The Thing 2011 6/10 Well that was incredibly average, it had some moments, but not enough to make it a great movie.
Finally got around to watching Watchmen. Quite a breath of fresh air from from a lot of the recent super hero movies (ie Thor), although I haven't seen the Avengers yet. Wasn't afraid to sacrifice killing a few million people and splattering a few more against the wall for the childrens sake, and had both an intriguing plot and intense action. I'd give it an 8/10, where five is average, ten is the movie that would ruin all other movies for me forever, and one is kinda the same as ten but in a different way. I also just watched the The Three Stooges (the most recent one), which was actually suprisingly funny.
10 minutes of 'Bucky Larsen: Born to be a Star' 0/5 Could be one of the worst movies of all time. It's not even good for 'so bad it's good' value. It's not funny, the plot and characters are fucking terrible, it makes you feel dirty after watching it. Please save yourself the pain and forget that this movie even exists.
LOTRO Trilogy - 10/10 Not much to say, really. It's perfectly cast, beautifully shot, the soundtrack is amazing and it's filled with memorable scenes. Can't fucking wait for The Hobbit.
aaaa!! it still baffles me how people can like these movies so much. everything about them is so BAD! but everybody else is oblivious to it's bad and hammy dialogue, emotionless and wooden acting, robotic and lifeless action scenes, boring plot mostly about walking, and just, everything. none of it's good! [editline]19th August 2012[/editline] it just seems like people are so swept up in the fantasy that they don't notice how awfully it does everything. peter jackson is terrible
It didn't need to be 3 movies, if they cut out all the walking it could have been a 90 minute long movie.
I felt Godfather Part 3 was pointless because the story was told and done with 1 & 2, it didn't need a third.
Milking the cow for the last time.

It looks amazing and right from the start you're in a colourful adventure without knowing what's to come. At least if you hadn't read the books yet . Who doesn't like adventure! I have to agree on the acting being bad though. Wood, Bloom and Mortensen are especially cringeworthy imo.
Real Steel - 5/10 The CGI robots beating the shit out of each other didn't really make up for the average acting and generic, cliched plot.

LOTR blows. I Stand Alone - 3/10 That movie blows too. Doesn't work as a stupid, edgy violent film due to its refusal to actually do something that's genuinely edgy and violent, doesn't work as a smart, in-depth portrayal of a disturbed man on the edge since the writing is surprisingly one-track and one-dimensional, as well as just not very interesting at all. It's been done before and it's been done better. It also comes off as a bit full of itself at times, and that's always obnoxious and annoying. This is the only Gaspar Noe film I've seen thus far. Are all his films as bad as this or did he actually make something worth watching once upon a time? LOTR blows harder than this tho.
since I'm in China, I have Chinese movies planned: City of Life and Death Simple Life Chungking Express gonna be goood.
Moonrise Kingdom 10/10 best movie ever.

Trainspotting 8/10. Just when I started to hate Renton for [sp]joining the others with the heroin deal[/sp], he does that. Great film.

Who cares about the public opinion? I like what I like. I don't like LOTR. I think it blows. All there is to it. [editline]19th August 2012[/editline] And yeah, when I stated that LOTR blows, it kind of went without mentioning that LOTR blows in my opinion. Who else's opinion could it be?
I like the LOTR trilogy. Wouldn't give it a 10/10 though. More like a 8/10
Expendables 2 - 3/10 I knew it was going to be bad but I wanted to go laugh at explosions with a few friends. The beginning was just terrible. My face for the first 30 minutes. Later it got just a little bit more interesting. The action was just... I don't even know. Unlimited ammo for everyone. Everything explodes. The main actors standing in the open, shooting at 100 people behind cover and everyone dies except them. [sp]When the sniper guy died, I didn't really care. I could tell they tried to make us care when he was telling the others about how his friends died in the army and how he has a girlfriend who is waiting for him. But nope.[/sp] Arnold saying "I'll be back" about a dozen times, Chuck Norris making Chuck Norris jokes. I just... nope.

rusty ur wrong i watched twilight and vampire dick made me ever so hard how can u say no emotion?????1
Eragon - 1/10 Fucking hell, this movie is awful. Apparently this was the directors first film and it shows. The story is bland and cliched. The bad, cheesy dialogue and wooden acting along with the ridiculous pacing and short run time completely eliminates any sort of care or attachment for the undeveloped and boring characters and story. The cinematography and editing is awful and even the fight scenes are a pain to watch. The main character is unlikable in every way and might just be the worst part of this film. He's whiny, arrogant and just overall dumb as hell, and does nothing in this movie other than saying stupid shit and making bad decisions. The films biggest flaw is that it tries to cover too much in such a short time. It's a 500 page book squeezed into a 90 minute movie, and it feels very rushed and awkward. Overall, it's a bad, half-assed, cliched and boring movie not worth your time.
Just because you don't enjoy LOTR doesn't mean it blows, the general public opinion about the LOTR trilogy is that it's a masterpiece.
Public opinion also says Avatar is a good movie too.
Knowing - 6/10 The CG was too obvious and the ending was completely batshit. I thought the initial story, that is the story about a little girl predicting the future thanks to some paranormal phenomenon and sending a warning through a time capsule had potential. But no, it was just aliens who seem to have a sick sense of humor when it comes to saving the human race.
public opinion sucks sometimes
the expendables 2: it's like one of those bad movies that knows its bad so it tries to play on its badness in some cheap self aware gag chain but even that part of it isn't good the action wasnt terrible. not anything special, but not terrible. but the special effects? right up there with those shitty sci fi original movies. the dialogue was shit and I cared absolutely nothing for any of the characters. hey let's reference all these GOOD movies we used to be in! that's what the audience loves, right? [editline]20th August 2012[/editline] also chuck norris does a chuck norris joke. I'm not even kidding. fuck this movie.
Watched two movies in a row so here we go : Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - 4/10 Goes way too fast and tries to cram way too much in its 1h45 runtime. I knew it was going to be bad from the trailer but I still expected something a bit more enjoyable than this. It takes itself way too seriously and the silliness of the premise is not enough to carry the whole movie on. Total Recall - 5/10 Doesn't live up to the original (I know the original was already adapted from a book but I have never read it so I can't tell). The story elements they have changed make the whole premise much weaker and less interesting, the characters aren't as fleshed out and fun as in the original, some of the actors are downright annoying and the lack of mars is a shame. The action is still pretty good, despite the overuse of slow motion.
the curious case of benjamin button 7/10 it was good but i didnt really feel it
Bash each other over films as much as you like, its all down to opinion. I loved the LOTR films but I get why some might not, theres no right or wrong answer. What I do know however is the homo-erotic volleyball scene in Top Gun from the late Tony Scott is the best piece of filmaking in existance.
