The Lucky One - 7/10
A little too obvious but I don't think you could do anything about that, still a pretty good movie I think.
The Big Lebowski
my all time favorite

Detachment
not sure how I found this, I was just on a search for a bunch and came across it.
Saw Adrien Brody and Tony Kaye (director of American History X) in the list and decided to give it a go. I was always fond of Brody's acting, he hadn't really given me what he's truly capable of doing since The Pianist. I recently saw "The Darjeeling Limited", which was good but not due to the acting by all means. This dude is a great screen actor and just needs to find the right role.
Well this movie, I knew little about. Looked like a classroom flick, with fairly decent cast members alongside.
I watched, and what I was given pierced my heart. It turns out the movie hit all the right places in me when it concerns culture and challenges teenagers face when growing up. Brody's character has a strength like no other, but still has the flaws of life that do tear people apart. What a role... this is one that's allowed him to breathe completely as an actor. He handles pressure, he handles pain but he has breaking points too. It's as real as he has ever been.
More so than The Pianist, I'm not joking. It wasn't a movie "dominated" by his performance though, as I had expected. There's a big pile of personality that goes along with the message. James Caan and Lucy Liu were gems... really great actors that seem to be neglected in this age.
It won't be for everyone, but this movie left its feel within me and my appreciation for Tony Kaye has increased dramatically.
One last thing...
Rotten Tomatoes - 57%
It's a moment when critics should shove a hand through their ear and out their ass.
The concept itself is kinda dumb anyway. Seriously? [sp]Giant rats? You're dealing with a mine, there's so many ideas![/sp]
Sometimes simplicity is the best way to go, but it is more complex than [sp]giant rats. Even in the film, the large one had wings. In the story there were more of those, plus other mutations.[/sp]
safety not guaranteed - a week has passed since i saw it and im still not sure what i think about it
its mostly just a weird movie
Trainspotting - 9/10
It was quite different from what I expected, in a good way though.

not sure if i should watch this one. is it worth it?
Just got back from Expendables 2. 8/10.
I would rate it higher but I'd feel weird rating a movie where at least 80 percent of the movie was killing people but who am I kidding it was pretty fucking awesome.
Just finished Primal Fear. Great, great performance from Edward Norton.
Norton aside. It's your typical crime movie.
Definitely worth a watch though.
7/10.
The Campaign 6/10
Funny first half then it started getting boring.

it isnt bad or something, its just that the plot is pretty strange and makes if hard for me
to decide if i like it or not,
but my friend who i saw it with really enjoyed it. and also it got a lot of good reviews..
Boy in the striped pyjamas
I was expecting much more from this. The cast were poor other than Vera Faraminga who is always excellent. The camp Kommandant was badly cast as the actor who played him can act when the role is right. The kids were awful and it was the usual all Nazi's are the bad guys.
I'll be honest, this bored the tits off me.
Heil Hitler /10
The Expendables 2: 8.5/10
I went to have fun, and I had hella fun. Lundgren and Crews in particular were brilliant.
The Cabin in the Woods - 8/10...
Damn, that was really good.
Hilarious, sick, and had some decent scares.
Nerdgasmed at all of the typical Whedon cast members.
The Cabin in the Woods 8/10
awesome movie
[sp]the title suddenly appearing at the beginning made me jump. fuck[/sp]
Oldboy (2003) - 10/10
Holy fuck I wasn't expecting the shit in that movie, fantastic film.
Billy Elliot - 9/10
Hadn't seen it in ages, still brilliant though.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, a pretty cool combination. The movie was good, had several exciting moments.
saving private ryan - 9/10
I "liked" the realstic portrayal of war and the emphasize on emotions
I am so bored today I am actually going to watch a horror movie. I think I'll pick Cabin in the Woods because you flamers and everyone else keeps rating it so highly.

Not much to say, really. It's perfectly cast, beautifully shot, the soundtrack is amazing and it's filled with memorable scenes. Can't fucking wait for The Hobbit.

Really good movie, first role I've seen Andrew Scott in outside of Sherlock; I felt he did a fantastic job.
