yes i am ??? i love satire i just don't like strangelove because it isn't good satire at all and it's just not funny
Maybe "older" satires then. Have you seen Network?
if u dont like blade runner ur stupid
Oh no people can't have different opinions
Yes Network is fucking fantastic (unlike strangelove!!) [editline]26th June 2012[/editline]
Oh no people can't have different opinions
of course they can have a different opinion, they'd just be wrong :~)
Well then what's right
Well then what's right
mine (in my opinion, if u people seriously insist that i keep having to point that out)
Yes Network is fucking fantastic (unlike strangelove!!)
Then you make no sense to me. End of discussion.
i know what makes sense, it's that dr strangelove is an unfunny satire that kids tell themselves they enjoy to feel cultured and relevant because it's black and white, directed by stanley kubrick and parodies the cold war.

This shouldn't be funny, for example. Neither should he be funny for his role as a dumb General: [editline]25th June 2012[/editline] but it's so blatantly ridiculous, that I can't help myself.
you're right it shouldn't, and it's not. whatever subtlety it has is overwhelmed by the clunky slapstick, over acting, poor delivery and cringe worthy puns. [editline]26th June 2012[/editline] im tired of talking about it nobodys going to change my mind and i'm not going to change theirs
No I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm just trying to make sense of it. And it does make sense now. :)
now you are a step closer to seeing the truth :)
also this speech is definitely not meant to be funny: He explains communistic infiltration in terms of the water he drinks. It just plays with the seriousness of absurdness. [editline]25th June 2012[/editline] Rusty was onto something all along. But I can't waver my love for Strangelove. :)
yes i am ??? i love satire i just don't like strangelove because it isn't good satire at all and it's just not funny
I'd have to run with Rusty on this one. I love all of Kubrick's films but this one I didn't get at all. Never been a fan of Sellers and realised Kubrick and comedy doesn't really work unless its subtle humour like that of Barry Lyndon (great film). We do seem to be in a minority, most love Stangelove.
Can anyone suggest me movies similar to The Room? The acting deserves an oscar.

Has anyone seen this? Come and see (1985) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091251/
yes, it is supreme you will love it.
Contact (1997) 8/10 Probably one of the best sci-fi movies I've ever seen. I immediately went to the library to check out the book because I can only imagine how awesome the book is.

Super (2010) 8/10 I really enjoyed it and it really surprised me. At times it was silly but most importantly it didn't bore me for a second. I read few reviews and a lot of people actually don't like it so that makes me feel a bit weird when I actually think the movie was better than some bigger films.
Can anyone recommend a good movie? Horror-ish, modern, not obscure? That or just something that is a great watch.
The Innkepers The Orphanage.
Can anyone recommend a good movie? Horror-ish, modern, not obscure? I could also send you a sextape of me and your dad in the bath together.

Well I haven't seen my dad in ... 16 years? So, it'd be intriguing but awfully sickening.
The Innkepers The Orphanage.
Orphanage seems interesting in the trailer, I'll give er a shot.
Child's play is a pretty good movie in my opinion, albeit a lot less horror than just slashing. The grudge, that one still gets me. Watch all three in one night. That's My Boy! - 8/10. Good movie, kept my attention. Although, it seems that the main character changed skin colors. If you don't know what I mean, [sp] the main character, Adam Sandler, plays an older version of a guy who had sex with his teacher, but the actor playing the younger boy was latino-looking and had darker skin.[/sp]
Tracker - 7/10 Enjoyed it. A bit slow and I had a hard time understanding some of the dialogue, as if they'd just shot everything on location instead of doing ADR later on. 30 Days of Night - 7/10 Didn't expect it to be very good at all, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not a big horror fan but it kept me entertained.
Okay just watched Kill List as recommended. I do have to say, that it was quite an odd movie. [sp]I don't understand it though. Why was there naked people, with tree sticks around their faces? Why did this girl just.. pick his family for him to kill his own son and his wife? Why did his wife laugh when she died? what is going on[/sp]

Ninotchka - 9/10 So back in 1939 romantic comedies had good plots and were actually funny.
