The Town
I liked it, but saw the ending coming from a mile away. [sp]The part with the nun masks made me laugh a bit[/sp]
7/10
Slightly off-topic, but since I didn't find a better thread to ask this.. Should I go watch MiB 3 or the Avengers? I'm not a superhero/comic book fan but judging from the reviews MiB 3 is bad. So which one should I watch?

The Avengers is very good even for those that have little knowledge of that universe.

Definitely Avengers.
I've never read a Marvel comic book in my life nad that movie was still really awesome.
the avengers is an amazing action movie. it's not art, but it's damn entertaining.
Thanks. Bought tickets to the avengers.

Avengers was good, like an 8/10 for me. MiB 3 was weird because although they said Agent K was the same he wasn't. He had a totally different personality than he did in the first two and it didn't make the dialogue as interesting, and Agent J was the reasonable one, which did seem right considering the circumstances.
[sp]The part where Agent J finds out Agent K had known him after seeing his father die was a pretty nice touch to the series though[/sp]
I haven't seen any of the Predator movies either...
you need to see predator
predator 2 is awful and I don't think anything even needs to be said about the AvP films
see predator, alien, aliens, and alien 3 (director's cut)
[editline]14th June 2012[/editline]
that is all u need
[editline]14th June 2012[/editline]
alien 3 is a bit polarizing among the fanbase, i've heard both love and hate for it, that's why i included it
I just saw Gran Torino. Man, what a great movie. 9/10 I guess. [sp]God damn the driveby onward was a rollercoaster. Made my face wet.[/sp]
One of the best soundtracks I've heard in the past decade

(The Clint Eastwood version is also good)
Watched a few movies in past 3 days:
Project X - 5/10 (it had some pretty funny moments, but the movie itself kinda sucks).
Grave Encounters - 3/10 (the first part of movie was cool because of all those "ghost hunt" show parodies and it was a bit creepy, until all the [sp]CGI fucked-up faces bullshit monsters shit started[/sp]).
The Seventh Seal - 9/10 (just finished watching it, really thought provoking and emotional movie, enjoyed it, will watch again).

Thats been on my radar for some time but never got round to watching it, seeing a comrade on here recommend it has mobilised my mobilisation.

Scott Walker's version of that movie is amazing.
I saw that and rated it here some months ago too. Imo 9/10 is way too high. Prepare to be disappointed if you expect a 9/10 movie. I saw Ingmar Bergman's Persona and that was good.
I have to see more of his movies.

"Prepare to be disappointed if you expect a 9/10 movie.". That's a ridiculous thing to say. It's 9/10 in my own opinion, I really did enjoy that movie and some others will enjoy it too, and give it 9/10 or even a 10. It seems that you're implying that my opinion is globally wrong and that makes me disappointed.
Elite Squad 2 Enemy Within (2010)
Not really a big fan of sequels as they are often cash cows trying to cash in on previous success and rarely work. Elite Squad 2 is a study for anyone making a sequel of how to build on your first success and improve it.
Part 1 was a study of the Favella drug world and dirty cops verses the military police, part 2 ups the game and exposes the whole political system and what is really motivating those at the top. I'm not going to say anymore about it other than the actors are great and the script is fantastic. The voiceover is once again dominant and thats maybe the only negative I'll throw at it, as I don't need a film explaining as I'm watching it.

What I said is also an opinion too.
I do know there could be a consensus and people might agree with either of us, but I would never make an exaggerant objective claim like "no one thinks it's a 9/10" or "no one should think it's a 9/10".
With that said, I don't think it's a 9/10 and you shouldn't either. :v:
Aliens - 10/10
I haven't watched this in forever.

Alright, sorry for being hot-headed. I misunderstood the meaning of your reply.

Goodfellas - 10/10 (watched this one again, still my favourite. Must have been like 30th time I've seen it. Can't get enough).

I dunno, maybe he enjoyed an aspect of it that you didn't think about. The ratings are kind of meaningless though.

I don't think I'm missing anything, I think we had a different perception altogether.
Well yeah, you could say I'm wrong that I don't like The Usual Suspects as much as everyone else. It's one of the only "highly regarded" movies that I never saw the fuss about.
Crash 8/10 Worth a watch, interesting concept of how the world is tied together and seeing the emotions and the reasons behind those emotions makes for some funny/sad moments.
The moment with the [sp] little girls "invisible cloak" made me lose my breath. [/sp]
The Seventh Seal (1957)
This was quite heavy going but the idea is good and the questions deep. Theres no secret to the point of the film as it asks a question most of us do as some point in life.
The setting is a knight who has just returned to Sweden after 10 years in the crusades, only to find his country ravaged by the plague. He meets death and plays chess with him over a day to buy himself more time to find answers. The cast is good, the language is Swedish and go watch it. Max Von Syndow and his Squire played by Gunnar Björnstrand command the screen.

You should now watch Cronenberg's Crash from a few years before and see how the 2 compare. The film is not a remake or shares similarity.
will watch Nil By Mouth and Sexy Beast.
I feel I've neglected Ray Winstone's capability as an actor.
Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
7.5/10
maybe high balling that a bit because it was better than I expected it to be

That's the worst one imo
Prometheus
9/10
