it was just not a very solid script at all lmao
ok I guess thats a fair definition of it its kinda stupid that a movie that was supposed to answer questions ended up raising even more, but that's my only BIG complaint about it
Gonna watch a bunch of crime movies, first by rewatching The Departed, then watching Drive. Any other good crime films?
Gonna watch a bunch of crime movies, first by rewatching The Departed, then watching Drive. Any other good crime films?
Seven, L.A. Confidential, Bad Lieutenant (the new one), American Gangster, Casino.
L.A. Confidential is a great one that I always forget about
Alrighty, thanks guys.
Goodfellas
Bad taste id give it 6/10. It wasn't a bad movie. Sometimes some weird dialogue, even for the movie. But the overall retardedness of the movie is part of its charm i guess. I did like the ending, and the movie got me laughing sometimes. I did find it a little slow going in the beginning. That's why i give it a 6. It also funny to see how Peter Jackson got from bad taste and braindead to movies like lord of the rings and lovely bones.
Prometheus 3D IMAX Well its only worth the extra money for the IMAX if you're dripping with disposable income like I am, otherwise the normal cinema screen is enough. Story was fantastic and I thought the performances were great, Fassbender like everybody is saying steals the show. Many are saying the film leaves too many questions unanswered but I was satified that it covered everything so either I'm too stupid to look at the bigger picture and ask questions or I'm fucking Einstein. I understood all of the reasons, the whys and hows I think, feel free to prove me wrong. This was a great film, I was very happy with it.
I think it's mainly because it's combining more... what's that word...Things people despise. Together. I thought the movie itself was pretty good as in, how it was written. But the whole idea is rather sick ofcourse. And that's what it was meant to be.
i liked it too. honestly i thought it was hilarious. not in a bad way either, just how fast shit escalated and how at the halfway point pretty much every major action taken by any character is fucked up in some way. i guess it was so fucked up it peaked for me or something or like jumped the shark but like in a good way without being corny i guess. it's not the actual events themselves that are fucked up, it's the entire movie as a whole. and when i say hilarious i mean the actual definition, not the bullshit casual use. like how we use the word awesome to describe something great, when awesome really means so great that it passes the event horizon of greatness that you're just awe struck. or awful, same thing. used to mean something worthy of awe, now it means something terrible. [editline]18th June 2012[/editline] i'd probably be going out on a limb saying this but deep down inside i think that the movie is a parody of all the movies that have been coming out recently that are apart of this extreme cinema movement out of france. martyrs and irreversible are probably the two best examples.

How did these ancient people even know about the pattern? How do they know the engineers created them, and WHY would they even think of that hypothesis? Why does the old man think he can get eternal life? What did the infected guy turn into? (the scientist) And why did one of the infected guys (the scottish one) become a zombie? Why was he in such an awkward position outside the ship? What was the worm that came out of the infected scientist's eye? What was that black goo? Why did the engineers want to destroy the humans? What was the alien's motivation? Why did that guy's head explode? Why would Vickers have a medical thing in her room that's only for male patients? Is Shaw going to find her answers? Why are there so many species of aliens?[/sp] I'm pretty sure those aren't all the questions
The Iron Giant (1999) - 8/10 Great movie and I love the animations.
The animation is so fluent here.
I have to watch this ASAP.
Rewatched The Departed - 9/10 I knew what was going on, but the movie was still great. Drive - 9/10 Ryan Gosling is amazing
drive best movie all years every year
yeah, it was great
I just watched deliverance for the first time ever, and.... Wow. That was a great movie, it was cool since I was on the Chattooga river a year ago, a neat little connection to the movie. 10/10 for sure yo
Detachment - 7/10

I figured this was obvious (because it is, how is this even confusing to you there were two long drawn out shots of the worms, one of which was them getting soaked in goo, seriously dude get with the program) from this scene we can gather that the black goo is some kind of bioweapon that kickstarts evolution to some great degree or mutates the affected organism this movie raised a lot of unanswered questions but shit dude come on[/sp]
King Kong really ain't all that great, Sin City is pretty average, The Big Lebowski is a great comedy and that's all, Star Wars is insanely overrated and Stand By Me is just regular great. so basically ur wrong and thats a weird list of 'best movies of all time'.

[sp]If that room was storage for weapons, why was the a giant head in there? Do they worship the head in the same room as the deadly weapons? There is a difference between asking philosophical questions with no ultimate answer and things that make no fucking sense![/sp]

I watched Men in Black 3 on Sunday, i didnt have high hopes but i thought it was alright. I really need to watch the first two before watching the third again. Then maybe i could apprecate it a bit more. Bare in mind, I had watched the first quite often when i was younger and the second one at least once. Yet i hardly remember them both. I'll give it a 7, But thats placeholder untill i watch the first two again.
maybe they do. you don't know anything about their culture.
Sounds like a bit of a cop-out excuse. Like he said, there is a difference between asking philosophical questions with no ultimate answer and things that make no fucking sense! This is a case of the latter.
I didn't find a megathread for this movie, but I watched the A Clockwork Orange for the first time, ever. And... it was pretty interesting. Even if it was old, and long, I could sit through it no problem, unlike say, X-Men: First Class, or some shit like that. So, something noteworthy; Was the main protagonist even cured? Didn't seem like it. Also at the end, with the press was taking pictures and shit, and the music playing, was it the 9th Bethoven? The protagonist's face turned VERY psycho, like as if he flipped.. again, or so?
drive best movie all years every year
420 head stomp REAL HUMAN BEING erry day
my mom conveniently decided to see what i was watching the very moment the shot of those posh people having sex in slow-motion came on
Bottle Rocket: 7.5/10. Great characters with a lot of witty dialogue and funny moments. I like how naive the characters are to life and I love how the film that has absolutely no hints of cynicism in it. I recommend this film to any fans of Wes Anderson's films, although it can be a bit slow in the middle of the film.
I just found about about this "Black Dynamite" film. Seems funny. You guys recommend it?
