God Bless America 10/10 NOTHING is more truer than this movie, it doesn't even have ANY of the usual movie clichés and everything about this movie is just perfect for me.
is this post a joke like seriously is it a joke
ted - 4/10 felt like one family guy episode that was stretched into an entire movie
Finally got around to see fight club. 9/10.
I don't rank The Great Dictator very high in the Chaplin library myself, I'm just thinking it might be too jarring for someone who has only seen one black and white movie to immediately jump into the silent era. I say this because I'm friends with a lot of people who have bad movie opinions and it's hard enough to get them to consider watching a movie made before the 90s, moreso with black & white movies, and even further with silent movies. And then their reaction will generally be "well that was interesting to see I guess but it really made me appreciate how good movies are now"
I don't give a crap, I saw those movies as a kid thanks to my dad. It's not like the movies are "too deep" for anyone to watch. Casablanca was probably the wrong choice for a first bw film, I love that movie but only first saw that a few months back.
My 10 year old brother watches almost exclusively b&w films.
"more truer"
English isn't my first language.
showed my friend Alien for the first time "this nigga sweatin milk what the fuck" [editline]13th July 2012[/editline] he only gave it an 8/10 oh well
Looking for a great black and white movie, The only black and white I have watched fully is casablanca, I didn't really get it and was really just watching to pretend I had taste, or something I need a black and white movie that I can enjoy as much as a modern day flick
Witness for the Prosecution (1954)
Witness for the Prosecution (1954)
haven't seen that one, you should have posted it in that legal/court movies thread. :-)
End of Evangelion, 9.5/10 I don't like Orange Tang anymore.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (David Fincher's version) 8.5/10 Didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, but its still a very good movie.
Just came back from Moonrise Kingdom I loved it. It started off quirky and then just spiraled into complete, fantastic absurdity. The actors were great and the cinematography was beautiful. Also went with two people who have never seen a Wes Anderson movie and they also seemed to love it so that turned out well.
Just watched Ted 7/10. I enjoyed it for the type of movie it was. Also, OutofExile2 I truly envy you at the moment. I cannot wait to watch that movie.
There aren't any theaters within like a 20 mile radius of me that are playing moonrise kingdom
Crazy, Stupid, Love: 8/10 Pretty good film with a nice cast. Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Julian Moore and Kevin Fucking Bacon.
haven't seen that one, you should have posted it in that legal/court movies thread. :-)
Sorry babe, this is pretty much the only thread I browse in the Film/TV section. Carlito's Way - 9/10. Can't remember the last time I wanted the protagonist to succeed so much.
21 jump street 6/10 Don't know why its so hyped.
Hunger Games - 9/10 I liked the book as well as the movie. My only complaint is the shaky camera on some of the scenes.
UHF -10/10
Mission Impossible 6/10 MI2 4/10 MI3 5/10 Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol 7.5/10 It was here where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Ghost Protocol was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three movies.
Ong-Bak 2 it was very bad except for the action 4/10

I'm not usually one for slapstick humour but the bit where he is rappelling down the burj dubai and trys to swing through the window made me lmao.
Ghost Protocol felt a LOT different the preceding 3. To be honest, it's the only one worth watching for the sheer relentlessness of the stunts.
21 jump street 6/10 Don't know why its so hyped.
i dont either, but its definitely higher than a 6/10
Ghost Protocol felt a LOT different the preceding 3. I didn't expect it to be very good but was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it more than the ones before it.
I dunno about everyone else but the first 3 were duds imo.
13 Assassins 8/10 Slow build-up but the payoff was huge. They shoulda put up a killcount for the latter half, they killed more people than that scene in Kill Bill.

I remember there was a tf2 machinima based on the same idea. [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] I recently watched the Dead Poets society, it was more downbeat than I expected at the end, and I didn't find it as uplifting as perhaps it was intended to be(?) but nonetheless I really enjoyed it. I liked all the characters (except that one guy's douchebag dad) as they all seemed very genuine with great performances from the cast, but the ending left it feeling a little unresolved in my opinion. This is probably a good thing because a typical hollywood happy ending would have been innappropriate, so I guess i'll give it an 8.5/9 out of 10.
