That's My Boy - 9.5

City of men (2007) Sadly when somebody calls a film by that title it raises expectation which can't be helped. If this film stood on its own without the shadow of the awesome 'City of God' then it would be a good film. Its a good watch anyway and shares many similarities such as the sepia tone of the film and a story in a favella. The film is centered around the friendship of 2 young men who end up having their bond tested by a circumstance that is no fault of their own. Overall the film is good as are the performances but the score let it down somewhat. The music made it feel like a tv drama which I found out afterwards was the basis for the film. Merchant of Venice (2004) Who likes Shakespeare? Nope I fucking hate him too and this film irritated the fuck out of me by the time I got half way in. The lines sounded read and the performances hollow. Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Joseph Fiennes and some other people managed to make a film so fake and unreal that I actually turned it off half way through. Fuck Shakespeare.

I just finished The Bank Job. I love Jason Statham, so my 8/10 may be a bit biased, but damn that movie was good.
Suckerpunch 7.5/10 Thor 7/10
why did you rate suckerpunch higher than thor
why did you rate suckerpunch higher than thor
Because he enjoyed it more.
American Reunion 3/10. If it was not for the T&A it would be a 1/10. If you want to see attractive females watch porn, don't go in expecting to enjoy anything else from this movie.
I thought it was good for an american pie movie
Nil By Mouth well.. this is London. The true heart of London.. back in the good old days. Things have changed, but it's still here. It begins with the good old "fucks, cunts and bollocks" then starts to pierce my heart when it gets real. I dunno, for some reason, I felt this was me even though I've never directly experienced this level of pain. This side of London, is genuinely fucked up.. however as you see the lighter sides, it does prop you up. But the reality is that this is gutwrenchingly real. Ray Winstone has never been this heartfelt or aggressive and insane. Who else to direct and write this than Gary Oldman. my heart for that man has now risen to new heights.
I, too, love Gary Oldman. The man is brilliant in everything he does, even with shit roles like Sirius Black (I would consider this his weakest role, but it was still immensely enjoyable).
consider this. when someone posts an emotional review, don't be a plum. [editline]29th June 2012[/editline] yeah this movie got to my head.. there is a part where a dude is saying lines off a movie on a TV, memorised them clearly, and just says them as it plays with such accuracy it's amazing, the movie was Apocalypse Now too which makes it all the more insane how it fits with me.

Try reading a literary analysis on the character. He's only the stereotypical father figure on the surface. As soon as you start digging, shit gets very complex.
Mr Oldman is a very complex man. And I never knew it until realising it through Nil By Mouth.
The Gray. I would give it a 10/10 rating. That movie was just really good, one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) Basically a documentary on the production of the movie Apocalypse Now (1979), giving an insightful view on what it really takes to make such a full scale and brilliant movie. I thought it was a really good documentary for me because I am interested in both making and watching movies. As a documentary it stood out from most of others because it gave this very insightful feel on several aspects of the making of the movie. Anyway, a totally strong 9/10
Holy shit dude just watched Apocalypse Now. Fucking amazing. 10/10.
woah dude did you do that because I posted about the documentary or was it just a coincidence? ~~
Brave 4/5 I didn't know what to expect going into it, but it was good.
The Reunion - 4/10 Watched it because John Cena = action. The action was shitty.

It was a war in itself. [editline]29th June 2012[/editline] Is it me or is there a lot of Apocalypse Now after I said it, coincidence? I THINK NOT.
Usually when people bring up Apocalypse Now I want to watch it.
I've seen it way too many times but I always have a feel to see it again... This time I have to physically refuse and see something else. I'm thinking to see XXY, recommended after overhearing it in the street. (not really a personal recommendation) :v:
When I was younger, my dad jokingly said that I wasn't allowed to watch Apocalypse now until I was 18, since it is rated 18 and to fully appreciate it, I turned 18 last week and i'm looking forward to seeing it.
woah dude did you do that because I posted about the documentary or was it just a coincidence? ~~
Coincidentally chose to watch it because you posted it? :v: I heard about it before, thought it was about time I watched it. It was ridiculously good.
