I'm actually surprised by all of the praise for The Expendables 2. The first one was fucking awful.
well, considering the additions they made to the first one, how could it not be good? you have ahnold and bruce returning in legitimate roles rather than brief cameos, with the additions of JCVD & Chuck motherfucking Norris!
I just watched cabin in the woods, and it was a neat movie, reminded me of the SCP shit and since I loved reading those, it was even better. And it's nice to see a horror movie where [sp] the good guys "win" out in the end instead of the usual everyone dies bullshit[/sp]
one flew over the cuckoo's nest 7.9/10
didn't really stir anything in me, which is kind of disappointing when i look at all the praise it got. maybe there's something i'm missing here. it had its moments though.

one flew over the cukoos nest is, in my opinion, one of the best few movies ever made.
it just has such a wonderful plot, and the characters.. each one of them has an incredibly deep
and rich personalty - a thing that i never saw in any other movie.. for me that makes this movie
very unique and different.

[sp]but technically everyone does die[/sp]
Cabin in the Woods - 8/10
I don't understand why so many people hate it. Were they expecting a normal horror movie?
I went to see Cabin in the Woods with pretty much no expectations at all. I didn't even know what kind of movie it was supposed to be.
It was definitely the best surprise I've had this year when it comes to movies. 9/10 from me.
The Iron Giant. 9/10.
One of my favorite childhood movies. Saw it on DVD for five dollars and decided to buy and watch it for nostalgia's sake. It still manages to make me laugh and feel for the characters after all this time.
Watched memento again the other day. I wasn't planning to but i watched the first scene to check something and then just kept watching.
10/10 my favourite movie still.
Expendables 2 was good but the other characters like Terry Crews, Dolph and Jet Li should have had more screen time
that fucking chinese cunt was in like every scene though wtf
So I've watched even more rom-coms
Five Year Engagement - 6/10 Pretty good I recommend it if you need a quick and easy romcom you can both enjoy
Crazy Stupid Love - 7/10 Also good, although Steve Carell always ends up in the same roles
Rumour has it - 3/10
Bridget Jones Diary 2 - 4/10 I actually liked the first one a bit, this one not so much
Coming to America - 5.5/10
Did you hear about that on Radio 1 too? Sounds awesome.
I really really want to see Martha Marcy May Marlene but can't find a single cinema in Glasgow or Edinburgh showing it this weekend. Annoying.
im glad you couldnt it looked shit and i wouldnt have gone with you
faggot
How the hell do you people give Expendables 2 the same rating as you gave to Dark Knight Rises?
What the fuck is wrong with you guys.
The Birds - 10/10
The whole concept of birds being able to wreak havoc on a town doesn't sound very plausible, but the movie pretty much proves that notion wrong. The special effects were pretty good, especially for an early '60s film. The film still managed to be pretty creepy, even when compared to more modern movies, and I thought the ending was sound, too.
Its not a movie but I just finished watching The Black Donnellys and wow was it good. 9.5/10 Great plot and storytelling method set around Hell's Kitchen Irish mob style life. Rather unrealistic but completely enjoyable.
Thumbsucker - 5.5/10
It was okay. It sort of felt like it was trying to be really meaningful but the dialogue was really off, so it ended up a bit directionless. The kid was acted well, but most of the other characters left a lot to be desired.

it's possible to enjoy a popcorn movie as much as a drama.
Vicky Christina Barcelona 2009
Woody Allen's finest film by far. He's done some great, great films but this is on another level. It explores love, entrapment, lifes expectations, the creative expression and what motivates it. The cast are perfect, the script perfect and the setting in Barcelona is perfect. 4th time I've seen this and every time I understand it better. Rarely is there a film where every character is perfectly placed and gives the perfect performance.
I recommend this film without reservation.
Event Horizon -- 6 or 7/10
Good mainly for the gore. Does that make me sadistic? Evidently the original cut got an NC-17 rating, and they had to cut out like 20 minutes of footage to get it down to R... they should have included that footage on the bonus disc. :v:
I watched it because I've heard Dead Space takes a lot of influence from it, as did The White Chamber. While the movie was good, I think both those games did the same concept better... but yeah. Never seen such a gory movie, honestly, so it was kind of shocking in a weirdly good way.

Oh but the scene in which Cooper and Starck get bathed in blood was hilarious, because the "blood" was a lot more like Kool-aid.
Kramer vs Kramer 10/10
dustin hoffman is just..amazing
deserved the oscar for sure
Expendables 2. 8/10. As far as action movies go, you can't get much better. Chuck Norris killed more people in his first ten seconds than he did his entire career on Walker, Texas Ranger. :v:
I hope if they make a third one they do away with the plot entirely and just shoot minorities for three hours.

My dad and I are about to show both of my sisters and my sister's boyfriend to Pulp Fiction. They've never seen it. This should be fun.
The Cabin in the Woods 9/10
God damn that movie was great, probably the only movie i would forgive 40ish minutes of mediocre generic slasher footage for the twist and subsequent ending.
Just watched Saving Private Ryan for the first time, it was great, but I'm not sure I could watch it again, don't really have any desire to. The only problem I had with it was [sp] that upham was a whiny, sniveling, bitchy cunt who did nothing in the movie but fuck up and be annoying as shit.[/sp] Otherwise, I liked it.
Reservoir Dogs 8.75/10
[sp]I was really hoping tim roths character wouldn't die even though i knew he would[/sp]

All they need now is Wesley Snipes really and.....ugh, Steven Seagal.
it's possible to enjoy a popcorn movie as much as a drama.
not if its really badly written and just all around a retarded shitfest that misses the entire point of cheesy action
The Avengers - 6.75/10
Pretty entertaining.
Lord of War - 8/10
Letters from Iwo Jima - 9/10
Lucky Number Slevin - 10/10
I just love this movie so much, it makes me laugh everytime I watch it, and the layers of foreshadowing are pretty cool.
Tara Road - 2/10
Don't watch this boring movie.
