The Expendables - 8/10
I loved every moment of it, I enjoy films with good stories like the rest of us but sometime you just have to let it go and start blowing shit up for just no reason.
When Bruce Willis, Arnie and Stallone were all walking through the airport side by side mowing down everything I thought "holy shit this could not get any better." Then Chuck Norris came back to help them out and I literally came.
the problem with the expendables is it can't decide if it wants to be serious drama, stupid action, or self aware schlock, and it didn't do good at any of it
back to the future - 85
yes.
Planet Terror- 8/10
This really owned. Ridiculously over the top gore, strong 80s vibe (well its a grindhouse tribute), delibirately low budget. Great fun, one of the best zombie films ive seen imo
Dead Snow- 6/10
I wanted this to be good but it was pretty bad
Took literally almost a fucking hour to get started which for an 88 minute film is unforgivable, it was really tedious and boring a lot of the time. The black humour was quite good and I counted 5 Evil Dead references. The scene near the end where they [sp] just own a load of zombies with a chainsaw and hammer to some unfitting music[/sp] fuckin owned tho and that puts it up from a 5 to a 6 right there. Also the best character was the film geek but he was like what second to die it was lame. No one else was even a little interesting.
The Pirates! in an Adventure with Scientists 8/10
The characters are very likable and I loved the whole premise. Very good movie overall.
Cabin in the Woods, very clever and awesome film.
[sp]Though I wonder how the "scientists" managed to make the deal with Gods :v:[/sp]
Its basically the best horror film of the 21st century
But when the evil dead remake comes out it'll be bumped down a spot I'm sure because it will own hopefully
Yeah san raimi nd bruce campbell are totally aware of that which is why their main character isn't Ash but in fact a girl called Mia. With Raimi, Campbell and Rob Tapert producing I dont think they'll let this new director (who seems promising) ruin it. If anyone knows Evil Dead, it's those 3. Also Bruce Campbell may actually have a cameo as Ash , or atleast some kind of cameo.
The remake also isn't a total remake but more of an original film, as it doesn't just redo everything the original did but will change it all up a lot. I reckon the trick will be to not view it as a remake to the 81 film but as a standalone one, and it'll be easier to enjoy.
this talk reminds me of how little i've seen of classic horror.
Watch Evil Dead II as soon as you can, it's brilliant.
I can't believe they are actually making the third sequence to The Human Centipede, i mean, how do they get the money?

The Dictator - 10/10
Was laughing through the whole damn film, so fucking funny. Especially that I'm an Arab myself (well, a half-breed) so I picked up on some of the Arabic he used. It's really well done and just hilarious all-round.
If you want to watch this movie, get a couple of your mates over, have a few beers handy and just watch it and laugh your asses off. Replacing all the well known songs with Arabic singers was just brilliant. End Credit bloopers were also hilarious.

The Dictator is about as unfunny as a movie can possibly be

Glad to know everyone is entitled to an opinion.
Yeah but like it's not even an opinion thing right here, that movie is just shockingly not funny

at first I thought you were just talking ironically to mock the film because I was like there is no way someone could give this a 10/10 but then I realised you were being serious and i just cannot fathom
I think I found it so funny because I'm Middle-Eastern myself (half Arab / half English) so I picked up on a lot of the stuff, especially the Arabic words he'd use. I had a good few laugh out loud moments and I'd watch it again.
I don't see the reason why I'm receiving opposition for just posting an opinion. Good to know you found it so despicably, abhorrently terrible, Rusty.

Well, I don't care much for horror in general. Maybe you don't either.
the thirteenth floor.
it was like small time matrix but it was pretty cool.
7/10 cause dat twist.
Jennifer's Body
It was pretty good then Megan Fox wore hardly anything and made out with Amanda Seyfried and it became amazing.

what are you saying, that i didn't get it? i definitely got it
it just wasn't funny
Lost In Translation - 6/10
Nice and relaxing.
Bit lightweight, bit paper-thin, bit calculated, but nice and relaxing.
The Raid: Redemption - 8.5/10
The plot was ok, and if it wasn't, the cool action scenes make up for it.
Gotta love Asian movies with melee combat scenes.

What I'm saying is that as a native Arabic speaker, I picked up on a lot of the words he used. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you don't know what 5ara means, or labnah, or anything else he said in Arabic? A lot of what he said was made up bullshit, but every now and then he'd use a real Arabic word which really suited the situation, hence making it funny.
The Rum Diary 7/10 pretty good nothing revealing or revolutionary but entertaining with a few bits of critique.
