Can anyone recommend me some good Sci-Fi movies to watch? I've watched Akira, Children of Men, 2001, the majority of ones you'd see on top 25 lists, can anyone think of any else?

The Hunter (2011, the Australian one) - 8/10 Willem Dafoe was really good in this role, in my opinion. The choice shoot in Tasmania was probably the best decision, the shots were amazing and it really did instill a feeling of remoteness in the film. The plot was pretty interesting, too, except I had mixed feelings about [sp]there being a live Tasmanian Tiger that he kills, it just felt to me that it could have been executed better, I can't quite put my finger on it, though.[/sp] The child actors were surprisingly good at acting, too.
just woke up 6 hours after i came back from the marathon Batman Begins 8.5/10 Dark Knight 10/10 Dark Knight Rises 9.5/10 (not sure) i'm gonna need to see Rises again because my brain was literally at the brink of dieing when the movie started (it started at 6 AM)
The Dark Knight - 4.5/5 Pretty spectacular. This was also the first viewing where I was able to keep track of absolutely everything going on. When I first saw it (in cinemas) I found it hard to keep up with all the different plots. But once it's all a bit clearer all the attention to detail and things going on are amazing. Also Heath Ledger Joker is best joker.
Paranormal Activity 3 - 3/10 This movie manages to make jump scares unscary. It used the same formula as the last movie but with more unnecessary plot elements that just confused things. It was overly long (even at 83 fucking minutes), full of plot holes and made no sense whatsoever.

In The Loop - 8/10 hilarious
The Dark Knight Rises - 8.5/10
Equilibrium.
This is a good film. Christian Bale is in it.
watched Witness for the Prosecution. the dude who plays Winston Churchill is awesome. Genuinely awesome court flick, it's not the "long drawn out" ones that are around (even though I like them a lot), it's actually pretty intense and truly hilarious. Classic.
Marlene Dietrich is the shit.
The Dark Knight Rises 9/10 Damn Christopher Nolan sure knows how to surprise the audience. Although there are some minor issues with the plot and other stuff, it's a fantastic film and a great entry in the trilogy. I don't think it's better than The Dark Knight though, I'd put it on the same level. One thing that really bothered me was Bane's voice: when he's not shouting it's really hard to understand what he's saying.
Dark Knight Rises: 9/10. I really really enjoyed it. I find it funny how Bale's facial expression get so...weird when he's Batman, but his acting is great as Bruce Wayne. And his voice is just hilariously bad as Batman sometimes. Not that it takes much away from the film, absolutely not, but its amusing at least. Two major complaints: Bane's voice, which was not so much "bad" as it was just unsettling, and the fact that I was saying to myself "...Did he just kill those people?" a lot toward the end of the movie. I'd be very disappointed if they actually let Batman kill people, but I know they probably didn't. But some of those explosions were brutal.

the shawshank redemption - 7.5/10 i'm really disappointed. like, really. let's just get the big things out of the way first - the whole movie played like a wheel of cheese. all it felt like to me was a big string of "aww, that's touching" moments, and not much else. the characters felt really flat. you've got the typical bully-archetype gay rapist, typical good guy never-did-no-harm protagonist - like, where have i seen these guys before? and did anyone else notice how the movie spans decades without any change in the guards? maybe i'm viewing this movie from the wrong year. maybe it was original back in '94. but i'm just not feeling it.
Just came back from TDKR and although it was great, TDK just felt better and I'm pretty sure the main reason is that I was just so unbelievably psyched for TDKR that no matter how good it was there was no way it could've lived up to my expectations Mass hype strikes again
The Dark Knight Rises - 10/10 Great movie, as good as the first two if not better.
My Best Fiend (1999) Docu film from Wernar Herzog about his collaborations with Klaus Kinski. Kinski was a madman and a powerhouse on and off screen but because of this he was an amazing man to watch. It follows his professional life, if you can call it that, and gives an insight into how the 2 of them worked together. This is for fans of the 2 of them and not for casual viewing. I thought it was great and revealed as much about Herzog as Kinski. If you've not seen Aguirre, Fitzcarraldo or their other films then expect soilers.
TDKR 9/10 Thank goodness for more action
Dark Knight Rises 9/10
The Dark Knight Rises 9.5/10
We Need To Talk About Kevin 10/10 I've never been this affected by a film. It's just so incredibly harrowing. Every image, every word and every sound just makes it so immersive and disturbing. One of the few film adaptations I've liked more than the original book.

why haven't you just gone to see it already
why haven't you just gone to see it already
I will... I plan on seeing it in Imax in London. The screen is possibly the best I've ever seen.
X-men: First class. Somewhere between 3.5/5 and 4/5 I was never a huge X-men fan. the first was okay, the second was pretty good. Haven't even seen the third. But this was one easily the best. The actors were really good, the action was pretty spectacular. There were some pretty silly things though, like the mutants showing off their powers scene, and they seemed to find any excuse to get the women in some hot lingerie. Also Professor X and Magneto's relationship was kind of odd. They meet each other, we see a couple of scenes of them talking, all of a sudden they're best friends. I don't know, I just thought there would be more of a character based story, rather than a political one. But overall a solid movie.
american history x, 7.5/10
You guessed it, The Dark Knight Rises 9/10. Its good go see it
Went to go see The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX at 10:30pm but they were sold out 15min before it started. So I decided to stick around for the 2:40am showing and watch the new Spiderman movie for the next 2 hours. The Amazing Spider-man - 7/10 This was my second time watching it and it made me see some things I didn't see before. Still a good movie but I don't think I'll watch it again. The Dark Knight Rises - 9/10 [sp]I felt like the pacing of the movie was just ridiculous. They spent so long on the set-up and they skip months at a time within seconds during the third act. When the entire thing came down to a 'race against time' for Gordon to get the jammer to the bomb before Tate pushes the button, and Tate needlessly delays it, I just sighed. I guess it's just a problem with the movie format, there's really no time to feel like The Dark Knight had. [/sp] Overall it's still a great movie.
