Total Recall (the new one)...it was surprisingly good! Fairly solid plot, solid acting, spectacular visual design...I was quite impressed. It's not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination except perhaps in the art department, but it was a very solid film. 8/10, will definitely watch again (on Blu-Ray).
Raging Bull: 98/100 Loved it, among the greatest movies I think. I will undoubtedly watch more Martin Scorsese movies in the near future.
thomas jane is not a good actor. hes bad ass in a few movies. but acting well isnt his strong suite [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] i mean he acts well ENOUGH, but hes never gonna be winning any awards any time soon
I thought he was pretty awesome in Boogie Nights, but usually he isn't that great I guess.
The Dark Knight Rises 10/10 The [sp]foreshadowing revealed in the ending was fantastic. teared up with Alfred. Such a champ. Bat and Cat hooking up made ne happy too.[/sp]
The Dark Knight Rises 9.5/10 Great movie and a fantastic end to the trilogy. However I don't feel it beats out The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger was one of the things that made the Dark Knight so great and Tom Hardy just couldn't live up to his predecessor, don't get me wrong he was still fantastic, maybe it was the writing, or the character, after all the Joker is one of the greatest Villains ever [sp]Also, I suprized it took me so long to pick up on the whole Talia thing, after just finishing Arkham city, I should have known Ra's didn't have a son[/sp]
The Amazing Spiderman: 9/10 I really liked it. There were some parts where the acting was a tad iffy, but not enough to ruin the movie for me.
I've decided to watch the "Saw" Series of Films. I just finished Saw III Saw I - 6/10 Saw II - 7.5/10 Saw III - 7/10 My friends have told me they think they should have stopped after 3, so I'll have to see if I agree with them.
Saw 1 was best
Saw 1 was best
I preferred Saw II. I think I liked seeing how a larger group of people as a part of Jigsaw's "Games" with some trying to work together and others (Particularly Xavier) Only thinking of themselves. Now that I look at it, I suppose I rated Saw I a little low.
Well.. the first Saw is the only movie in the series where you have to use a slight portion of your brain. Saw 2 was an intriguing concept, but execution was ridiulously poor. That being said.. it's an understandable guilty pleasure.
Elite Squad 8/10 Elite Squad: The Enemy Within 9/10 These hidden gems are one of the best action movies out there. The second one uses less violence but just as thrilling. Rockstar even mentioned these as inspiration for Max Payne 3 and it shows.
I like the first and second Saw movies. The rest are garbage, especially the fifth one. The only one after Saw II that was even decent was the sixth, and that's cutting it a lot of slack.
The fifth one was so bad i just kept skipping parts on netflix :v:
What does this mean? Is a 50 year old movie supposed to seem like it's made in 2012? I don't get why "too old" is a valid opinion.
It means that a lot in the movie has been done a lot better or what is considered better has changed since it was released. In that sense I don't feel like 12 angry men and 2001 has aged.

Maybe people as a whole won't get 2001, but 12 Angry Men is something I reckon an entire population will get. It has characters of such different kind, different backgrounds and feels. And at the same time, it's so FRIGGIN GOOD TO WATCH.
Captain America: The First Avenger 8/10
Bernie 8/10

Ilsa: She-wolf of the SS 7/10 I wasn't expecting much but jesus christ that was a helluva disturbing movie I was recommended it by a friend
Total Recall 8/10 Three boobs. Worth it.
the new one?
the new one?
3 boobs in new one? omg ...
Psycho 9/10 some scenes scared me shitless holy fuck
Avatar (full 3 hour long version) 6/10 Definitely better than the theatrical version. Most of the added scenes add some depth to the characters, but the story is still essentially pocahontas and it kinda ruins a good part of the movie. I still find the movie enjoyable for what it is, a visually impressive sci-fi flick. I also enjoyed the movie more in 2D, as the 3D even for that one movie which promoted the whole new wave of 3D is very pointless.
(500) Days of Summer - 8/10 Really good, but then, i'm a real sucker for those kind of romantic comedy movies. I also have to add Wristcutters: A Love Story - 9/10 Found this while browsing IMDB for movies similiar to garden state or happythankyoumoreplease. Had never heard about it before and thought that it was some kind of really deep downer, but damn, was i in for a surprise! One of the most wierd, fun and most awesome movies i've seen for a while. Strongly recommended!
The Butcher Boy was on TG4 tonight, christ what a horrible feeling that film gives me. That being said it's a real tragic tale with a few comedic elements thrown in, but those are mostly to show the lads unwillingness to see reality, like when he was talking to his dead Dad's body for a week. It also has Sinead O'Connor as the Virgin Mary for some reason. 9/10
The Amazing Spider Man 8/10 not bad, better than the last ones they did. But that first part of the movie, there was so much spaghetti I could nearly smell it.
The League of Extraordinary Gentleman (2003) - 7/10. Saw it years ago when I was a kid. Figured I would have disliked it now that I can understand what's going in, nope. Was a fun watch.
Lockout - 9/10 I sat down to watch this thinking it was going to be a cookie cutter run of the mill shoot em up sci fi movie and a quick way to kill an hour and a half. Holy shit this movie was way way better than I ever imagined it to be. Guy Pearce's performance is pretty fuckin good and the chemistry between him and other characters is what really makes the movie great. My only gripe is the ending. [sp]You never find out what Frank(I think that was his name) had uncovered and was murdered for.[/sp]
