That movie reminded me that the director needs to drink acid and do us all a favour. Maybe its because this last two weeks I've seen some top class films, this isn't one of them. I wish I had Vera Farmiga's boobs.
Attack the block (2011) 8/10
Just watched I on film 4 and loved it, well written and directed although there where bits that could have been done better e.g. Smokey scenes it was good overall. The actors where very good and convincing. Well the main characters that is, the girls wheren't very good. Even the 9 year olds where well acted. Funny and enjoyable to watch.
watched God Bless America, something i really looked forward to
5/10, incredibly disappointed. wayyy too ranty for it's own good.
rants are good when they're pent up and suddenly unleashed in a glorious climax. not scattered throughout an entire film, each longer than the last.

I know what you mean, his first rant to the co-worker is just such a damp squib.
Attack The Block
Went in with low expectations because I seem to remember Kermode panning it when it was released (although I've since refreshed my memory and he said it was good but didn't live up to his expectations). It took me a while to get into it because I found some the use of slang (more the amount of it) unbelievable and some of the acting didn't help either. As the film progressed either the slang decreased or I became desensitised to it and I started to enjoy the film a lot more. The main character Moses (played by excellent newcomer John Boyega) was definitely the most interesting, although he didn't say too much. Ron (Nick Frost) was funny when he was on screen, although that wasn't often.
All in all, a brilliant debut for both director Joe Cornish and star John Boyega.
7.5/10
I didn't have any negative or positive expectation for Attack The Block other than the fact that I love UK humor. I thought it was pretty good, though I felt it could be much funnier given the premise and context. I'd say 6.75/10 or 7/10 from memory.
The Master of Disguise - 0/10
terrible
Project X 9/10.
Music, boobies, funny as fuck, crazy shit. Only thing that some people may not like is the fact its supposed to be like it was filmed with a handheld camera (Cloverfield)
Don't do it.
I was given some thought to watching that movie.
I might watch it at the grad party this Wednesday.
Basically its just Superbad on Steroids. I enjoyed it, personally. But, you have to have a taste for it.
The Fighter 8/10
I liked how during the fights they used a different camera/post processing to make the wrestling matches feel more televised, hated that cunt Alice
The Man With the Movie Camera - 9/10
Fantastic film. The camerawork and effects were groundbreaking, the score was very pleasant to listen to and it provided an interesting insight into Russian life during 1929.

that's when the movie started going down hill - before that he had completely kept it in, but you knew he was thinking it. he was just observing how terrible everybody else is. it should have continued like that, he didn't need to explain everything in a million rants, it really ruined it i think.

I don't care whether he likes it or not, I'm just saying quite a few people here might get on his shit for giving it only a 6.

All I can say is 'bring on the sequel'.
Won't be same directors (those fuckers are skipping out on making a sequel to cloudy with a chance of meatballs and 21 jump street so they can make a fucking lego movie), seriously doubt it'll be as good
