Hot Fuzz - 10/10 I will never get tired of this film ever
Hot Fuzz - 10/10 I will never get tired of this film ever
Shaun of The Dead and Hot Fuzz.. Best movies ever.
good, sure, but you must not have seen many movies if you think theyre the best ever
watched southland tales last night...solid mindfuckery 7/10
Machete whatthefuckdidiwatch/10 I actually enjoyed it to an extent. The plot was all over the place and the characters were kind of bland. The movie is fun in the sense of over-the-top action scenes and the dialogue between characters. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but constantly throughout the movie, I was wondering how Danny Trejo kept bedding all of these girls. Was Machete notorious for having an abnormally-large penis or did he have high sexual prowess? Dude bagged Lindsey Lohan and mother, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, and other not mentioned women.
what the fuck are you talking about?
to answer this confusion: You can't deny that there are movies that influence us as men that won't have the same affect on women. I'm not saying we're all stereotypical, but we're still bound by gender in how we react to things. Forget The Departed and Pulp Fiction, those weren't good examples. You can watch a movie like "Precious" for example, and you know full well, no matter how much you may enjoy it, it won't be the same reaction personally as compared to women. [editline]19th September 2012[/editline] watched City of Life and Death (Chinese/Japanese) miles better than any war movie I've seen in months. Ridiculously bitter and realistic, it hurts. It's in black and white and still feels much more painful than Saving Private Ryan, which compared to this is like watching Shrek 2.
Brand Upon the Brain! 5.5-9.7/10 Very odd movie. I've seen the docu-fantasy My Winnipeg from the same director and really loved that so I decided to check this one out. This is really a silent movie with narration which was performed live when it first came out. It was shot on Super 8, I think, in black and white with special effects looking like some old lost surrealist film or something. The plot takes place in an orphanage and is a mix of a coming-of-age-story and a sci-fi mystery concerning the protagonist remembering back to his youth in his parents' orphanage and the mysterious holes that keep appearing at the back of orphans' heads. There's also this cross-dressing teenage detective who has lesbian sex. If you want a weird story shot in a really unconventional but very hypnotic and compelling way, check this out.
MIB 3 - 7.5/10 Way better than I thought it was going to be, considering how garbage MIB 2 was.
The Princess Bride - 11/10 I actually turned down an opportunity to watch this movie once. I consider it the worst decision I have ever made.
good, sure, but you must not have seen many movies if you think theyre the best ever
Opinions.
Opinions.
Naivety.
Naivety.
Just because I prefer a light hearted comedy over a movie such as The Shawshank Redemption that's loaded with emotion?
nah shawshank redemption is super over rated
nah shawshank redemption is super over rated
HERETIC! BURN THE BLASPHEMER!
nah shawshank redemption is super over rated
That should be an instant permaban in this thread.
I know that it's just your opinion, but what didn't you like about it? I've tried to find flaws in that movie and I have a hard time doing so.
For reasons since forgotten, I wanted to hate the movie before watching it (keep in mind this was in my youth), but I just couldn't find much legitimately wrong with it. Its definitely one of the best Stephen King adaptations.
nah shawshank redemption is super over rated
It's a little little bit overrated. It's still fantastically amazing, but I do agree it's not the best of all time that many people and IMDB claim. And in that sense, yes it's overrated. guys I'm not saying shawshank is bad. It's a great film. I really like it I just wouldn't rank it as one of the greatest of all time. [editline]20th September 2012[/editline]
taking imdb seriously is for children.
but IMDb is a great site
nah shawshank redemption is super over rated
yeah but that's the only movie where it's universally liked, it brings us together. Why ruin it brah? :(
Stranger Than Fiction: 8/10 It's really interesting how good movies can be when actors step out of their normal genre. Probably because we're not used to seeing them in those kinds of roles. Will Farrell in this movie comes to mind and Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love
I still like it. but I think you may have just said something sensible! that's a fair point actually, who doesnt love shawshank redemption? I'm yet to meet anyone who didn't like it.
taking imdb seriously is for children.
it's top 250 is based on user ratings, what exactly am i not meant to take seriously, what i said was a lot of people consider it the best of all time, that's exactly what those ratings MEAN
Resident Evil: Damnation - 6.5/10 (On a scale from 4 to 10) It was good enough to keep me watching. Not as good as Degeneration was.

In bruges, 8.5/10 I got a good laugh or two out of this movie. I enjoyed it a lot.
In bruges, 8.5/10 I got a good laugh or two out of this movie. I enjoyed it a lot.
I want to see it but I just never find the motivation to put it on.
I want to see it but I just never find the motivation to put it on.
worth seeing. Especially for the thrill of insults in an irish accent.
The Cure (1997) - Genuinely spooky without any blatant in your face horror motifs. Subtle gestures creep inside your skin.
