Skyfall
Felt very much like a homage to classic Bond movies. Rushed in places but over all it was engaging and enjoyable.

birdemic (again(I secretly hate myself))

Good for a novelty's sake but its like a step by step tutorial of how to not make a movie.
I think every film student should see this film if only for an example of what to avoid doing ever in film there is literally not a single thing about this movie that is remotely done right.
I think I hear a mountain lion!
Paranormal Activity 3
Nothing happens/10
I'll admit that the people in this movie are definitely smarter than the previous 2. And the main character was pretty likable. But goddamn it's 80 minutes of nothing happening. A few obvious jump scares and that's about it. The ending wasn't scary in the slightest, it was just weird
Also why the fuck does this mother not care that her boyfriend has set up a video camera in her daughters' bedroom?!?
Cloud Atlas: 7/10
It was a good movie, but the way the stories constantly jump around from the past, present and future can confuse the viewers easily.
Drive was bare good
excuse me
excuse me
was 'berry' good.
Sinister: like 6/10 fuck it idk this movie was mediocre as shit
shame because it had loads of potential but fell into the silly haunted house booga booga jump scares galore tropes really soon.
to its credit: Ethan Hawke put up a great performance as usual, and the general atmosphere of the films, especially regarding the snuff films he watches, are pretty unsettling. in part largely to the soundtrack.
but the scenes with the [sp]ghost kids[/sp] felt awfully out of place and just kind of hammed the whole feel to hell and back, and the big bad boogie monster dude looked really generic. like some outcast slip knot reject.
Pretty much. Mr. Boogie looks like a Halloween costume.
[sp]I thought the "Pool Party" tape was the most disturbing. Probably because you could see them attempt to kick their feet as they drown.[/sp]
Requiem for a Dream

Kill Bill Vol 1 - 8/10
Great, great, great. Awesome.
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
I'm going to assume I can't rate negatives so I'll give it a 2 because it bears the Silent Hill moniker. It makes a totally ridiculous mockery of everything Silent Hill stands for and it twisted the games into a big huge pretzel knot by trying to be different than them while retelling the same plot as they have in 1.5 hours, and it's just plain awful. The special effects are cheesy and way too camp for a movie that takes itself as seriously as it does, and the sudden exposition bomb that explains everything near the end is almost copied and pasted from the first movie where the SAME THING HAPPENS. It was a horrible waste of money, not as a Silent Hill adaption, but as a movie in general, don't go see it.
[editline]e[/editline]
To give you an idea of why it's so awful, here's how the protagonist's gender switch happened: Cristophe Gans, original director of the first movie, changed Harry Mason into Rose DaSilva, because he felt Harry as a male was not fit for the role of 'helpless, endangered person in uncomfortable situations' and this new character, Rose, would be. Then he either erased the rest of the male characters or gender switched them as well... at which point the screenwriters realized there were literally zero men left in the entire movie outside of Pyramid Head. So, they wrote in Sean Bean's portions of the movie as a COMPLETELY USELESS ASIDE and gave him a purpose later in the revisingg so that the movie wouldn't seem gender-biased.
Kill Bill Vol 2 - 8/10
Amazing series.
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade

no matter how many times i watch them, it's always weaver/weaver, i can think of no higher rating (?/malkovich

Boogie Nights - 9/10
oh Paul thomas anderson u so genius
the thing i liked most was probably how the first half of the movie (1970's) and the second half or so (1980's) felt completely different.
not only did it get much darker with breakdowns and characters getting injured but the way the scenes were shot and even the camera quality felt different
and how you share the same amazement as the actors when you finally see [sp]dirk digglers dick at the end[/sp]
great movie, cant wait to see The Master in the cinema
Harry Brown - 8/10
If you want to see Michael Caine murder some chavs its great fun.
Speaking of which, can anyone recommend some films that involve people "getting what they deserve". i.e bad people getting beaten / murdered. You know what I mean. When its satisfying to see assholes get hurt.
Ted 7/10
It got kinda draggy later on as they were just stretching the story, the humors was awesome as well as the concept of a magical teddybear coming to life
Of course this might not be your humor at all

Only two I can come to think of right now is Sunflower and The Crow.
Skyfall- 8/10
best of the craig movies by far. in regards to casting [sp]moneypenny[/sp] wasn't that endearing but I liked the new Q and [sp]the new M[/sp], and Javier did a fantastic job bringing back the "Bond villain" in style (and he was funny as hell too, a big bonus)
pokes fun at the old movies, knows when and when not to take itself seriously, has some great fights and set pieces, paced well although a bit dragging in the final act, and overall is a solid ass film that makes me excited about further bond adventures
The Pursuit of Happiness

Yeah, it's just funny reading through the thread and seeing those posts so close together without looking at the time they were posted.
The Thing - 9/10
Fucking love this film. One of the best horror movies ever IMO.

Agreed. Saw it tonight with some friends. I really enjoyed it a lot.
Queen of the Damned-- 3/10
Ugh. Not worth it. Too much female partial nudity, those whores need to cover their skin! It's abhorrent!
(I'm not muslim extremist or some shit, just disgusted by human females in 'sexy' outfits, or most any sex act involving them. Say hello to xxpoonyxx's alter ego, the depressive dick.)
Everything Must Go - 9/10
Damn...
