Brave
6/10
Visually stunning but the story was very cliche.
Just curious but what would "female oriented" be like in this case?
He is another one of those people that do not understand that Hunger Games is not about the Hunger Games itself but the characters involved with it. (a.k.a. not a book reader)
Character development > cheap action
I laugh every time someone says Battle Royale is better considering there is basically zero story development. I do understand that the movie was not that great and infact took out a lot of the character development to make it more main stream like the common retards enjoy.
I check IMDB top list all the time for tv shows and movies. I never checked rotten tomototes but I'll give that a look.
The Room 10/10
finally got around to watch it. brilliant movie
don't you mean at least negative a thousand out of 10
It has a lot of things going for it, but being good at being a film isn't one of them.
BUT:
It has some good sounds and it is more than a little visually pleasing. I really love the escapism and i don't often submit myself to the horror of steampunk mediocrity, so that was not harrowing either.
Let's face it, those short fantasy segments would have made for a killer mini-series in 25 minute segments rather than a film.

the fantasy segments were some of the more boring parts of the film - you know none of them are real. they are entirely in her imagination. thus, there is no danger. none of it is happening. it's like watching somebody's dreams. they're of no consequence, who cares? all emotion is drained of out of when none of the characters are in any danger whatsoever.
not to mention they were robotically choreographed and completely nonsensical
Watched matrix again 9.5/10 it's just plain awesome
Amazing Spider-Man (7.5/10)
It had its lengths, but the action and the swinging scenes were awesome, especially the ones in first person.
watched Malcolm X
now it's fair to see why Spike Lee hates white people. :)
3 hours and a quarter hours, wonderful depiction of a man I didn't feel many thoughts about.

I found malcolm x to have very slapdash editing, heaps of smash cuts. it was quite jarring and i don't know why it did that

I noticed this too. For a 3 hour movie you wouldn't expect pointless 3 second camera shots.
I guess for the longer sections it worked, but when it "hurried" it up, it kind of took away from the experience.

I didn't think much of the flashbacks either... really not needed when people have a brain.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
9/10

They were a visual analogy of what was going on when she was dancing. There was danger. But any danger in there was only danger that could be mirrored in the real world [sp]ie The stabbing[/sp]
Your criticism hinges on ignoring that analogy. AND your gripe with the film seems to be a problem that only 10 films since 1955 don't have. Hero invincibility.

I tend to notice that the longer a movie is, the more gentle they are with cuts. Getting nudged out of the immersion is easy after 2 hours and no breaks... For some.

Uhh what? The tension lies in knowing the hero is in real danger - and knowing they don't always live in the end. So it's only happened 10 times you say? You don't know this isn't 11. [sp]She did die in the end basiaclly anyway so[/sp]
the gripe is that the things happening during the action sequences, are not really happening in the film universe. NOR are they mirroring real events! where did you get that? she's only dancing for people, she's never under any threat DURING her dances. that's why most of the films more interesting parts happen outside the action scenes where there is real threat. but during her dance, represented to the audience by an emotionless action scene, she is never in any real danger. men are surrounding her and adoring her during most of them. they're not even a good visual metaphor for her dance. we as the audience have no fuckin idea how she danced, that might be the point but it's pretty dumb. i think a much more accurate is that zach snyder is not a very intelligent man who isn't capable of putting the level of thought into his movies that other are and simply does things because he wants to or because they would look or be cool. my problem isn't protagonist invincibility. don't make this more than it is. it's about suckerpunch's dullness brought on by shallow action that has absolutely no consequence in the film world and is only a visual representation imagined by her of her dancing. the scenes themselves carry no weight. what comes before and after do (although still not very much since its just a shitty film).

That good? It didn't look that spectacular at a glance.
The Help. It was great. Emma Stone is a great actress.
has anyone seen Ted yet?
It was basically a live action version of Family Guy, starring Mark Wahlburger and Flash Gordon.
I do enjoy the humour to a degree but I hate the "I'm just like some guy when they did something or other *ramble on a little*..." bits.
That said I did like the film, overall maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10.
Yeah, I'd give Ted a 5 or a 6 out of 10.
I found some of the humor alright, but most of it felt stupid to me.
Just curious but what would "female oriented" be like in this case?
i kind of thought it would be another one of those films like twilight, like with the gratuitous ab-shots and stuff, and like the lead guy unconditionally has to be in love with the lead girl - you know. that kind of crap.
it did a good job of steering away from that. (thank god)

i actually read the book.
but i guess you couldn't tell that through your unwarranted sense of superiority though
The 13th Warrior - 8/10
Been like 5-6 years since I last watched this movie. Enjoyed it very much. Especially nice to understand most of the dialogue spoken by the vikings without the need of subtitles, although most of it is just Danish, Norwegian and Swedish muddled together.
One of my favorite scenes:

American Reunion 4/10
It was nice to see them back together, but the fact is that this movie was a mediocre, boring, clichè packed, time wasting experience.
I might have giggled a few times, but i sighed and yawned much more often.
like I said already, I thought it was good for an american pie movie. keep in mind, almost all american pie films are mediocre and filled with cliches, and the only reason most people liked them before is because they were teenagers when they saw them.
Primer 7.5/10
I think I understood most of it, there was a couple of things I had to look up afterwards though.
Broken Flowers: It's one of those films that start out with a plot, but the plot never really goes anywhere, not to say that's a bad thing, but the film is very much focused on the main character (played by Bill Murray). There's a whole heap of subtext in the film that you might miss the first time you watch it (I sure did) And the ending may throw some people off, but overall I enjoyed it, would recommend if you like the surreal feel of Wes Anderson/Coen Brothers movies.

that's true, cause you could relate to the protagonists. In fact i rewatched them not long ago and found them much less funny than the first time.
The Green Hornet
had a Nissan GTR in it,
8/10
the green hornet was a 3/10 at best.
Memento 8/10
A mindfcking movie
saw The Tenant
yeah, Polanski is the man... or a woman, whatever. :]
the green hornet was a 3/10 at best.
It had a GTR in it for 5-6 seconds, therefore it gets the extra 5 points
