Those aren't any better, really.
They do way more justice to the franchise than those the live action abominations
Not really a movie but I just watched Louis CK: Live at The Beacon, bought it off his site, my stomach is actually in pain from eating and laughing so hard at the same time, amazing comedian. 9/10 because some things he said are pretty disgusting but only because I was eating, still funny and well worth the £3
Looper 9/10
The fuck is with the dumbs? No opinions allowed?
In F&T? Never.
Prometheus 6/10 What the fuck was that crap. I remember being hyped as fuck for that to release. So disappointing.
As far as I know there's no general Film discussion, so I'm gonna try and phrase my next question in a way that makes it relevant to this thread. I have three films (well, five technically, but two of them I don't particularly want to watch right now) that I bought on BluRay today; Sorority Row (I liked it when I saw it in the cinema, sue me), Sweeney Todd, and The Big Lebowski. Which one should I watch so I can come back and rate it in this thread first? :v: [editline]6th October 2012[/editline] If I know Facepunch, the answer is gonna almost unanimously be "The Big Lebowski", but I figured I'd ask anyway.
I like sweeney Todd more than the big lebowski personally but there both really good, depends on what mood you're in I guess
Prometheus 6/10 What the fuck was that crap. I remember being hyped as fuck for that to release. So disappointing.
All you did was moan without giving reasons. You should have said how you didn't understand the plot and how the group of about 8 actors didn't have a fully developed back story. Also the lack of flashing lights and spaceships. Never forget that. :)
Do I need to give reasons? The whole thing was boring as fuck. I can enjoy a slower less action packed movie (I loved Alien), however pretty much nothing happened in this that made me interested or care, because everything in the movie seemed to have little to no explanation. It just seemed like it was wrote in freeform where one thing lead to another without much of a reason for doing so.
Dark knight returns part 1 8/10 good movie, looking forward the second part
As far as I know there's no general Film discussion, so I'm gonna try and phrase my next question in a way that makes it relevant to this thread.
I made one but everyone just kept using this.
Dredd: 9.5/10 Amazing movie. It was highly original and unique. Many parts were just clever and the effects were done fine. When I was watching this movie my eyes were peeled on the screen the whole time I barely touched my popcorn. Highly recommend this movie. Taken 2: 3/10 Very cliche and some parts were just ridiculous. You can practically tell what was going to happen many times. There were parts that were just really unrealistic and cheesy. I wouldn't recommend this movie.
500 Days of Summer - 6.5/10... Charming as hell, sure... but it also really dragged and the hipster vibes were almost nauseating. Joseph Gordon Levitt was just amazing though, great performance. Am I the only one who thinks that Zooey Deschanel can't act worth a damn? She's cute and all but god damn my cat's a better actor.
Hell Ride - 8/10 I found it hard to know which character was who but it was a fun watch and I really recommend it.
Moonrise Kingdom - 9.5/10 This movie was fantastic, I had a smile on my face for pretty much the entire movie.
Moonrise Kingdom - 9.5/10 This movie was fantastic, I had a smile on my face for pretty much the entire movie.
dude I loved that movie everyone else in my school thought it was weird as fuck
The Last of the Mohicans - 8.5/10 A powerful film with strong performances and an amazing soundtrack.
The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1 - 8 / 10
Excellent movie, true to the book. Best animated Batman yet. Much better than Dark Knight Rises. It actually had, you know, Batman in it.

I didn't like it as much as TDK but it was still a pretty great film
lol dont mind him everywhere he goes he has to rub it in everyones face how much he couldnt stand tdkr
maybe if he realized everyone thought he was really stupid for that opinion he would stop
That's awful. I don't see how people can hate on the film as much as it's been hated on. In fact, it's one of the best movies I've ever seen in the cinema.
filmslacker
ak'z
hax [editline]7th October 2012[/editline] also I saw the sequel to the first "Apu Trilogy" movie, which was called The Vanquished. Brilliant movie. Much more depressive than the first, but even being such a low budget movie, it manages to be raw, intelligent and natural as compared to a lot of the stuff nowadays. Not that there's anything wrong with things today, but some of the intense moments in that movie were so gripping that it depresses me to think nowadays you need dosh to get anywhere near to reality. Load of bollocks. I still prefer the first though, "The song of a little road". It's one of those films where it's really not about "complex plots and twists" but just life as it is. [editline]7th October 2012[/editline] will watch either Zodiac or Hard Eight tonight. Fincher or PT Anderson. Must chooz.

In fact, it's one of the best movies I've ever seen in the cinema.
What was so great about it? The countless flaws, the lack of Batman and any satisfying Batman action, the wasted villains and their anti-climatic deaths, the shitty, contrived plot, Anne Hathaway and her overacting, the astounding number of unanswered questions? I place TDKR on the same level as Michael Bay's Transformers trilogy. They both had a lot of cool special effects and props, and over the top action scenes, but nothing else really worth watching it for unless you're a diehard fan.
still ain't seen the new batmon. I'm not hyped for it tbh, otherwise I would have seen it in the cinema.
rises was good but not amazing and far from the standard of begins and tdk
Just watched The Green Mile, and I can say that it was 3 hours well spent.
just rewatched the Bourne Trilogy (Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum) 9/10 opinions opinions
