This girl i've been trying to fu-- date says The Woman in Black is stupid and tha paranormal activity is one of the best movies she has seen in the past 10 years fucking whore
i haven't seen the woman in black yet (been meaning to, i just haven't gotten to it yet) but anyone who praises paranormal activity should be exiled.
21 Jump Street - 8.25/10 Fucking awesome.
I know I'm late to the party on these but I was in a Robin Williams mood recently. Good Will Hunting: 10/10 Mrs. Doubtfire: 7.5/10 Good Morning Vietnam: 9/10. Also Cast Away: 10/10 Road to El Dorado: 9.5/10 I've watched quite a few movies lately.
Marked for Death 4.5/10 why did I waste my time
i haven't seen the woman in black yet (been meaning to, i just haven't gotten to it yet) but anyone who praises paranormal activity should be exiled.
It was good but it relied too much on jump scares imo, still one of the better horror films recently (not that i watch that many, really) [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Ive watched a fair few filma recently, ill write up some little reviews whwn i get on a computer
i haven't seen the woman in black yet (been meaning to, i just haven't gotten to it yet) but anyone who praises paranormal activity should be exiled.
If you focus more on the story rather than the scares you'll see it's really good i've seen better but its one of the best horror movie from the past 5 years maybe
Magnolia 9/10 A very excellent film. Quite long, but the powerful scenes scattered throughout the movie make it more than worthwhile.
Hunger - 9/10 I forgot that not eating was bad, this film was a great reminder.
No. No, dude. See it in theaters if you have the chance. It's like "Inception". It's just not the same watching it at home.
I generally go to the cinema for the 3d films now, when one comes up worth seeing. We are lucky to have a small indie cinema for the odd stuff which once a month I will visit to support the indie films. The problem is, I have a fridge full of Belgian beer, a big, flat LED TV with a juicy Yamaha 5.1 amp powering some Mission speakers and an active sub. I'm also extremely rich and good looking too so I don't need the cinema. Oh yes, Battleship (2012) What a load of fucking shit but just what I needed after a hard day at work when I want something that requires no thought. Great piece of shit, america/10
The Fall: A very beautiful, surreal movie. It's about an injured stuntman who tells amazing stories to a young girl to get more morphine. There are no special effects used, just very clever shooting. 8.5/10

The wiki page for this film makes a great read.
The Shining - 9/10 What is with Stephen King and Indian burial grounds?
21 Jump Street is actually really good.
Hunger - 9/10 I forgot that not eating was bad, this film was a great reminder.
I watched Shame today, Steve McQueen's (not the actor, hes a pretty new director) latest film. (he also did hunger) I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Michael Fassbender was amazing. He reminded me a lot of Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Carrey Mulligan was so different from her character in Drive :v: Seriously brilliantly directed and shot. Very uniquely done. Lots and lots of nudity and sex in it, but I never felt it was excessive. Worked with the style and fassbenders character. Loads of Fassbender cock at the start... :v: 9/10 The incredible hulk was on tv so i watched it, not seen it before. A lot better than the earlier one, Edward Norton was good in it. 7.5/10 Other films i've watched recently: 500 Days of Summer- really good film, I liked the nonlinear structure, Joseph Gordon Levitt was great and Zooey Deschanel was, wrll, Zooey Deschanel :v: very cute but ditsy and with issues. 7.5/10 Brick- another JGL film. It was decent. Watched it because it was described as a "neo-noir thriller" but it wasn't very noir feeling, nor were there many thrills. One of Joseph's weaker roles. 6/10 39 steps- great Hitchcock classic. Predictable after having seen so many of his films but this and The Lodger set the groundwork for his style so it was expected. Lead actor was brillaint, and had a great character. Captured him very well. Really good. Cleverly shot, especially for 1935 where it was a lot harder to do some of the things he did than nowadays. 8/10 Expendables 2, good fun. Better than I expected, I went in with low expectations, sucked that [sp]liam hemsworth died after like 30 minutes[/sp] 6.5/10 Mac & Devin go to High School Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa made a film. I wad blazed out my fucking mind and pretty drunk when watching it so I loved it but I remember so little of it :v: not due to it being forgettable.. I was just pretty fucked at the time. Im pretty sure it was genuinely ok though, i should maybe do a sober watchthrough but it was made for watching while out of it... I think the point is to get blazed to it. 420/10 the flowers of war- new Christian Bale film. Pretty excellent. Looked absolutely beautiful, the acting allround was superb. A nice story, based on truth but no idea how closely. 7.5/10 I think that's all? :v: that's the past week or so. Can't think of any others.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol 5/10 Srsly, it was like the plot was written by a 10yr old.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol 5/10 Srsly, it was like the plot was written by a 10yr old.
I did like all the really cool devices they used.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol 5/10 Srsly, it was like the plot was written by a 10yr old.
The plot wasn't anything special but that movie was the most entertaining, genuinely fun film I've seen in a long time.
Crumb - 9/10 Brilliant. Robert Crumb may very well be the most fascinating figure in American comics, underground or otherwise. "Do you get a lot of criticism over the way you portray black people in your work?" "Oh yes. Oh yes. But all of it from white liberals."
The Descendants 8/10 it was something different in a good way and loved the soundtrack
Religulous - 8/10 Really damn funny but also clever and thought provoking. One of my favourite documentaries. [editline]29th August 2012[/editline] The Bridge - 5/10 God this dragged on, even at 90 mins. I know it's not supposed to be exciting but it could at least be interesting. It was a nice idea but really badly executed. [editline]29th August 2012[/editline] Being Elmo - 9/10 Yes I watched a lot of documentaries. This was my favourite, it told a really great and inspiring story while being just plain nice to watch.
Leon The Professional 5/5 I put off watching this for way to long but it was totally worth it. Jean Reno was great and Gary Oldman was fan fucking tastic. Would love to see a proper sequel now that Portman is grown up Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels 5/5 The way all the different stories meld together is perfect.
lawless was pretty good despite Shia Lebeouf, who shockingly didn't do a terrible job Tom Hardy's character and performance were absolutely fantastic. I'd probably give this movie an 8/10.
Not a movie but: Episode 1 of Cosmos (The Shores of the Cosmic Ocean) - 9/10
Expendables 2: Ohgodwhy/10 The cameos were good and the action was pretty solid for the most part but pretty much any time someone was speaking it was absolutely horrible (except for some bits of dialogue during the cameos but even then)
Orphan twas a pretty cool film and was i guess intense or w/e for me at least cause im not too good with scary(ish) movies. [sp]the scene where she shows the flowers to the mom that she picked was awesome lol i was like omg that was so good when i saw it, it was really powerful or something lol[/sp] the final twist at the end was pretty cool i guess, some could have proabbly seen it coming but im not too good with guessing games so it was pretty good for me, only problem was it was a bit of a boner kill but oh well. 6.6 - 10 for me.
sunshine (2007) 8/10 i had no expectations or previous encounters with this film, only reason i found it was because i was checking out cillian murphy's IMDb. it blew me away. beautiful sci-fi with a lovely soundtrack. everyone should watch it.

It's better if you turn it off about 20 mins before the end because fucks the whole experience up.
