Dead Man's Shoes 9.5/10
What in the name of Bob Saget would you do with a disk if it was a 10/10?
I don't think about it.
Alien. 7.5/10 Never seen it before and interested in watching Prometheus so pretty much have to watch it now. Now, I don't really watch or like horror movies (read, I'm a wuss) but this wasn't so bad. The alien looked a bit goofy at times, and the way it runs off after the chestbursting scene is kind of funny, but suspense was built up incredibly well. Some of the characters actions annoyed me, the guy who went looking for the cat and the woman that wasn't Ripley. Ian Holme was really good, I love a good [sp]android[/sp]. Should I watch Aliens as well before seeing Prometheus?
I watched Prometheus before seeing any of the Alien films. You'll be fine.
Have you watched them since?
You really only need to see Alien before Prometheus. Prometheus might make a bit more sense if you stop trying to think how it connects to the other alien movies anyways (in terms of all the changes they make to what the xenos are), idk, just stick with Alien regardless.
why is mientras druermes translated to sleep tight it actually means while you sleep.
yeah i know but thats the english film title, dont look at me i didnt choose it. [editline]13th June 2012[/editline]
Seen Alone in the Dark yet? Might make you rethink that statement. That 'film' (and I mean that VERY loosely) is, hands down, without a doubt the worst piece of shit I've ever seen. In fact, it's the only movie so far that I've considered to be a genuine waste of time. I think I'll pick up the Piranha 3DD blu-ray when it's down to a tenner or something. Yeah, it's terribly bad but it's also really REALLY dumb fun. And let's be honest, there's nothing wrong with dumb fun.
it can't be any worse than sucker punch!! i mean alone in the dark has an excuse, its a low budget uwe boll film (right?) and sucker punch is high profile hollywood flick. no excuses. [editline]13th June 2012[/editline]
Not yet. I almost bought "Alien" on my way out of Wal-Mart for $5, but I only had $3.50 after seeing the movie, plus the price of snacks.
Anyone that hasn't seen Alien or Aliens; how dare you disgrace me by claiming to be a part of the same species.

Yeah, it's a terrible terrible movie, no doubt about that, but I can't help but at least like it a little bit. AitD is just bad. Flat out bad. Bad as in 'no fucking way can you genuinely like this' bad. Bad as in 'beyond guilty pleasure' bad.
that's how i feel about sucker punch
To each his own, I guess. Speaking of which, I really should watch Alien sometime. I've only ever seen snippets of it at a time.
Eurotrip - 8/10 because it was pretty funny
Third Star: 10/10 I knew it was going to be heartbreaking, but holy fuck man, I wasn't expecting to be like that. I finished it twenty-five minutes ago and I'm still grossly sobbing. The whole move was so beautiful. The cast. The cinematography. The scenery. The plot. The humour. THE FUCKING VOICEOVERS.
Submarine 9/10 Made me feel like I was 15 again. Feels good.
1968 "Planet of the Apes" - 9/10 Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 8.5/10 I saw the original before "Rise" and seeing all the references to the original made it so much better.
Hannibal - 9/10 I wanted to throw up at the end.
"The dictator" - 8/10 This one is more of an actual film than a "mockumentary". Less like Borat or Bruno more like Ali G.
Elite Squad (2007) For anyone who liked City of God. It wasn't as good but the gritty reality of the way Brazillian favella life works in regard to the drug trade and Police was depicted very well. Who knows what the reality is like but if its anything like this then I'm quite happy living in my middle class bubble. The story starts by following a special forces Swat team Captain and 2 raw recruits. The film is excellent and the execution realistic to the point of it feeling like a docu at times. I recommend this film.
I just saw Gran Torino. Man, what a great movie. 9/10 I guess. [sp]God damn the driveby onward was a rollercoaster. Made my face wet.[/sp]
Act of Valor 7.5/10 Was a pretty decent movie but there were way too many over dramatic parts, bad acting at some parts, pointless scenes, and a story that seemed rather dull. Other than that it was a good action movie.
Clash of the Titans (the 2010 one) Terrible movie. The story is clumsily put together, the dialogue is awkward and stupid. It's filled with pointless and boring characters and mediocre acting. Also, Sam Worthington is the most dull actor ever. I didn't even enjoy it as a mindless action/adventure movie. It's boring and awkward. I'd give it a 1.75/10 Also went and saw The Avengers few days ago. It's a solid 9/10
The last 20 minutes of Battleship: 0/10
The last 20 minutes of Battleship: 0/10
you can't just rate a portion of a film or rate a film on only a portion of it
Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire 7/10
you can't just rate a portion of a film or rate a film on only a portion of it
Don't see why not. The rest of the movie's bad too, i just work in a theater and have seen it in portions while i was on break. Watched the last portion tonight.
The Pianist 10/10 Simply... brilliant. I cried more than a few times.
Any movies that are easy to masturbate to besides Der Untergang, the room, and shame?
Any movies that are easy to masturbate to besides Der Untergang, the room, and shame?
Scooby Doo 2
Babe pig in the city.
High Fidelity - 8/10 I quite liked Jack and Cusack's performances in it. Pretty good film overall.

The Darjeeling Limited (2007) not too good although I did very much like all the shots of Adrien Brody running after trains, and whenever they played The Kinks. the parts that had Adrien Brody running after a train AND the Kinks playing were the best. 6/10
