Mr Tarantino is the man.. seriously he managed to get errio morricone to score some of Inglourious Basterds, the man has taste.
Although you need a somewhat aquired taste for his movies. I love his style though.
Inglorious Basterds is also one of my favorite movies, along with Reservoir Dogs.
who gives a shit about "acquired tastes", if you don't get Tarantino movies, you're a dull dud. Sorry for being obtuse but it's necessary asshole logic. :v:
I agree, especially the dark and black humor. It is so awesome, if you do not have that you are pretty disgusted/bored by the movies. Those can stick to Hangover or something :v:
There is nothing to "get" with his movies. They are very straightforward.

I don't mean "understand" by the way.
Most of the people I know are put off by the long dialogues, but they are actually the best parts. When watching Inglorious Basterds for example, my friends were waiting for shooting scenes and not paying attention to the dialogue. Of course in the end they were disappointed. Fucking stupid of them but who gives a shit, I love that movie.
Also the play with the different languages is simply amazing.
I come from Luxembourg, we speak German, English and French. It is perfect for the movie.

morricone was unable to score IB, so he let tarantino use pretty much any song he ever wrote. however, morricone is scoring all of django unchained.

"Your opinion must conform with mine or you're boring"
Blade Runner 6/10. Friend absolutely loved it but I found it dragging on and made the viewer read between the lines a lot more then I would have liked.
Just watched Tucker and Dale vs Evil. It's on Netflix.
8/10. I really liked it, but then again I'm a sucker for comedy/horrors. Felt like a mix of Shaun of the Dead and Deliverance.
Scarface (1983) 8.5/10
Been a long time since I've seen this movie, but damn is it awesome, I felt it dragged at times, but damn Pacino acted the shit out of this movie.
Up next the original Scarface since it came with the SteelBook Blu-ray I bought.
Man, that movie put me in a great mood. I love Alan Tudyk.
I might watch another one. Is Reservoir Dogs on Netflix? If not, what would you suggest I watch that IS on Netflix?
I watched the Iron Giant yesterday. Fuck I love that movie.

I found it a really poetic movie
aka some people may like it and some people may find it overly artistic
Inglourious Basterds just might be my favorite Tarantino movie. It has such a great script.
This entire time I thought you were spelling it wrong. I thought, not Film Slacker, he wouldn't misspell something. Turns out it's intentional to distinguish it from the other film, "Inglorious Bastards".
Nope. Tarantino misspelled it intentionally for reasons he refuses to explain.
I read that it was to distinguish it from the other movie. I believe everything Yahoo! answers tells me.

You are right and that is what has been bouncing around in my head. I am normally the only person of my group of friends who likes the more artistic movies.
"Your opinion must conform with mine or you're boring"
I know, and i am sorry.
However for this one case, deal with it. :)

"overly artistic" is not a valid opinion for a flaw. He got bored and didn't bother being absorbed into.

I thought it was because Brad Pitt's character would mispronounce it that way.
The Intouchables 10/10
Although it is a foreign film in French, it delivers on all aspects. The acting was great and was backed up by a great musical score.

uh yes it is
the more "artistic" a movie is, the more of a "love it or hate it" kind of movie it is, IMO

what the fuck
i didn't even know there was an older scarface.
also i'm about to watch Se7en. Literally don't know what to expect, I barely read the premise.
Yep, a gangster movie from 1932, based on a book about Al Copen, and it's actually pretty good, I give it a solid 7, the remake is better due to Tony having more character development, and being a more likable character.
As well as that kick ass 80's soundtrack.
In Bruges
9/10

Didn't expect anything out of it and didn't get anything. All the movie was kinda lame, with no surprises. The ending could have saved it but it was predictable and boring.
Kudos to Brad Pitt's character for being funny, but that's all.

Some people just don't like that kind of stuff. It isn't a case of not bothering to be absorbed into a movie, sometimes it just feels like a film is trying too hard and it can really turn a person off it. I haven't seen Blade Runner so I can't really say in this instance though.
Damn, rewatched Groundhog Day.
Solid 9/10. Bill Murray is an awesome guy.
Watched Goodfellas again, what's there to say? It's Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro being asshole mobsters, it doesn't get any better.
uh yes it is

Doesn't make sense.
So the less "artsy" it is, the more likely you will love it?
