they aren't going to do the last one. i thought they were gonna do the last book and it was gonna have johnny depp as the main character.
Twilight. 0/10 lol
No, if anything his good movies would be Billy Madison and Happy Gilmour, mr deeds and click were well into his 'horrible awfulness' stage.
I remember the first time I saw Happy Gilmour, it was on tv, god damn it I almost pissed myself laughing. Wait was it gilmour or gilmore now :|
this adam sandler discussion has been draggin on for more than a page, and I was the only one to mention Punch-Drunk Love?
Super 7.5./10 Rainn Wilson was great in it, I was worried that perhaps he could only play one character after seeing him in The Office but was pleasantly surprised. Ellen Page also gave a good performance. Kevin Bacon makes a good villain. The gore didn't really faze me although when [sp]Libby's face gets blown off[/sp] I was upset.
Memento 9/10 Brilliant film, I love how it all comes together in the end.
Hesher - 6.5 Kinda meh.
Punch-Drunk Love: 8.5/10. (Again) Paul Thomas Anderson is the only guy that decided to make a real film with Adam Sandler and he's actually really acting in this one.
The Mummy 8/10 God, Evy's brother was a fucking brilliant bitch when he tried to get into the "mind-washes" crowd.
Just saw Safe House, and man was this uh.... semi interesting semi bad. The $40 dollars spent for tickets, popcorn, and soda was extreme, but the film really didn't justify the blow to my wallet. It's very redundant and has a very bland script with no explanation of the plot. It's just jump cutting. The action was decent, but felt rushed and easy to tell who would win. The ending was very guessable and just felt obvious. I suggest renting it at redbox when it comes out on redbox. 1 dollar is better than 40.
How To Train Your Dragon: Still 10/10. I love it so much.
Bourne Trilogy - 8.5/10
Woman in black - 6.5/10. All the scares were just the jumpy kind (to which the girls in the cinema kept screaming loudly over) and Daniel Radcliffes acting was eh I feel, be seemed alright cause he had so few lines but he felt out of place for the time period. But it was pretty watchable and enjoyable mainly cause the story is quite good.
take shelter ehhh/10 had to turn it off half way through, it was just so fucking boring after all the rave reviews it got i thought it would be alot better
Senna finally watched it, solid 10/10 really liked how they managed to convey how senna actually was like
How To Train Your Dragon: Still 10/10. I love it so much.
That movie is gold.
50/50 - 8/10... Hilarious and touching.
will watch the US version of Dragon Tattoo. I don't care if it's a bad idea to see this before seeing the Sweden version.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) Great film, but it lacks a lot of that Tarantino-magic I love so much. Volume 2 is a lot more dialog-heavy if I remember correctly (been years since I've seen these films) so I'm looking forward to watching that. 8.5/10 Chronicle (2012) I had really low expectations to this film, seeing as it includes a) teenagers and b) that stupid found footage shit. But I found it to be surprisingly good. It was well-written, albeit predictable. And the found footage style, while still gimmicky, had its moments- like how you got to see footage from several cameras. 8/10
Puss in Boots 7/10
Puss in Boots 7/10
I'd say the 3rd best in the franchise.
Not sure if this is really the place, but can anyone recommend some good comedies?
Not sure if this is really the place, but can anyone recommend some good comedies?
what type
what type
The comedic kind.
The comedic kind.
Slapstick? Black? Satirical? Surreal? gimme a fucking answer
