more folk need to see End of Watch.
don't watch the trailer though, ruins it as per usual.

I thought Charlie Sheen was pretty decent in it.
It was the contrary for me. It felt like he was trying to do a Apocalypse Now like his father or something. Maybe I just expected too much from the movie :P

Not really fair to compare it to the mammoth that is Apocaylpse Now. :-)
For its own movie, it's a fairly good experience. Same with The Deer Hunter.
just got out of end of watch and it was absolutely fantastic. better than he trailer portrays it. Jake gylenhaal wad fucking brilliant.
ill need to sit down nd review all the film I've watched the last week or so cos ive been busy :v: watched a lot of great stuff.
[editline]23rd November 2012[/editline]
been to the cinema I think 5 times in the past 7 days
i can go to all movies i want whenever i want for just 19 euros a month with the cinema card i bought
feels good
[editline]hi[/editline]
i actually saw End of watch just because it was free and there were no other movies to go to
only had like 10 people in the room.
end of watch was great mostly because of the natural as fuck chemistry between the two main characters, really kept me immersed throughout the whole thing
It's a pretty simple movie too, but damn effective. Goes to show how much reality and immersion is important.

I'm a member at the filmhouse as well, indie cinema here which is fantastic. cheap too, with my student and member discount tickets are only £2.50-£4. great deal. there's another local cinema here as well, the cameo, which is in a chain of cinema but theyre independently run I think. both own.
A Bugs Life 9/10. It's a Pixar movie, watch it.
Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows
2/10
After watching Sherlock, the BBC series, I cannot stand the movies.
'like crazy'
pretty good movie, good themes, executed fairly well. Although a little unrealistic at times maybe?
7/10
After watching Sherlock, the BBC series, I cannot stand the movies.
I rather disliked the BBC series. Wayyy too much of the CSI bullshit and the conclusions were either way to obvious or things the audience would never be able to figure out and were just half assed.
Also SEASON 2 ENDING SPOILERS [sp]I'm going to jump off this roof and die BUT THIS SERIES IS MAKING TOO MUCH MONEY SO I'M NOT REALLY DEAD[/sp]
Until I see how they swing things in season 3 I have left my opinion on the season 2 finale up in the air.

Haven't seen the Iron Man versions yet (people say they're good), but I can attest to the BBC series being great.

But [sp]faking death[/sp] happens in every single incarnation of sherlock holmes including the new movies.
Saw Skyfall. I loved the throwbacks to the old james bonds and there were some awesome moments but, i don't know it didn't feel like an amazing movie, but still a solid one. 7.6/10
Battle Royale- 8/10, distubing and interesting.
Skyfall- 9/10, really exciting.

Better ways to do it then [sp]jumping off a tall building and getting confirmed dead[/sp]
Anyways I have other gripes with it
McGregor. I always mix those names up.
it was reichenbach falls you moron, what did you think was going to happen
25th Hour 9/10
Edward Norton is amazing.
I just watched The Mist (I was bored) and it was a horrendous experience to sit through and by the time it was over I felt I deserved some sort of compensation from the world for having me think it was going to be a good movie. Why do so many people think it's amazing? Is it because of the over the top (hilarious) ending? The entire movie ruined its own atmosphere by throwing itself at you and then just... nothing happens basically. It's just sort of like "Ok, nvm, we're done. Forget about all that build up from before." And any sort of interaction or conflict between the characters is also dull and I feel like everyone in this movie has the mental capacity of a 10 year old. They spend half their time looking around wide eyed with their mouths open, probably hoping the monsters are just gonna take one look at them, realize how fucking retarded they are and just run away scared for having seen so many dumb people in one place.
5 out of fucking 10, don't watch it unless you like to be disappointed by everything you love.

[sp]That's a reference to the books[/sp]
lilyo is so fuckin 'ard even his nightmares are scared of him.

I liked the modern approach a lot, more so since they kept the technology parts mostly realistic compared to the godawful CSI stuff. Also the actors are a perfect cast, especially Watson and M
The Princess Bride
9/10

Well it wasn't great, but if you're thinking it'll match Green Mile or Shawshank Redemption then that's a definitive no.
For what it was though, a Stephen King adaptation, it was a pretty good watch. Had a lot of atmosphere, even if the payoff isn't moving/invigorating.
The Mist had potential but it kinda felt like it failed on many aspects. i really only liked 2 things about it, the main actor's realistic reaction to the whole situation and [sp]that annoying bitch getting shot[/sp]
[editline]w[/editline]
wtf frank darabont directed it i didnt know that wtf
mist owns

as with everything in the Sherlock series, if you look into the series closely you will be able to see how it was done. I have a friend who worked out pretty much every single one of the mysteries ahead of time just by having a keen eye
