I haven't seen The Dictator.
bruno has a lot more dick
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
8.5/10
I really enjoyed it.
Breakfast At Tiffanys - 9/10
I'd seen the last half of the film before in Spanish, it was much better seeing it from the beginning and in English. It's pretty much "friendzone" the film, but very enjoyable and it holds up well (except for Mickey Rooney playing a caricature of a Japanese man, every time he was on screen it was like a different movie had interrupted this one). Also, Audrey Hepburn is in this film and she looks like this

Good soundtrack too.
I saw Funny Face with Audrey in it a few days ago.
She i̶s̶ was kinda hot. :v:
Black Dynamite: 8/10.
Really god damn funny, and generally entertaining.
Lockout
2/10
Typical "save the president's daughter" movie, expect it's on space.

Actually one of the best comedy of recent years.
just like everyone who likes the movie?
but you like that movie
Anna Karenina was the last film I saw at the cinema. I'll give it 7/10, but that's probably only because I haven't read the book yet and wasn't really sure what was happening at some points.
Watched The Silence Of The Lambs again today after finishing the book. Never gets old.
The Expendables 2
3/10
The plot was completely retarded, the action was bad for a movie that was supposed to be completely about action, and the jokes were painful.
The Sandlot. 9/10. Never gets old. Reminds me of childhood when we all were growing up in the neighborhood. Everything fits perfectly almost. The scenes, the angles, Music, sound effects, slow motion.
Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil - 8/10
Arena - 1/10
It's just so hard to describe how bad this film is, the only suggestion I would give is to watch it. It's seriously horrible.

For-ev-er. For-ev-er.
I Spit on Your Grave ('78)
6/10
not a very complex film. not a lot of substance here. just a controversial rape revenge film that was meant to shock a generation. it's been hailed as having a powerful feminist message but really it's just an excuse for the audience to see people get brutally murdered and not feel bad about it because the victims are disgusting lowlifes.
that said, even viewing it with the "it is what it is" mindset, it's not even very compelling or entertaining.
lilo and stich 7/10
the movie should just have been about the sisters.

good movie. one of the forgotten ones where you see it with the younger ones and realise how good it actually was.
I also picked up twelve monkeys and reservoir dogs, neither of which I have seen. trying to watch thes worst to best (picked them up with I spit on your grave)
which ones better of the two?? ive heard nothing but good things about both.

unlike hardcore tarantino fans, I'm not a fan of reservoir dogs. I'm sorry..
I do enjoy it for what it is, but it really is "bitesize" and "underdeveloped" for me. It's one of those flicks where you watch it for the sake of it being short..
Twelve Monkeys is superb. One of your avatar's best movies, hands down.

Are you more of a Quentin Tarantino fan or a Terry Gilliam fan? I love both, but I've been watching TG films since I was about four, so I'd place Twelve Monkeys over Reservoir Dogs.
lawless 7.5
shit this movie was great. tom hardy great as always. could use a little more gary oldman though, but him as a gangster was cool.

Understatement of the year.
Audrey Hepburn > Marilyn Monroe
Audrey Hepburn > Marilyn Monroe
Truman Capote actually wanted Monroe to play Holly Golightly, I haven't read the book yet but apparently she's a much more hardcore character in the book than in the film because playing a prostitute (even though it's sort of hinted at in the film) didn't suit Hepburn so well.
Men in Black III - 6/10
I'm much better at coming up with numbers than putting my feelings about movies into words. And I'm not even great at coming up with numbers.
ParaNorman - 8/10
I enjoyed it. That's all I'm going to say about it right now.
I also recently saw The Possession. I'm going to take a while to think about it some more, but it wasn't great.
The Social Network - 8.5/10...
What a fantastic film, I went in expecting an over indulgent snooze fest and came out pleasantly surprised.
Great performances all around and it was just a great character study overall.
Amazing soundtrack too.
the possession - 7/10
more fun watching it with friends.
Wit
9/10
Had to watch it for English class, it was fantastic. Emma Thompson is amazing as always, and man that ending ;( almost all of my class were crying by the end of the film. Loved it!
Twelve Monkeys
9.5/10
excellent. really excellent. time travel concept that actually makes sense. I'm not used to seeing that in movies. also watching the people temporarily spiral into confused madness trying to tie together all this unreal shit, like I'd expect actual human beings to do when confronted by a situation like that.
lots of fantastic performances all around, especially from Willis and Pitt. I absolutely love this movie.

probably terry gilliams best movie
Arbitrage.
Have no idea what the word means, but it's a fantastic movie.. If you've seen the original Wall Street film, please take a look at this and realise how much superior it is.
Richard Gere is on form, as well as Tim Roth. Surprisingly after Reservoir Dogs I never thought he could repair his American accent, here he's actually very natural for once.. Not the best performance by him, but he adds the somewhat gritty, helpless cop tone to it.
As for what I said about Wall Street, here the way people's lives are destroyed is physically painful.
Also the [sp]ending is one those that drives you crazy and then you relax[/sp] :-)
Not really a spoiler, but whatever..
This year hasn't "taken off" for me in terms of movies, but one by one... this year is getting better and better. Still haven't seen Batman or Alien prequel. :-)
[editline]15th September 2012[/editline]
okay found out what the word means. wow Richard Gere really doesn't give a shit in this movie about anything else but money..
